摘要
王曾是北宋前期著名的政治家,兼文武之道、秉外交之赋。在出使辽国的过程中,面对挑衅不卑不亢、从容应对,维护了宋朝的国威和尊严。他的"夷夏之防"观念也颇具前瞻性。同时,王曾出使契丹后所写的《上契丹事》,不但开阔了宋人的视野,还为后人了解契丹地理环境、路程形势以及北部少数民族的风土人情等提供了珍贵的资料。
