Dynamic performance and parameter optimization of a half-vehicle system coupled with an inerter-based X-structure nonlinear energy sink

Inspired by the demand of improving the riding comfort and meeting the lightweight design of the vehicle, an inerter-based X-structure nonlinear energy sink(IXNES) is proposed and applied in the half-vehicle system to enhance the dynamic performance. The X-structure is used as a mechanism to realize the nonlinear stiffness characteristic of the NES, which can realize the flexibility, adjustability, high efficiency, and easy operation of nonlinear stiffness, and is convenient to apply in the vehicle suspension, and the inerter is applied to replacing the mass of the NES based on the mass amplification characteristic. The dynamic model of the half-vehicle system coupled with the IX-NES is established with the Lagrange theory, and the harmonic balance method(HBM) and the pseudo-arc-length method(PALM) are used to obtain the dynamic response under road harmonic excitation. The corresponding dynamic performance under road harmonic and random excitation is evaluated by six performance indices, and compared with that of the original half-vehicle system to show the benefits of the IX-NES. Furthermore, the structural parameters of the IX-NES are optimized with the genetic algorithm. The results show that for road harmonic and random excitation, using the IX-NES can greatly reduce the resonance peaks and root mean square(RMS) values of the front and rear suspension deflections and the front and rear dynamic tire loads, while the resonance peaks and RMS values of the vehicle body vertical and pitching accelerations are slightly larger.When the structural parameters of the IX-NES are optimized, the vehicle body vertical and pitching accelerations of the half-vehicle system could reduce by 2.41% and 1.16%,respectively, and the other dynamic performance indices are within the reasonable ranges.Thus, the IX-NES combines the advantages of the inerter, X-structure, and NES, which improves the dynamic performance of the half-vehicle system and provides an effective option for vibration attenuation in the vehicle engineering. 展开更多

The quasi-static and dynamic compressive mechanical properties of a bullet composite are investigated using the scattered spot technique,an electronic universal testing machine,and a Split–Hopkinson pressure bar.The stress-strain curves under static and dynamic loading are also obtained,and the strain rate effect is analyzed.The rupture structure is observed under a scanning electron microscope,and the microscopic damage mechanism of the bullet composite is examined.Results show that the composite is sensitive to the strain rate,such that the compressive strength of the composite increases with increased strain rate.The relationship of the compressive strength and elastic modulus with the logarithmic strain rate is nonlinear. 展开更多

Hydroformed parts are widely used in industrial automotive parts because of their higher stiffness and fatigue strength and reduced weight relative to their corresponding cast and welded parts.This paper reports a hydraulicforming experimental platform for rectangular tube fittings that was constructed to conduct an experiment on the hydraulic forming of rectangular tube fittings.A finite element model was established on the basis of the fluid–solid coupling method and simulation analysis.The correctness of the simulation analysis and the feasibility of the fluid–solid coupling method for hydraulic forming simulation analysis were verified by comparing the experimental results with the simulation results.On the basis of the simulation analysis of the hydraulic process of the torsion beam using the fluid–solid coupling method,a sliding mold suitable for the hydroforming of torsion beams was designed for its structural characteristics.The effects of fluid characteristics,shaping pressure,axial feed rate,and friction coefficient on the wall thicknesses of torsions beams during formation were investigated.Fluid movement speed was related to tube deformation.Shaping pressure had a significant effect on rounded corners and straight edges.The axial feed speed was increased,and the uneven distribution of wall thicknesses was effectively improved.Although the friction coefficient had a nonsignificant effect on the wall thickness of the ladder-shaped region,it had a significant influence on a large deformation of wall thickness in the V-shaped area.In this paper,a method of fluid-solid coupling simulation analysis and sliding die is proposed to study the high pressure forming law in torsion beam. 展开更多

A novel silicon-on-insulator(SOI) high breakdown voltage(BV) power device with interlaced dielectric trenches(IDT) and N/P pillars is proposed. In the studied structure, the drift region is folded by IDT embedded in the active layer,which results in an increase of length of ionization integral remarkably. The crowding phenomenon of electric field in the corner of IDT is relieved by the N/P pillars. Both traits improve two key factors of BV, the ionization integral length and electric field magnitude, and thus BV is significantly enhanced. The electric field in the dielectric layer is enhanced and a major portion of bias is borne by the oxide layer due to the accumulation of inverse charges(holes) at the corner of IDT.The average value of the lateral electric field of the proposed device reaches 60 V/μm with a 10 μm drift length, which increases by 200% in comparison to the conventional SOI LDMOS, resulting in a breakdown voltage of 607 V. 展开更多

