A fuzzy linear programming model (FLP) is proposed. On the basis of the inherent fuzziness of QFD system, triangular fuzzy numbers are used to represent all the relationships and correlations, and then, the functional relationships between the customer needs and engineering characteristics and the functional correlations among the engineering characteristics are determined with the information in the house of quality (HoQ) fully used. The fuzzy linear programming (FLP) model aims to find the optimal target values of the engineering characteristics to maximize the customer satisfaction. This paper presents an operational framework of unstructured decision-making approach involving quality function deployment(QFD)in an uncertain linguistic context.Firstly,QFD is extended to the multi-enterprise paradi...This paper presents an operational framework of unstructured decision-making approach involving quality function deployment(QFD)in an uncertain linguistic context.Firstly,QFD is extended to the multi-enterprise paradigm in a real-world manufacturing environment.Secondly,hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets(HFLTSs),which facilitate the management and handling of information equivocality,are designed to construct a house of quality(HoQ)in the product planning process.The technique of computing with words is applied to bridge the gap between mechanisms of the human brain and machine processes with fuzzy linguistic term sets.Thirdly,a multi-enterprise QFD pattern is formulated as an unstructured decision-making problem for alternative infrastructure project selection in a manufacturing organization.The inter-relationships of cooperative partners are directly matched with a back propagation neural network(BPNN)to construct the multi-enterprise manufacturing network.The resilience of the manufacturing organization is considered by formulating an outranking method on the basis of HFLTSs to decide on infrastructure project alternatives.Finally,a real-world example,namely,the prototype manufacturing of an automatic transmission for a vehicle,is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed decision-making approach.展开更多

The goal of new building construction is to maximize value and minimize cost while staying on time and within budget. Translating customer requirements into engineering terms for new construction design is vital for a construction project to be successful. Quality function deployment has been successfully used in product development to capture the voice of the customer and translate it into engineering characteristics. Quality function deployment then carries these parameters into production and service to ensure the voice of the customer is being met with the final product. The house of quality, a tool within quality function deployment, can provide a means for comparison of owner's project requirements and the proposed design, along with identifying how the design decisions impact meeting customer requirements and green building requirements. Quality function deployment can effectively link the project phases through design and construction and into operations and maintenance to ensure the owner's project requirements are met with the final building. This research identifies and categorizes studies of quality function deployment applications in construction.The research method used is a systematic literature review from databases related to quality function deployment in the construction industry published in the periodicals through 2016. Reliability,QoS and energy consumption are three important concerns of cloud service providers.Most of the current research on reliable task deployment in cloud computing focuses on only one or two of the three concer...Reliability,QoS and energy consumption are three important concerns of cloud service providers.Most of the current research on reliable task deployment in cloud computing focuses on only one or two of the three concerns.However,these three factors have intrinsic trade-off relationships.The existing studies show that load concentration can reduce the number of servers and hence save energy.In this paper,we deal with the problem of reliable task deployment in data centers,with the goal of minimizing the number of servers used in cloud data centers under the constraint that the job execution deadline can be met upon single server failure.We propose a QoS-Constrained,Reliable and Energy-efficient task replica deployment(QSRE)algorithm for the problem by combining task replication and re-execution.For each task in a job that cannot finish executing by re-execution within deadline,we initiate two replicas for the task:main task and task replica.Each main task runs on an individual server.The associated task replica is deployed on a backup server and completes part of the whole task load before the main task failure.Different from the main tasks,multiple task replicas can be allocated to the same backup server to reduce the energy consumption of cloud data centers by minimizing the number of servers required for running the task replicas.Specifically,QSRE assigns the task replicas with the longest and the shortest execution time to the backup servers in turn,such that the task replicas can meet the QoS-specified job execution deadline under the main task failure.We conduct experiments through simulations.The experimental results show that QSRE can effectively reduce the number of servers used,while ensuring the reliability and QoS of job execution.展开更多
