As a new discipline,aesthetic linguistics is the study of aesthetic attributes of language and of properties and laws of daily speech events and speech acts which serve as communicative activities as well as aesthetic objects.The theoretical points in this monograph can be summed up as follows:(1)beauty of speech at the two levels and its generating mechanism;(2)the aesthetic choices at the structure and various levels of language;(3) beauty of speech events and the strategies to pursue beauty of speech and so on.
