摘要
列举了古今中外若干具有代表意义的翻译标准,分析了同异,出于种种原因,不赞同以“等值”,“信”,“忠实”作为翻译标准。提出翻译的价值由社会需要体现,而翻译的优劣由社会实践加以检验。
The writer has listed many Chinese and foreign criteria of translation from the ancient times to the present and analyzed their similarities and differences. The author shares with some scholars the idea that 'equivalence', 'trust', 'being true (faithful) to the original' should not be regarded as one of the criteria of translation for many reasons,and claims that the values of translation should be weighed by social needs and that the quality of translated material is to be tested by social practice.
