very fifteenth of the first moon of the year of the 10th century, the government would hold the activities of lighting the lamps in Mogaoku.The manuscripts “Ran deng wen”(of Lighting the Lamps),which are collected in the present paper are the records of the activities. They are the same as the manuscripts which recorded the other Buddhist activities at same time,and they not only contain the contents of the activities, but also reflect the social historical backhroungd and have profound humane connotations.
