文摘Nuclear isomers play essential roles in various fields, including stellar nucleosynthesis, nuclear clocks, nuclear batteries, clean nuclear energy,and-ray lasers.Recent technological advances in high-intensity lasers have made it possible to excite or de-excite nuclear isomers using table-top laser equipment.Utilizing a particle-in-cell code,we investigate the interaction of a laser with a nanowire array and calculate the production rates of the^(73m)Ge(E_(1)=13.3 keV)and^(107m)Ag(E_(1)=93.1 keV)isomers.For^(73m1)Ge,production by Coulomb excitation is found to contribute a peak efficiency of 1.0×10^(19) particles s^(−1)J^(−1),while nuclear excitation by electron capture(NEEC)contributes a peak of 1.65×10^(11)particles s^(−1)J^(−1).These results indicate a high isomeric production ratio,as well as demonstrating the potential for confirming the existence of NEEC,a long-expected but so far experimentally unobserved fundamental process.

文摘Active target time projection chambers are state-of-the-art tools in the field of low-energy nuclear physics and are particularly suitable for experiments using low-intensity radioactive ion beams or gamma rays. The Fudan multi-purpose active target time projection chamber(fMeta-TPC)with 2048 channels was developed to studyα-clustering nuclei. This study focused on the photonuclear reaction with a laser Compton scattering gamma source, particularly for the decay of the highly excitedαcluster state. The design of fMeta-TPC is described in this paper.A comprehensive evaluation of its offline performance was conducted using an ultraviolet laser and ^(241)Amαsource.The results showed that the intrinsic angular resolution of the detector was within 0.30°,and the detector had an energy resolution of 6.85%for 3.0 MeVαparticles. The gain uniformity of the detector was approximately 10%(RMS/Mean),as tested by the ^(55)Fe X-ray source.

文摘In recent years, the gap between the supply and demand of medical radioisotopes has increased, necessitating new methods for producing medical radioisotopes.Photonuclear reactions based on gamma sources have unique advantages in terms of producing high specific activity and innovative medical radioisotopes. However, the lack of experimental data on reaction cross sections for photonuclear reactions of medical radioisotopes of interest has severely limited the development and production of photonuclear transmutation medical radioisotopes. In this study, the entire process of the generation, decay, and measurement of medical radioisotopes was simulated using online gamma activation and offline gamma measurements combined with a shielding gamma-ray spectrometer.Based on a quasi-monochromatic gamma beam from the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source(SLEGS),the feasibility of this measurement of production cross section for surveyed medi-cal radioisotopes was simulated, and specific solutions for measuring medical radioisotopes with ultra-low production cross sections were provided. The feasibility of this method for high-precision measurements of the reaction cross section of medical radioisotopes was demonstrated.

文摘To ensure agreement between theoretical calculations and experimental data, parameters to selected nuclear physics models are perturbed and fine-tuned in nuclear data evaluations. This approach assumes that the chosen set of models accurately represents the‘true’distribution of considered observables.Furthermore, the models are chosen globally, indicating their applicability across the entire energy range of interest. However, this approach overlooks uncertainties inherent in the models themselves. In this work,we propose that instead of selecting globally a winning model set and proceeding with it as if it was the‘true’model set,we,instead, take a weighted average over multiple models within a Bayesian model averaging(BMA)framework, each weighted by its posterior probability. The method involves executing a set of TALYS calculations by randomly varying multiple nuclear physics models and their parameters to yield a vector of calculated observables.Next, computed likelihood function values at each incident energy point were then combined with the prior distributions to obtain updated posterior distributions for selected cross sections and the elastic angular distributions. As the cross sections and elastic angular distributions were updated locally on a per-energy-point basis, the approach typically results in discontinuities or“kinks”in the cross section curves, and these were addressed using spline interpolation. The proposed BMA method was applied to the evaluation of proton-induced reactions on ^(58)Ni between 1 and 100 MeV.The results demonstrated a favorable comparison with experimental data as well as with the TENDL-2023 evaluation.

文摘Understanding the equation of state of cold dense matter,i.e.,those inside neutron stars,is a key problem in the multi-messenger astronomical era.In order to facilitate the scientific discussions between different commu-nities in the relevant fields, particularly between nuclear physicists and astrophysicists,we have organized the Dialo-gue at the Dream Field(DDF2024).The participants explored topics of various fields such as pulsar astrophysics, transient phenomena, hadronic and nuclear matter,supra-nuclear matter with quark degree of freedom, numerical relativity. This involved discussions on the mechanisms, model constructions, observational impacts, and introduc-tions of new facilities.In-depth exchanges were carried out through invited talks and free discussions,as well as a visit to view the FAST telescope.
