摘要
本文概述Chomsky意义内在论的理论要点 ,批评以Frege语义三角为代表的意义外在论。作者认为 ,意义在人脑之中 ,属于个体的心理事件 ;意义先于经验 ,先于词语 ,意义的数量大于词语的数量 ,不能把科学语言与日常语言等同起来 ,也不能用研究科学语言的方法研究人类的日常语言。
In his intriguingly intelligent and complicated Language and Nature, Chomsky launches a criticism of the familiar “Semantic Triangle” advanced by Frege, and lays out his internalist view on meaning. The present article attempts to figure out, through the highly technical and arcane language in the original, the basic ideas in this internalist view and implications in the study of meaning in human languages.
