AN IMPROVED ALL ZERO BLOCK FINDING METHOD BASED ON THE STATISTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF DCT TRANSFORM COEFFICIENTS

In the H.263 video codec related systems, motion estimation and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) have the most computational requirements. In order to reduce complexity of the encoder to dedicate more resources to other functions, according to the study of existing methods, an Improved All Zero Block Finding (IAZBF) method based on the statistic characteristics of DCT coefficients is proposed. Compared with existing methods, IAZBF improves the detecting efficiency by about 50% without importing too much extra computation requirement. Being computed with additions and shifts instead of complicated multiplications, IAZBF is of low computation complexity, especially for low-end processors. In addition, IAZBF upholds picture fidelity and remains compatible with the H.263 bitstream standard. 展开更多

Influence of Design Parameters on Cogging Torque in Directly Driven Permanent Magnet Synchronous Wind Generators

In order to reduce the cogging torque, this paper investigates the influence of some parameters on the cogging torque developed by directly driven permanent magnet synchronous wind generators. Based on the remanent magnetic flux densities, the cogging torque is computed by using finite element method. It is shown that many parameters have influence on cogging torque and the slot and pole number combination has a significant effect on cogging torque. A simple factor has been introduced to indicate the effect of the slot and pole number combination. Some practical experience to reduce the cogging torque was applied to 2 MW three phase permanent magnet synchronous generator at rated speed of 37.5 rpm for wind energy conversion. The simulation and experiment results verify the effect of the proposed method. 展开更多

A clonal selection based memetic algorithm is proposed for solving job shop scheduling problems in this paper. In the proposed algorithm, the clonal selection and the local search mechanism are designed to enhance exploration and exploitation. In the clonal selection mechanism, clonal selection, hypermutation and receptor edit theories are presented to construct an evolutionary searching mechanism which is used for exploration. In the local search mechanism, a simulated annealing local search algorithm based on Nowicki and Smutnicki's neighborhood is presented to exploit local optima. The proposed algorithm is examined using some well-known benchmark problems. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Submarine Magnetic Field Extrapolation Based on Boundary Element Method

In order to master the magnetic field distribution of submarines in the air completely and exactly and study the magnetic stealthy performance of submarine,a mathematic model of submarine magnetic field extrapolation is built based on the boundary element method(BEM).An experiment is designed to measure three components of magnetic field on the envelope surface surrounding a model submarine.The data in different heights above the model submarine are obtained by use of tri-axial magnetometers.The results show that this extrapolation model has good stabilities and high accuracies compared the measured data with the extrapolated data.Moreover,the model can reflect the submarine magnetic field distribution in the air exactly,and is valuable in practical engineering. 展开更多

A novel high performance carrier stored trench bipolar transistor (CSTBT) with a field- modified P-base region is proposed. Due to the p-pillars inserted into the drift region extending the P-base region to the bottom of the trench gate, the electric field around the trench gate is modified, preventing the CSTBT from breakdown in advance caused by a concentration of the electric field at the edge of the trench gate. The p-pillars under the p-well forming the novel P-base region also provide extra paths for hole transportation. Thus, the switching time is also reduced. Simulation results have shown that the blocking voltage (BV) of the novel CSTBT is almost 430 V higher exhibiting avalanche breakdown properties compared with the conventional CSTBT. Moreover, the turn-off time of the novel structure is 0.3μs (17%) shorter than the conventional CSTBT with the same gate length. 展开更多
