摘要
农村外出务工群体在消费观念与生活方式等方面往往都表现出与其客观身份和收入水平的“悖反性特征”,炫耀性消费问题尤为突出。本文从社会认同理论出发,深入挖掘农村外出务工群体进行炫耀性消费的动机,并利用2010年和2018年CFPS调查数据,实证分析驱动该群体产生炫耀性消费的因素。本文研究发现:一是与非外出务工群体相比,农村外出务工群体为了获得身份的认同往往会进行炫耀性消费;二是教育水平可显著抑制农村外出务工群体的炫耀性消费倾向;三是农村外出务工群体的炫耀性消费倾向呈现明显的区域异质性特征,东部地区的农村外出务工群体的炫耀性消费倾向明显高于中西部地区。基于此,本文提出有助于引导农村外出务工群体树立适度消费观念的政策建议。
The rural migrant workers often show contradictory characteristics in their consumption concepts and lifestyles in relation to their objective identities and income levels,and the problem of luxury consumption is particularly prominent.Based on social identity theory,the paper studies the motivation of rural migrant workers to make luxury consumption and empirically analyzes drivers of luxury consumption by using CFPS data.The major findings are as follows:firstly,compared with non migrant workers,rural migrant workers tend to make luxury consumption in order to gain social identity;secondly,education levels can significantly inhibit the luxury consumption tendency of rural migrant workers;thirdly,the conspicuous consumption tendency of rural migrant workers shows obvious regional heterogeneity,with the luxury consumption tendency of rural migrant workers in the eastern region being significantly higher than that in the central and western regions.What's more,this paper puts forward policy suggestions to help guide rural migrant workers to establish moderate consumption concepts.