Driven by the continuous penetration of high data rate services and applications,a large amount of unregulated visible light spectrum is used for communication to fully meet the needs of 6th generation(6G)mobile techn...Driven by the continuous penetration of high data rate services and applications,a large amount of unregulated visible light spectrum is used for communication to fully meet the needs of 6th generation(6G)mobile technologies.Visible light communication(VLC)faces many challenges as a solution that complements existing radio frequency(RF)networks.This paper studies the optimal configuration of LEDs in indoor environments under the constraints of illumination and quality of experience(QoE).Based on the Voronoi tessellation(VT)and centroidal Voronoi tessellation(CVT)theory,combined with the Lloyd’s algorithm,we propose two approaches for optimizing LED deployments to meet the illumination and QoE requirements of all users.Focusing on(i)the minimization of the number of LEDs to be installed in order to meet illumination and average QoE constraints,and(ii)the maximization of the average QoE of users to be served with a fixed number of LEDs.Monte Carlo simulations are carried out for different user distribution compared with hexagonal,square and VT deployment.The simulation results illustrate that under the same conditions,the proposed deployment approach can provide less LEDs and achieve better QoE performance.展开更多
It is expected that for a long time the future road trafc will be composed of both regular vehicles(RVs)and connected autonomous vehicles(CAVs).As a vehicle-to-infrastructure technology dedicated to facilitating CAV u...It is expected that for a long time the future road trafc will be composed of both regular vehicles(RVs)and connected autonomous vehicles(CAVs).As a vehicle-to-infrastructure technology dedicated to facilitating CAV under the mixed trafc fow,roadside units(RSUs)can also improve the quality of information received by CAVs,thereby infuencing the routing behavior of CAV users.This paper explores the possibility of leveraging the RSU deployment to afect the route choices of both CAVs and RVs and the adoption rate of CAVs so as to reduce the network congestion and emissions.To this end,we frst establish a logit-based stochastic user equilibrium model to capture drivers’route choice and vehicle type choice behaviors provided the RSU deployment plan is given.Particularly,CAV users’perception error can be reduced by higher CAV penetration and denser RSUs deployed on the road due to the improved information quality.With the established equilibrium model,the RSU deployment problem is then formulated as a mathematical program with equilibrium constraints.An active-set algorithm is presented to solve the deployment problem efciently.Numerical results suggest that an optimal RSU deployment plan can efectively drive the system towards one with lower network delay and emissions.展开更多
BACKGROUND Appendicitis is a common acute abdominal pain disorder.Laparoscopic appendectomy,a commonly used modality,is associated with less trauma and faster recovery than traditional open appendectomy.However,postop...BACKGROUND Appendicitis is a common acute abdominal pain disorder.Laparoscopic appendectomy,a commonly used modality,is associated with less trauma and faster recovery than traditional open appendectomy.However,postoperative recovery remains an important issue that affects rehabilitation quality and surgical results.AIM To explore the effects of rapid rehabilitation and surgical nursing care on gastrointestinal function recovery and sleep quality among patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy.METHODS A total of 120 patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy at our hospital between January 2019 and March 2024 and for whom complete clinical data were available were selected.Patients were randomly assigned to two groups(n=60 each)using the random number table method.The control group received routine nursing care,while the experimental group received rapid rehabilitation surgical nursing care;all patients continued to receive nursing care until discharge.The recovery of gastrointestinal function,length of hospital stay,complications,Pittsburgh sleep quality index,and nursing satisfaction were compared between groups.RESULTS Following the implementation of effective nursing measures,the times to bowel sound recovery,first exhaust,first defecation,and first feeding were notably shorter in the study vs control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the duration of the first postoperative activity and the length of hospital stay were significantly shorter in the study vs control group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the study group exhibited better sleep quality than the control group(P<0.05).The postoperative complication rate was significantly lower and the nursing satisfaction rate significantly higher in the study vs control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Rapid rehabilitation surgical nursing interventions provided to patients after laparoscopic appendectomy can accelerate their postoperative recovery,reduce the occurrence of complications,and improve their sleep quality and nursing satisfaction.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate the treatment effect of total hip arthroplasty(THA)for intertrochanteric femur fractures(IFF)in elderly patients.Methods:Thirty-two elderly patients with IFF admitted to the hospital from August ...Objective:To evaluate the treatment effect of total hip arthroplasty(THA)for intertrochanteric femur fractures(IFF)in elderly patients.Methods:Thirty-two elderly patients with IFF admitted to the hospital from August 2021 to August 2024 were selected and randomly divided into two groups using a random number table.The experimental group(16 patients)underwent THA surgery,while the control group(16 patients)underwent proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA)surgery.Hip joint function and quality of life indicators were compared between the two groups.Results:Before surgery,there was no significant difference in hip joint function and quality of life scores between the two groups(P>0.05).However,at six months postoperatively,the experimental group had higher hip joint function and quality of life scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate was higher in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05).The complication rate in the experimental group was similar to that in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:THA can improve the clinical efficacy of elderly patients with IFF,minimize postoperative complications,effectively restore hip joint function,and optimize postoperative quality of life.展开更多
