摘要
自六十年代初以来,现代语言学领域一直存在着不少有关人类语言是连统体的说法。这种说法对于语言研究危害很大,理论语言学工作者不再能对语言现象做出任何有意义的概括,语言科学也将不存在。因此,研究许国璋教授有关人类语言可分离的论点具有深远的意义。
This paper studies one of the late professor Xu Guozhang's theses that human language is discrete. It is made up of three parts. Part one gives a definition of discreteness. Part two briefly reviews the issue of whether or not human language is discrete. Part three accounts for the reason why we must take human language as discrete rather than continuous.
