Effects of brain lateralization on immune system

摘要 脑不对称是机体普遍存在的生物学现象。研究证实 ,大脑的不对称性可以影响免疫功能。通过动物实验以及临床观察发现 ,大脑左右两半球对免疫功能具有相反的调节作用 ,而且 ,动物及人类行为不对称与免疫系统间也存在密切的关系。新近的研究表明脑不对称亦可影响细胞因子的产生。总之 ,脑不对称对免疫功能的调控存在异质性 ,这一发现不仅丰富了神经—内分泌—免疫调节网络的知识 。 Brain lateralization is a universal phenomenon, and now more and more studies have proved brain lateralization can influence the immune function greatly. Through ablation experiment in different cerebral regions of animals and clinical investigation, it is suggested that two hemispheres could induce opposite effects on immune response. In addition, it has been confirmed that there is notable association between behavioral lateralization and immune reactivity in animals or humans. Recent studies also indicate that brain asymmetry are involved in the production of cytokines as well. On the whole, the knowledge that brain lateralization modulates the immune system asymmetrically enriches the theory of neuro-endo-immune network, and opened up greater vistas for clinical researches.