Energy supply is one of the most critical challenges of wireless sensor networks(WSNs)and industrial wireless sensor networks(IWSNs).While research on coverage optimization problem(COP)centers on the network’s monito...Energy supply is one of the most critical challenges of wireless sensor networks(WSNs)and industrial wireless sensor networks(IWSNs).While research on coverage optimization problem(COP)centers on the network’s monitoring coverage,this research focuses on the power banks’energy supply coverage.The study of 2-D and 3-D spaces is typical in IWSN,with the realistic environment being more complex with obstacles(i.e.,machines).A 3-D surface is the field of interest(FOI)in this work with the established hybrid power bank deployment model for the energy supply COP optimization of IWSN.The hybrid power bank deployment model is highly adaptive and flexible for new or existing plants already using the IWSN system.The model improves the power supply to a more considerable extent with the least number of power bank deployments.The main innovation in this work is the utilization of a more practical surface model with obstacles and training while improving the convergence speed and quality of the heuristic algorithm.An overall probabilistic coverage rate analysis of every point on the FOI is provided,not limiting the scope to target points or areas.Bresenham’s algorithm is extended from 2-D to 3-D surface to enhance the probabilistic covering model for coverage measurement.A dynamic search strategy(DSS)is proposed to modify the artificial bee colony(ABC)and balance the exploration and exploitation ability for better convergence toward eliminating NP-hard deployment problems.Further,the cellular automata(CA)is utilized to enhance the convergence speed.The case study based on two typical FOI in the IWSN shows that the CA scheme effectively speeds up the optimization process.Comparative experiments are conducted on four benchmark functions to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the ABC and gbest-guided ABC(GABC)algorithms.The results show that the proposed energy coverage optimization method based on the hybrid power bank deployment model generates more accurate results than the results obtained by similar algorithms(i.e.,ABC,GABC).The proposed model is,therefore,effective and efficient for optimization in the IWSN.展开更多

BACKGROUND Ischemic stroke(IS)is a widely recognized disease characterized by high preva-lence,mortality,morbidity,disability,and recurrence rates.It ranks prominently in terms of mortality,constituting 60%-80%of stro...BACKGROUND Ischemic stroke(IS)is a widely recognized disease characterized by high preva-lence,mortality,morbidity,disability,and recurrence rates.It ranks prominently in terms of mortality,constituting 60%-80%of stroke cases.AIM To explore the impact of comprehensive nursing care on the quality of life and swallowing function in individuals diagnosed with IS.METHODS This study comprised 172 patients with IS admitted to our hospital between February 2018 to March 2021.The participants were divided into two groups,namely the control group(n=80)receiving routine care and the research group(n=92)receiving comprehensive care.Various assessment scales,including the standard swallowing function assessment scale(SSA),National Institutes of Health Stroke scale(NIHSS),European stroke scale(ESS),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),Barthel index(BI),and the motor func-tion assessment scale(MAS),were employed to evaluate the improvement in swallowing function,neurological deficits,clinical outcomes,anxiety,depression,daily living activities,and motor function before and after care.Furthermore,the study compared the occurrence of adverse reactions during the nursing period,life quality before and after the intervention,rehabilitation compliance,and nursing satisfaction between the two groups.RESULTS After the nursing intervention,the research group exhibited significantly improved SSA and NIHSS scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).Moreover,both groups demonstrated significant reductions in SAS and SDS scores(P<0.05),with the research group showing more obvious advantages(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the research group displayed significantly better ESS,BI,and MAS scores(P<0.05),coupled with a lower incidence of adverse reactions(P<0.05).Additionally,the research group demonstrated markedly higher levels of life quality,rehabilitation compliance,and nursing satisfaction compared to the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Comprehensive nursing effectively improved swallowing function,quality of life,and patient satisfaction,high-lighting its clinical significance.展开更多
