A commercial emulsion and a prepared by our lab emulsion without nano particles were chosen as controls to test the tribological and antibacterial properties of this new emulsion. The load carrying capacity, friction coefficient and average diameter of wear scars were tested by a four-ball machine and the comprehensive antifriction parameter ω was calculated. The wetting angle was also tested using a JC200C1 wetting angle tester. The micro surface and roughness of rolled strips were analyzed to investigate the tribological performance of the recommended new emulsion in strip production. It is shown that the new nano-emulsion possesses a higher load carrying capacity and wetting ability. Therefore the abrasive/plowing wear is reduced more efficiently with the addition of nano particles, and the micro surface is improved. The density of bacteria in the emulsions was tested after the cold rolling experiment. The emulsion breaking ratio and bacteria density were also tested in different time intervals after the cold rolling experiment. The final p H values and bacteria density of different layers of emulsions were measured and the sediment was analyzed by TEM to evaluate the antibacterial behavior of this new emulsion. It is shown that the density of microbial colonies which led to a corruption of emulsions was decreased about 90% and the effective antibacterial period was prolonged.展开更多

In this study, we synthesized grafted PMMA/PEI core-shell nanoparticles by varying the MMA/PEI content and molecular weight of PEI (Mn = 600, 8000, and 10,000). The size and morphology of the core-shell nanoparticles were characterized by a particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscopy. The nanoparticles were 178 - 408 nm in diameter and swelled in water or methanol by 30 - 75 nm. The size of the nanoparticles increased with MMA contents, whereas the size distribution progressively became homogeneous with increasing molecular weight of PEI. Lastly, we measured CO2 adsorption capacity of the grafted PMMA/PEI core-shell nanoparticles, and we found the capacity to be limited at a level of 0.69 mg, which occurred for nanoparticles prepared from emulsions at a pH value of 11.展开更多

In this work, a three.arm star-like fluorinated polymer was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization ( ATRP ) method and applied as a surfactant in supereriticul carbon dioxide (scCO2 ). Then 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propane sulfonie acid (AMPS) was grafted onto CS (CS-g-PAMPS) in H2O/scCO2 inverse emulsion. The effects of mass ratio of water and surfactants (Rw/s ) and pressure of scCO2 on the grafting reaction were investigated. The grafting rate, partide size, and dispersity in water of CS-g-PAMPS varied greatly as Rw/s and pressure of scCO2 changed. It could be found that the value of Rw/s at 12 and the pressure of scCO2 at 30 MPa were the optimum conditions for the grafting reaction. CS-g-PAMPS prepared in this reaction system has higher grafting rate, smaller particle sizes, and better dispersity in water than those prepared via conventional methods.展开更多

TEM was performed to measure particle sizes. Nitrogenadsorption experiments were carried out to estimate specific surface area, porous distribution and porous ratio by BETand BJH methods. The content of Si-OH in SiO_2 surface was calculated by analysis of the results of hydrogen-oxygencontent mensuration (HOCM). As a result, appropriate heat treatment system and ball milling time are important topreparation for nano-SiO_2 with high activity and mesopores, which are 5~50 nm particles, 5~6 nm average aperture,85%~93% porous ratio, and 51%~55% Si-OH content in surface. The nano-SiO2 was dispersed into crylic acid resin by ultrasonic wave and high-energy ball milling, the influence of nano-SiO2 on shielding property of coatings was investigated. Relation between particle size distribution of original nano-SiO2 and its dispersal in water and alcohol after treatment were analyzed, respectively. The ultraviolet permeation rate of coatings filled with nano-SiO2 was detected by ultraviolet spectral photometer. And the particle size distribution of coatings was examined by TEM. The results show that particle size distribution is comparative convergence and smaller one order of magnitude after dispersal treatment. The size of most nano-SiO2 in coatings is smaller than 100nm, which indicates that the amount of nano-SiO2 in the resin is 20% (solid content of resin), the permeation rate of ultraviolet of composite coatings decreases to 20%. The research of its excellent ultraviolet shielding property mechanism indicates minor size and high surface energy of nano-SiO2 can produce different absorption, reflection and scatter actions to different wavelengths.展开更多

文摘A novel polymer/SiO2 hybrid emulsion(PAES)was prepared by directly mixing colloidal silica with polyacrylate emulsion(PAE)modified by a saline coupling agent. The sol-gel-derived thin films were obtained by addition of co-solvents into the PAES.The effects ofγ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(KH-570)content and co-solvent on the properties of PAES films were investigated.Dynamic laser scattering(DLS)data indicate that the average diameter of PAES(96 nm)is slightly larger than that of PAE(89 nm).Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)photo discloses that colloidal silica particles are dispersed uniformly around polyacrylate particles and some of the colloidal silica particles are adsorbed on the surface of PAE particles. The crosslinking degree data and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectra confirm that the chemical structure of the PAES is changed to form Si-O-Si-polymer crosslinking networks during the film formation.Atomic force microscope(AFM)photos show the solvent induced sol-gel process of colloidal silica and the Si-based polymer distribution on the film surface of the dried PAES.Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)curves demonstrate that the PAES films display much better thermal stability than PAE.
文摘Nano-SiO_2 with high activity and mesopores was prepared through sol-gel synthesis followed by low-temperatureheat treatment and ball milling firstly in our experiments. Nano-SiO_2 with that structure has high surfaceenergy and activity. This process, which has simple facilities and operation rules, is a new way of preparation fornano-SiO_2 with high activity and mesopores.

文摘Green and low cost CO_(2) and CaO were used to stimulate amine emulsions to reveal the responsive behavior of amine emulsions. On this basis,oil-based drilling fluids responsive to CO_(2) and CaO were formulated and their properties were evaluated. The results showed that the amine emulsions inversed from water-in-oil state to oil-in-water state readily and their rheological behavior underwent transitions of decreasing, rising again and decreasing again via induction by CO_(2).These CO_(2) responsive behaviors could be reversed by CaO.Oil-based drilling fluids prepared based on the amine emulsions with oil-water volume ratios of 50:50 to 70:30,densities of 1.4-2.0 g/cm^(3) had good rheological and filtration properties at 160℃;and be readily cleaned up using CO_(2) bubbling. The useless solid phase with low density could be removed efficiently via reducing the viscosity of emulsion by CO_(2) and the residual liquid phase could be restored to the original state by CaO and reused to prepare drilling fluid. The mechanisms analysis indicated that CO_(2)/CaO induced the reversible conversion between amine emulsifiers and their salts, which enabled the reversible regulation of both the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of amine emulsifiers and the emulsion particles’size and finally caused the controllable-reversion of the form and rheology of amine emulsion.

文摘This investigation deals with the free radical polymerization both of (2-methacryloyloxyethyl) trimethyl ammonium chloride (QACEMA) and of diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride (DADMAC) in inverse emulsion. The influences of some factors, such as the concentration of monomers, initiator and emulsifier are discussed. The polymerization rate equations of above two monomers can be written as follows: R(p) = k[M](1.21)[I](0.82)[E](0.57) (for QACEMA) R(p) = k'[M](1.34)[I](0.90)[E](0.62) (for DADMAC)
文摘The present status and development trends of nano-composite coatings were briefly introduced. The research of its excellent ultraviolet shielding property mechanism indicates minor size and high surface energy of nano-SiO2 can produce different absorption, reflection and scatter actions to different wavelengths.
