The mechanism of transient heat transfer during the burn-off of carbon deposited in catalyst pellets in the fluidized bed reactor is studied, and two models for the area of heat transfer between gas and solid and transient heat transfer of bed are developed. The evaluated values of model for a set of realistic operating conditions are compared with those measured. It is found that experimental behavior is in good agreement with the model. The result shows that the temperature of solid differs considerably from that of gas during regeneration.