BACKGROUND Studies on varicose veins have focused its effects on physical function;however,whether nonsurgical treatments alter muscle oxygenation or physical function remains unclear.Moreover,the differences in such ...BACKGROUND Studies on varicose veins have focused its effects on physical function;however,whether nonsurgical treatments alter muscle oxygenation or physical function remains unclear.Moreover,the differences in such functions between individuals with varicose veins and healthy individuals remain unclear.AIM To investigate changes in physical function and the quality of life(QOL)following nonsurgical treatment of patients with varicose veins and determine the changes in their muscle oxygenation during activity.METHODS We enrolled 37 participants(those with varicose veins,n=17;healthy individuals,n=20).We performed the following measurements pre-and post-nonsurgical treatment in the varicose vein patients and healthy individuals:Calf muscle oxygenation during the two-minute step test,open eyes one-leg stance,30 s sit-to-stand test,visual analog scale(VAS)for pain,Pittsburgh sleep quality index,physical activity assessment,and QOL assessment.RESULTS Varicose veins patients and healthy individuals differ in most variables(physical function,sleep quality,and QOL).Varicose veins patients showed significant differences between pre-and post-nonsurgical treatment—results in the 30 sit-to-stand test[14.41(2.45)to 16.35(4.11),P=0.018],two-minute step test[162.29(25.98)to 170.65(23.80),P=0.037],VAS for pain[5.35(1.90)to 3.88(1.73),P=0.004],and QOL[39.34(19.98)to 26.69(17.02),P=0.005];however,no significant difference was observed for muscle oxygenation.CONCLUSION Nonsurgical treatment improved lower extremity function and QOL in varicose veins patients,bringing their condition close to that of healthy individuals.Future studies should include patients with severe varicose veins requiring surgery to confirm our findings.展开更多

BACKGROUND Sepsis,as a non-limiting host infection disease,can be accompanied by serious complications such as organ failure,which seriously threatens patient quality of life.AIM To investigate the effect of early ste...BACKGROUND Sepsis,as a non-limiting host infection disease,can be accompanied by serious complications such as organ failure,which seriously threatens patient quality of life.AIM To investigate the effect of early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation on cardiopulmonary function and quality of life in patients evacuated from mechanical ventilation with sepsis.METHODS A total of 80 patients with sepsis who were hospitalized in our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected and divided into the observation group(n=40)and the control group(n=40)according to the random number table method.The observation group was treated with early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation,and the control group was treated with a conventional treatment regimen.Cardiac function indexes(central venous pressure,cardiac troponin I,B-type brain natriuretic peptide),lung function indicators(diaphragmatic mobility,changes in central venous oxygen saturation,oxygenation index),and quality of life(Quality of Life Evaluation Scale)were compared between the two groups after treatment.RESULTS After treatment,the central venous pressure,diaphragm mobility,central venous oxygen saturation,oxygenation index,and Quality of Life Evaluation Scale scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The observation group was less than that of the control group for other parameters,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation can effectively enhance cardiac and pulmonary function and improve the quality of life in patients evacuated from mechanical ventilation with sepsis.展开更多
BACKGROUND Post-stroke depression(PSD)is a common and debilitating condition affecting stroke survivors,significantly impacting their recovery and overall quality of life.AIM To assess the effects of early PSD screeni...BACKGROUND Post-stroke depression(PSD)is a common and debilitating condition affecting stroke survivors,significantly impacting their recovery and overall quality of life.AIM To assess the effects of early PSD screening on functional outcomes,quality of life,and mortality.METHODS From an initial pool of 1065 articles,6 studies met the inclusion criteria and were selected for analysis.Functional outcomes were measured using the functional independence measure(FIM).RESULTS The analysis revealed a significant improvement in FIM scores for a PSD scree-ning group compared to controls[standardized mean difference(SMD)=8.90,95%confidence interval(CI):4.65-13.15,P<0.01].Quality of life was assessed using the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale,with the screening group showing significantly higher scores(SMD=20.83,95%CI:15.27-26.38,P<0.01).Mortality analysis indicated a reduction in five-year mortality rates for the PSD screening group.CONCLUSION Early PSD screening enhances functional recovery,improves quality of life,and reduces mortality rates in stroke survivors.Thus,integrating PSD screening into routine stroke care improves long-term outcomes for patients.展开更多

The fuzzy linear programming (FLP) model aims to find the optimal target values of the engineering characteristics to maximize the customer satisfaction. Finally, the proposed method is illustrated by a numerical example.

文摘This paper presents an operational framework of unstructured decision-making approach involving quality function deployment(QFD)in an uncertain linguistic context.Firstly,QFD is extended to the multi-enterprise paradigm in a real-world manufacturing environment.Secondly,hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets(HFLTSs),which facilitate the management and handling of information equivocality,are designed to construct a house of quality(HoQ)in the product planning process.The technique of computing with words is applied to bridge the gap between mechanisms of the human brain and machine processes with fuzzy linguistic term sets.Thirdly,a multi-enterprise QFD pattern is formulated as an unstructured decision-making problem for alternative infrastructure project selection in a manufacturing organization.The inter-relationships of cooperative partners are directly matched with a back propagation neural network(BPNN)to construct the multi-enterprise manufacturing network.The resilience of the manufacturing organization is considered by formulating an outranking method on the basis of HFLTSs to decide on infrastructure project alternatives.Finally,a real-world example,namely,the prototype manufacturing of an automatic transmission for a vehicle,is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed decision-making approach.