A quasi-solid-state lithium battery is assembled by plasma sprayed amorphous Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12) to provide the outstanding electrochemical stability and better normal interface contact.Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM),Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy(STEM),Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM),and Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(EDS)were used to analyze the structural evolution and performance of plasma sprayed amorphous LTO electrode and ceramic/polymer composite electrolyte before and after electrochemical experiments.By comparing the electrochemical performance of the amorphous LTO electrode and the traditional LTO electrode,the electrochemical behavior of different electrodes is studied.The results show that plasma spraying can prepare an amorphous LTO electrode coating of about 8μm.After 200 electrochemical cycles,the structure of the electrode evolved,and the inside of the electrode fractured and cracks expanded,because of recrystallization at the interface between the rich fluorine compounds and the amorphous LTO electrode.Similarly,the ceramic/polymer composite electrolyte has undergone structural evolution after 200 test cycles.The electrochemical cycle results show that the cycle stability,capacity retention rate,coulomb efficiency,and internal impedance of amorphous LTO electrode are better than traditional LTO electrode.This innovative and facile quasi-solid-state strategy is aimed to promote the intrinsic safety and stability of working lithium battery,shedding light on the development of next-generation high-performance solid-state lithium batteries. 展开更多

Acoustic radiation from the submerged circular cylindrical shell treated with active constrained layer damping

Based on the transfer matrix method of exploring the circular cylindrical shell treated with active constrained layer damping(i.e., ACLD), combined with the analytical solution of the Helmholtz equation for a point source, a multi-point multipole virtual source simulation method is for the first time proposed for solving the acoustic radiation problem of a submerged ACLD shell. This approach, wherein some virtual point sources are assumed to be evenly distributed on the axial line of the cylindrical shell, and the sound pressure could be written in the form of the sum of the wave functions series with the undetermined coefficients, is demonstrated to be accurate to achieve the radiation acoustic pressure of the pulsating and oscillating spheres respectively. Meanwhile, this approach is proved to be accurate to obtain the radiation acoustic pressure for a stiffened cylindrical shell. Then, the chosen number of the virtual distributed point sources and truncated number of the wave functions series are discussed to achieve the approximate radiation acoustic pressure of an ACLD cylindrical shell. Applying this method, different radiation acoustic pressures of a submerged ACLD cylindrical shell with different boundary conditions, different thickness values of viscoelastic and piezoelectric layer, different feedback gains for the piezoelectric layer and coverage of ACLD are discussed in detail. Results show that a thicker thickness and larger velocity gain for the piezoelectric layer and larger coverage of the ACLD layer can obtain a better damping effect for the whole structure in general. Whereas, laying a thicker viscoelastic layer is not always a better treatment to achieve a better acoustic characteristic. 展开更多

The introduction of materials with dual-functionalities,i.e.,the catalytic(adsorption)features to inhibit shuttle effects at the cathode side,and the capability to facilitate homogenous Li-ion fluxes at the anode side,is a promising strategy to realize high performance lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).Herein,a facile and rational organic“ligand-induced”(trimesic acid(TMA))transformation tactic is proposed,which achieves the regulation of electronic performance and d-band center of bimetallic oxides(NiFe_(2)O_(4))to promote bidirectional sulfur conversion kinetics and stabilize the Li plating/striping during the charge/discharge process.The battery assembled with NiFe_(2)O_(4)-TMA modified separator exhibits a remarkable initial specific capacity of 1476.6 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 C,outstanding rate properties(661.1 mAh·g^(-1)at 8.0 C),and excellent cycling ability.The“ligand-induced”transformation tactic proposed in this work will open a whole new possibility for tuning the electronic structure and d-band center to enhance the performance of LSBs. 展开更多

Complex retraction equivalent source method for solving external acoustic problems

In order to overcome the non-unique solution problem of the conventional equivalent source method at the corresponding eigenfrequency,the basic guidelines of adding virtual damping into the equivalent source method is proposed according to the damping characteristics of the imaginary part of the coordinates of the equivalent source point.The complex source point constructed by complex retraction is used to add virtual damping to the equivalent source system,and a complex retractive equivalent source method with unique solution in full wavenumber domain is proposed.The mechanism of the complex retraction equivalent source method in overcoming the non-unique solution problem is described in accordance with the zero-point characteristic of the characteristic indicator function,involving the theory,modeling method and selection of damping parameter.The simulation and analysis of typical acoustic radiation and acoustic scattering problems indicate that the present method can obtain the unique solution in the entire frequency domain simply and effectively for arbitrarily shaped acoustic source.Its computational accuracy and efficiency are equivalent to the conventional equivalent source method,which solves the problem of poor adaptability of the complex radius vector method. 展开更多

