摘要
本文在回顾TAPs翻译研究近二十年发展的基础上 ,指出它虽在小范围内取得了一定成功 ,但却在操作层面和方法论层面上存在漏洞和不足。操作层面的不足主要表现在未能将TAPs数据分类 ,忽视受试者数量和外部干扰因素可能对实验结果的影响 ;方法论层面的漏洞则主要表现在我们至今尚不明白TAPs能否真正反映翻译过程或思维过程、会不会影响正在进行的思维过程以及TAPs翻译实验中两种不同的翻译模式是否会互相干扰。本文结尾还就TAPs翻译研究的未来发展提出了一些建议。
By reviewing the development of TAPs translation research over the past twenty years, the present paper points out its operational pitfalls and methodological limitations despite its marginal success in some areas. To be more specific, the operational pitfalls lie in its failure to take into account those factors such as the types of TAPs data, the number of subjects and the degree of external intervention that may exert influence on the results of the research; while the methodological limitations consist in its inefficacy to furnish an answer to the questions such as whether TAPs really mirrors the translation process or the thinking process, whether TAPs affects the ongoing thinking process and whether the two different modes or translation interfere with each other during TAPs experiments. The paper concludes by offering some suggestions for the future development of TAPs translation research.