文摘By introducing sequential and logical relationship factors into ASI (American SuppliersInstitute) Clausing/Makabe-QFD Model, a more practical model of QFD (Quality FunctionDeployment) is presented. Based on that the quality requirements are converted into designspecifications and technical measures step by step in this model, logical relationship factors canclassify the related Hows (how to do, the quality measures) into groups, each of which should belogical to individual What (what to do, the quality goal). Sequential factors can express theimplementing sequence of Hows. A feasibility evaluation method is proposed to eliminate the inferiorgroups of Hows. This improved QFD model can provide enough information to produce a practicalquality plan.
文摘The construction of new buildings represents a significant investment. The goal of new building construction is to maximize value and minimize cost while staying on time and within budget. Translating customer requirements into engineering terms for new construction design is vital for a construction project to be successful. Quality function deployment has been successfully used in product development to capture the voice of the customer and translate it into engineering characteristics. Quality function deployment then carries these parameters into production and service to ensure the voice of the customer is being met with the final product. The house of quality, a tool within quality function deployment, can provide a means for comparison of owner's project requirements and the proposed design, along with identifying how the design decisions impact meeting customer requirements and green building requirements. Quality function deployment can effectively link the project phases through design and construction and into operations and maintenance to ensure the owner's project requirements are met with the final building. This research identifies and categorizes studies of quality function deployment applications in construction.The research method used is a systematic literature review from databases related to quality function deployment in the construction industry published in the periodicals through 2016. The principal findings of implementations,practices, and integrated approaches are then summarized.This article intends to propel further research of quality function deployment in the construction sector.

文摘Quality function deployment(QFD)is an effective method that helps companies analyze customer requirements(CRs).These CRs are then turned into product or service characteristics,which are translated to other attributes.With the QFD method,companies could design or improve the quality of products or services close to CRs.To increase the effectiveness of QFD,we propose an improved method based on Pythagorean fuzzy sets(PFSs).We apply an extended method to obtain the group consensus evaluation matrix.We then use a combined weight determining method to integrate former weights to objective weights derived from the evaluation matrix.To determine the exact score of each PFS in the evaluation matrix,we develop an improved score function.Lastly,we apply the proposed method to a case study on assembly robot design evaluation.

文摘Quality function development (QFD) matrix was introduced as a tool to measure the quality management performance of contractors. Engineering quality, quality management system components, and their relationship were defined. An integrated engineering quality system was decomposed into seven factors and the quality management system was composed of eight factors. Importance weights of all factors and their relationship point were acquired by questionnaires and interviews. Then, QFD matrix was formulated and the calculating process was proposed. This model was verified on a case study. The result shows that it is useful for contractor in benchmarking themselves and invaluable for owners in the process of deciding contractor.
文摘Reliability,QoS and energy consumption are three important concerns of cloud service providers.Most of the current research on reliable task deployment in cloud computing focuses on only one or two of the three concerns.However,these three factors have intrinsic trade-off relationships.The existing studies show that load concentration can reduce the number of servers and hence save energy.In this paper,we deal with the problem of reliable task deployment in data centers,with the goal of minimizing the number of servers used in cloud data centers under the constraint that the job execution deadline can be met upon single server failure.We propose a QoS-Constrained,Reliable and Energy-efficient task replica deployment(QSRE)algorithm for the problem by combining task replication and re-execution.For each task in a job that cannot finish executing by re-execution within deadline,we initiate two replicas for the task:main task and task replica.Each main task runs on an individual server.The associated task replica is deployed on a backup server and completes part of the whole task load before the main task failure.Different from the main tasks,multiple task replicas can be allocated to the same backup server to reduce the energy consumption of cloud data centers by minimizing the number of servers required for running the task replicas.Specifically,QSRE assigns the task replicas with the longest and the shortest execution time to the backup servers in turn,such that the task replicas can meet the QoS-specified job execution deadline under the main task failure.We conduct experiments through simulations.The experimental results show that QSRE can effectively reduce the number of servers used,while ensuring the reliability and QoS of job execution.

