摘要
During the Shang-Zhou period, there were several major archaeological cultures in the Western Hubei region: The Sanxingdui culture prevailed in the Lower Erligang phase. The Xianglushi culture began to be bred in that phase and developed in the Upper Erligang to Yinxu I culture. Thereafter it migrated westward suddenly. As a replacement for it, there appeared a cultural complex represented by scarcely recorded remains with ding tripods and jars as the core. This complex existed until the Chu culture of the late Western Zhou period gradually occupied this region. The westward migration of Xianglushi culture constituted the main cause of the fall of Sanxingdui culture and the formation of Shi'erqiao culture. In the Yangtze valley of eastern Sichuan, if the archaeological culture of the Spring-and-Autumn and Warring States period was the Ba culture, then the Xianglushi culture may have been the early Ba culture.