Plasma spray-physical vapor deposition(i.e.,PS-PVD)is a promising method for obtaining advanced environmental barrier coatings(EBCs).The EBCs must meet some requirements in the application,in which the thermal cycle performance affects the service lifetime.The preparation of artificial vertical cracks in Yb_(2)SiO_(5) coatings is an effective approach for meeting the requirements above because vertical cracks provide a strain tolerance.To clarify the formation mechanism of vertical cracks during the PSPVD,the effects of coating thickness and substrate temperature on the formation of vertical cracks were investigated.In addition,the interactions of spray powder and plasma flame during coating deposition were also characterized by optical spectroscopy.It is indicated that vertical cracks are formed due to a thermal expansion mismatch between Yb_(2)SiO_(5) and mullite coating,transient cooling after deposition and the nucleation of evaporated Yb_(2)SiO_(5) as well. 展开更多

For complex systems with high nonlinearity and strong coupling,the decoupling control technology based on proportion integration differentiation(PID)neural network(PIDNN)is used to eliminate the coupling between loops.The connection weights of the PIDNN are easy to fall into local optimum due to the use of the gradient descent learning method.In order to solve this problem,a hybrid particle swarm optimization(PSO)and differential evolution(DE)algorithm(PSO-DE)is proposed for optimizing the connection weights of the PIDNN.The DE algorithm is employed as an acceleration operation to help the swarm to get out of local optima traps in case that the optimal result has not been improved after several iterations.Two multivariable controlled plants with strong coupling between input and output pairs are employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Simulation results show t hat the proposed met hod has better decoupling capabilities and control quality than the previous approaches. 展开更多

Based on the classical theory of thin plate and Biot theory, a precise model of the transverse vibrations of a thin rectangular porous plate is proposed. The first order differential equations of the porous plate are derived in the frequency domain. By considering the coupling effect between the solid phase and the fluid phase and without any hypothesis for the fluid displacement, the model presented here is rigorous and close to the real materials. Owing to the use of extended homogeneous capacity precision integration method and precise element method, the model can be applied in higher frequency range than pure numerical methods. This model also easily adapts to various boundary conditions. Numerical results are given for two different porous plates under different excitations and boundary conditions. 展开更多

Electrolyte interface resistance and low ionic conductivity are essential issues for commercializing solid-state lithium metal batteries(SSLMBs).This work details the fabrication of a double-layer solid composite electrolyte(DLSCE)for SSLMBs.The composite comprises poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)and poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)combined with 10 wt.%of Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO),synthesized through an ultraviolet curing process.The ionic conductivity of the DLSCE(2.6×10^(-4) S·cm^(-1))at room temperature is the high lithium-ion transference number(0.57),and the tensile strength is 17.8 MPa.When this DLSCE was assembled,the resulted LFP/DLSCE/Li battery exhibited excellent rate performance,with the discharge specific capacities of 162.4,146.9,93.6,and 64.0 mA·h·g^(-1) at 0.1,0.2,0.5,and 1 C,respectively.Furthermore,the DLScE demonstrates remarkable stability with lithium metal batteries,facilitating the stable operation of a Li/Li symmetric battery for over 200 h at both 0.1 and 0.2 mA-cm^(-2).Notably,the formation of lithium dendrites is also effectively inhibited during cycling.This work provides a novel design strategy and preparation method for solid composite electrolytes. 展开更多

High-definition(HD)maps are key components that provide rich topologic and semantic information for decision-making in vehicle autonomous driving systems.A complete ground orthophoto is usually used as the base image to construct the HD map.The ground orthophoto is obtained through inverse perspective transformation and image mosaicing.During the image mosaicing,multiple consecutive orthophotos are stitched together using pose information and image registration.In this study,wavelet transform is introduced to the image mosaicing process to alleviate the information loss caused by image overlapping.In the orthophoto wavelet transform,high-frequency and low-frequency components are fused using different strategies to form a complete base image with clearer local details.Experimental results show that the accuracy of the orthophotos generated using this method is improved. 展开更多