文摘Driven by the continuous penetration of high data rate services and applications,a large amount of unregulated visible light spectrum is used for communication to fully meet the needs of 6th generation(6G)mobile technologies.Visible light communication(VLC)faces many challenges as a solution that complements existing radio frequency(RF)networks.This paper studies the optimal configuration of LEDs in indoor environments under the constraints of illumination and quality of experience(QoE).Based on the Voronoi tessellation(VT)and centroidal Voronoi tessellation(CVT)theory,combined with the Lloyd’s algorithm,we propose two approaches for optimizing LED deployments to meet the illumination and QoE requirements of all users.Focusing on(i)the minimization of the number of LEDs to be installed in order to meet illumination and average QoE constraints,and(ii)the maximization of the average QoE of users to be served with a fixed number of LEDs.Monte Carlo simulations are carried out for different user distribution compared with hexagonal,square and VT deployment.The simulation results illustrate that under the same conditions,the proposed deployment approach can provide less LEDs and achieve better QoE performance.

文摘It is expected that for a long time the future road trafc will be composed of both regular vehicles(RVs)and connected autonomous vehicles(CAVs).As a vehicle-to-infrastructure technology dedicated to facilitating CAV under the mixed trafc fow,roadside units(RSUs)can also improve the quality of information received by CAVs,thereby infuencing the routing behavior of CAV users.This paper explores the possibility of leveraging the RSU deployment to afect the route choices of both CAVs and RVs and the adoption rate of CAVs so as to reduce the network congestion and emissions.To this end,we frst establish a logit-based stochastic user equilibrium model to capture drivers’route choice and vehicle type choice behaviors provided the RSU deployment plan is given.Particularly,CAV users’perception error can be reduced by higher CAV penetration and denser RSUs deployed on the road due to the improved information quality.With the established equilibrium model,the RSU deployment problem is then formulated as a mathematical program with equilibrium constraints.An active-set algorithm is presented to solve the deployment problem efciently.Numerical results suggest that an optimal RSU deployment plan can efectively drive the system towards one with lower network delay and emissions.
文摘BACKGROUND Appendicitis is a common acute abdominal pain disorder.Laparoscopic appendectomy,a commonly used modality,is associated with less trauma and faster recovery than traditional open appendectomy.However,postoperative recovery remains an important issue that affects rehabilitation quality and surgical results.AIM To explore the effects of rapid rehabilitation and surgical nursing care on gastrointestinal function recovery and sleep quality among patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy.METHODS A total of 120 patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy at our hospital between January 2019 and March 2024 and for whom complete clinical data were available were selected.Patients were randomly assigned to two groups(n=60 each)using the random number table method.The control group received routine nursing care,while the experimental group received rapid rehabilitation surgical nursing care;all patients continued to receive nursing care until discharge.The recovery of gastrointestinal function,length of hospital stay,complications,Pittsburgh sleep quality index,and nursing satisfaction were compared between groups.RESULTS Following the implementation of effective nursing measures,the times to bowel sound recovery,first exhaust,first defecation,and first feeding were notably shorter in the study vs control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the duration of the first postoperative activity and the length of hospital stay were significantly shorter in the study vs control group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the study group exhibited better sleep quality than the control group(P<0.05).The postoperative complication rate was significantly lower and the nursing satisfaction rate significantly higher in the study vs control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Rapid rehabilitation surgical nursing interventions provided to patients after laparoscopic appendectomy can accelerate their postoperative recovery,reduce the occurrence of complications,and improve their sleep quality and nursing satisfaction.
文摘Objective:To evaluate the treatment effect of total hip arthroplasty(THA)for intertrochanteric femur fractures(IFF)in elderly patients.Methods:Thirty-two elderly patients with IFF admitted to the hospital from August 2021 to August 2024 were selected and randomly divided into two groups using a random number table.The experimental group(16 patients)underwent THA surgery,while the control group(16 patients)underwent proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA)surgery.Hip joint function and quality of life indicators were compared between the two groups.Results:Before surgery,there was no significant difference in hip joint function and quality of life scores between the two groups(P>0.05).However,at six months postoperatively,the experimental group had higher hip joint function and quality of life scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate was higher in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05).The complication rate in the experimental group was similar to that in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:THA can improve the clinical efficacy of elderly patients with IFF,minimize postoperative complications,effectively restore hip joint function,and optimize postoperative quality of life.
文摘Energy supply is one of the most critical challenges of wireless sensor networks(WSNs)and industrial wireless sensor networks(IWSNs).While research on coverage optimization problem(COP)centers on the network’s monitoring coverage,this research focuses on the power banks’energy supply coverage.The study of 2-D and 3-D spaces is typical in IWSN,with the realistic environment being more complex with obstacles(i.e.,machines).A 3-D surface is the field of interest(FOI)in this work with the established hybrid power bank deployment model for the energy supply COP optimization of IWSN.The hybrid power bank deployment model is highly adaptive and flexible for new or existing plants already using the IWSN system.The model improves the power supply to a more considerable extent with the least number of power bank deployments.The main innovation in this work is the utilization of a more practical surface model with obstacles and training while improving the convergence speed and quality of the heuristic algorithm.An overall probabilistic coverage rate analysis of every point on the FOI is provided,not limiting the scope to target points or areas.Bresenham’s algorithm is extended from 2-D to 3-D surface to enhance the probabilistic covering model for coverage measurement.A dynamic search strategy(DSS)is proposed to modify the artificial bee colony(ABC)and balance the exploration and exploitation ability for better convergence toward eliminating NP-hard deployment problems.Further,the cellular automata(CA)is utilized to enhance the convergence speed.The case study based on two typical FOI in the IWSN shows that the CA scheme effectively speeds up the optimization process.Comparative experiments are conducted on four benchmark functions to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the ABC and gbest-guided ABC(GABC)algorithms.The results show that the proposed energy coverage optimization method based on the hybrid power bank deployment model generates more accurate results than the results obtained by similar algorithms(i.e.,ABC,GABC).The proposed model is,therefore,effective and efficient for optimization in the IWSN.

文摘Coronary artery disease and aortic valve stenosis are highly prevalent cardio-vascular diseases worldwide,resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality.Surgical interventions,such as coronary artery bypass grafting and surgical aortic valve replacement,offer significant therapeutic benefits,including enhanced postoperative quality of life(QoL)and functional capacity,which are key indi-cators of surgical success.This editorial reviews recent studies on postoperative QoL and functional outcomes in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.Factors such as preoperative health,age,intensive care unit stay duration,surgical risk,and perioperative complications could influence these outcomes.Cardiac rehabil-itation is pivotal in enhancing patient function,reducing frailty and improving long-term QoL.

文摘BACKGROUND Ischemic stroke(IS)is a widely recognized disease characterized by high preva-lence,mortality,morbidity,disability,and recurrence rates.It ranks prominently in terms of mortality,constituting 60%-80%of stroke cases.AIM To explore the impact of comprehensive nursing care on the quality of life and swallowing function in individuals diagnosed with IS.METHODS This study comprised 172 patients with IS admitted to our hospital between February 2018 to March 2021.The participants were divided into two groups,namely the control group(n=80)receiving routine care and the research group(n=92)receiving comprehensive care.Various assessment scales,including the standard swallowing function assessment scale(SSA),National Institutes of Health Stroke scale(NIHSS),European stroke scale(ESS),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),Barthel index(BI),and the motor func-tion assessment scale(MAS),were employed to evaluate the improvement in swallowing function,neurological deficits,clinical outcomes,anxiety,depression,daily living activities,and motor function before and after care.Furthermore,the study compared the occurrence of adverse reactions during the nursing period,life quality before and after the intervention,rehabilitation compliance,and nursing satisfaction between the two groups.RESULTS After the nursing intervention,the research group exhibited significantly improved SSA and NIHSS scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).Moreover,both groups demonstrated significant reductions in SAS and SDS scores(P<0.05),with the research group showing more obvious advantages(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the research group displayed significantly better ESS,BI,and MAS scores(P<0.05),coupled with a lower incidence of adverse reactions(P<0.05).Additionally,the research group demonstrated markedly higher levels of life quality,rehabilitation compliance,and nursing satisfaction compared to the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Comprehensive nursing effectively improved swallowing function,quality of life,and patient satisfaction,high-lighting its clinical significance.

文摘BACKGROUND Studies on varicose veins have focused its effects on physical function;however,whether nonsurgical treatments alter muscle oxygenation or physical function remains unclear.Moreover,the differences in such functions between individuals with varicose veins and healthy individuals remain unclear.AIM To investigate changes in physical function and the quality of life(QOL)following nonsurgical treatment of patients with varicose veins and determine the changes in their muscle oxygenation during activity.METHODS We enrolled 37 participants(those with varicose veins,n=17;healthy individuals,n=20).We performed the following measurements pre-and post-nonsurgical treatment in the varicose vein patients and healthy individuals:Calf muscle oxygenation during the two-minute step test,open eyes one-leg stance,30 s sit-to-stand test,visual analog scale(VAS)for pain,Pittsburgh sleep quality index,physical activity assessment,and QOL assessment.RESULTS Varicose veins patients and healthy individuals differ in most variables(physical function,sleep quality,and QOL).Varicose veins patients showed significant differences between pre-and post-nonsurgical treatment—results in the 30 sit-to-stand test[14.41(2.45)to 16.35(4.11),P=0.018],two-minute step test[162.29(25.98)to 170.65(23.80),P=0.037],VAS for pain[5.35(1.90)to 3.88(1.73),P=0.004],and QOL[39.34(19.98)to 26.69(17.02),P=0.005];however,no significant difference was observed for muscle oxygenation.CONCLUSION Nonsurgical treatment improved lower extremity function and QOL in varicose veins patients,bringing their condition close to that of healthy individuals.Future studies should include patients with severe varicose veins requiring surgery to confirm our findings.

文摘Hu et al explored the impact of comprehensive nursing model on swallowing function and quality of life in patients with ischemic stroke.They divided 172 patients into the control group(routine care)and the research group(comprehensive care),and used standard scales to evaluate the swallowing function,neurological deficit,anxiety and depression,daily living ability,and exercise of the two groups of patients before and after care.Changes in indicators of function,quality of life,and compliance.The results showed that compared with the control group,patients in the study group achieved significant improvements in various indicators,with a lower incidence of adverse reactions and higher satisfaction with care.These data suggest that the comprehensive nursing model can significantly improve the swallowing function,quality of life and satisfaction of patients with ischemic stroke.In the future,the development of comprehensive nursing models needs to focus on technological innovation,humanized services,continuing education and training,multi-disciplinary collaboration,optimal allocation of resources,standardized practice and evaluation,etc.,in order to improve nursing effects and promote the improvement of medical service quality.
文摘BACKGROUND Sepsis,as a non-limiting host infection disease,can be accompanied by serious complications such as organ failure,which seriously threatens patient quality of life.AIM To investigate the effect of early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation on cardiopulmonary function and quality of life in patients evacuated from mechanical ventilation with sepsis.METHODS A total of 80 patients with sepsis who were hospitalized in our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected and divided into the observation group(n=40)and the control group(n=40)according to the random number table method.The observation group was treated with early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation,and the control group was treated with a conventional treatment regimen.Cardiac function indexes(central venous pressure,cardiac troponin I,B-type brain natriuretic peptide),lung function indicators(diaphragmatic mobility,changes in central venous oxygen saturation,oxygenation index),and quality of life(Quality of Life Evaluation Scale)were compared between the two groups after treatment.RESULTS After treatment,the central venous pressure,diaphragm mobility,central venous oxygen saturation,oxygenation index,and Quality of Life Evaluation Scale scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The observation group was less than that of the control group for other parameters,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Early stepwise cardiopulmonary rehabilitation can effectively enhance cardiac and pulmonary function and improve the quality of life in patients evacuated from mechanical ventilation with sepsis.
文摘BACKGROUND Post-stroke depression(PSD)is a common and debilitating condition affecting stroke survivors,significantly impacting their recovery and overall quality of life.AIM To assess the effects of early PSD screening on functional outcomes,quality of life,and mortality.METHODS From an initial pool of 1065 articles,6 studies met the inclusion criteria and were selected for analysis.Functional outcomes were measured using the functional independence measure(FIM).RESULTS The analysis revealed a significant improvement in FIM scores for a PSD scree-ning group compared to controls[standardized mean difference(SMD)=8.90,95%confidence interval(CI):4.65-13.15,P<0.01].Quality of life was assessed using the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale,with the screening group showing significantly higher scores(SMD=20.83,95%CI:15.27-26.38,P<0.01).Mortality analysis indicated a reduction in five-year mortality rates for the PSD screening group.CONCLUSION Early PSD screening enhances functional recovery,improves quality of life,and reduces mortality rates in stroke survivors.Thus,integrating PSD screening into routine stroke care improves long-term outcomes for patients.
文摘Coronary heart disease and aortic stenosis are prevalent cardiovascular diseases worldwide,leading to morbidity and mortality.Coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG)and surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR)have therapeutic benefits,including improved postoperative quality of life(QoL)and enhanced patient functional capacity which are key indicators of cardiac surgery outcome.In this article,we review the latest studies of QoL outcomes and functional capacity in patients who underwent cardiac surgery.Many standardized instruments are used to evaluate QoL and functional conditions.Preoperative health status,age,length of intensive care unit stay,operative risk,type of procedure,and other pre-,intra-,and postoperative factors affect postoperative QoL.Elderly patients experience impaired physical status soon after cardiac surgery,but it improves in the following period.CABG and SAVR are associated with increases of physical and mental health and functional capacity in the immediate postoperative and the long long-term.Cardiac rehabilitation improves patient functional capacity,QoL,and frailty following cardiac surgery.
