In order to solve the problem of poor formability caused by different materials and properties in the process of tailor-welded sheets forming,a forming method was proposed to change the stress state of tailor-welded s...In order to solve the problem of poor formability caused by different materials and properties in the process of tailor-welded sheets forming,a forming method was proposed to change the stress state of tailor-welded sheets by covering the tailor-welded sheets with better plastic properties overlapping sheets.At the same time,the interface friction effect between the overlapping and tailor-welded sheets was utilized to control the stress magnitude and further improve the formability and quality of the tailor-welded sheets.In this work,the bulging process of the tailor-welded overlapping sheets was taken as the research object.Aluminum alloy tailor-welded overlapping sheets bulging specimens were studied by a combination of finite element analysis and experimental verification.The results show that the appropriate use of interface friction between tailor-welded and overlapping sheets can improve the formability of tailor-welded sheets and control the flow of weld seam to improve the forming quality.When increasing the interface friction coefficient on the side of tailor-welded sheets with higher strength and decreasing that on the side of tailor-welded sheets with lower strength,the deformation of the tailor-welded sheets are more uniform,the offset of the weld seam is minimal,the limit bulging height is maximal,and the forming quality is optimal.展开更多
At present,the emerging solid-phase friction-based additive manufacturing technology,including friction rolling additive man-ufacturing(FRAM),can only manufacture simple single-pass components.In this study,multi-laye...At present,the emerging solid-phase friction-based additive manufacturing technology,including friction rolling additive man-ufacturing(FRAM),can only manufacture simple single-pass components.In this study,multi-layer multi-pass FRAM-deposited alumin-um alloy samples were successfully prepared using a non-shoulder tool head.The material flow behavior and microstructure of the over-lapped zone between adjacent layers and passes during multi-layer multi-pass FRAM deposition were studied using the hybrid 6061 and 5052 aluminum alloys.The results showed that a mechanical interlocking structure was formed between the adjacent layers and the adja-cent passes in the overlapped center area.Repeated friction and rolling of the tool head led to different degrees of lateral flow and plastic deformation of the materials in the overlapped zone,which made the recrystallization degree in the left and right edge zones of the over-lapped zone the highest,followed by the overlapped center zone and the non-overlapped zone.The tensile strength of the overlapped zone exceeded 90%of that of the single-pass deposition sample.It is proved that although there are uneven grooves on the surface of the over-lapping area during multi-layer and multi-pass deposition,they can be filled by the flow of materials during the deposition of the next lay-er,thus ensuring the dense microstructure and excellent mechanical properties of the overlapping area.The multi-layer multi-pass FRAM deposition overcomes the limitation of deposition width and lays the foundation for the future deposition of large-scale high-performance components.展开更多
This paper introduces damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(DAFVAs),compound damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(CDAFVAs),nested damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(NDAFVAs),and levered ...This paper introduces damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(DAFVAs),compound damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(CDAFVAs),nested damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(NDAFVAs),and levered damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(LDAFVAs)for controlling the structural vibrations and addressing the limitations of conventional tuned mass dampers(TMDs)and frictiontuned mass dampers(FTMDs).The closed-form analytical solution for the optimized design parameters is obtained using the H_(2)and H_(∞)optimization approaches.The efficiency of the recently established closed-form equations for the optimal design parameters is confirmed by the analytical examination.The closed form formulas for the dynamic responses of the main structure and the vibration absorbers are derived using the transfer matrix formulations.The foundation is provided by the harmonic and random-white noise excitations.Moreover,the effectiveness of the innovative dampers has been validated through numerical analysis.The optimal DAFVAs,CDAFVAs,NDAFVAs,and LDAFVAs exhibit at least 30%lower vibration reduction capacity compared with the optimal TMD.To demonstrate the effectiveness of the damping amplification mechanism,the novel absorbers are compared with a conventional FTMD.The results show that the optimized novel absorbers achieve at least 91%greater vibration reduction than the FTMD.These results show how the suggested designs might strengthen the structure's resilience to dynamic loads.展开更多
The stress wave profile at the frictional interface is crucial for investigating the frictional process.This study modeled a brittle material interface with a micro-contact to analyze the fine stress wave structure as...The stress wave profile at the frictional interface is crucial for investigating the frictional process.This study modeled a brittle material interface with a micro-contact to analyze the fine stress wave structure associated with frictional slip.Employing the finite element simulation alongside the related wave theory and experiments,two new wave structures were indentified:A Mach cone symmetric to the frictional interface associated with incident plane wave propagation,and a new plane longitudinal wave generated across the entire frictional interface at the moment when the incident wave began to propagate.The time and space of its appearance implies that the overall response of the frictional interface precedes the local wave response of the medium.Consequently,a model involving characteristic line theory and the idea of Green’s function has been proposed for its occurrence.The analysis results show that these two new wave phenomena are independent of the fracture of micro-contacts at the interface;instead,the frictional interface effect may be responsible for the generation of such new wave structures.The measured wave profiles provide a proof for the existence of the new wave structures.These results display new wave phenomena,and suggest a wave profile for investigating the dynamic mechanical properties of the frictional interface.展开更多
The present study investigates the influence of friction time on the microstructural and mechanical properties of friction-welded joints for Ni-Cr-Mo steel(AISI 316)using the continuous drive friction welding(CDFW)pro...The present study investigates the influence of friction time on the microstructural and mechanical properties of friction-welded joints for Ni-Cr-Mo steel(AISI 316)using the continuous drive friction welding(CDFW)process.The research encompasses macro-and microstructural analysis,microhardness measurements along the axial direction and at the interface,tensile testing with effect-ive diameters of 4 mm and 6 mm,and compression testing at angles of 0°,45°,and 90°using specimens with dimensions of 4 mm in diameter and 6.5 mm in length.Additionally,impact tests were performed in symmetric and non-symmetric positions.The findings reveal that increasing friction time leads to the formation of a pronounced flash on the stationary side compared to the rotating side.Microstructural analysis shows fine grains in the highly plastically deformed zone(HPDZ)at the interface and elongated grains in the thermo-mechanically affected zone(TMAZ).At longer friction times(10 s),microhardness values reached approximately 300 HV0.1 at the welding interface,decreasing to 240-230 HV0.1 in adjacent regions.At shorter friction times(6.5 s),microhardness values were moderately lower,ranging from 260 HV0.1 to 240 HV0.1 at the interface and neighboring areas.For 6 mm diameter specimens,ulti-mate tensile strength(UTS)decreased with increasing friction time,reaching its lowest value at 8.5 s,while 4 mm diameter speci-mens exhibited a linear reduction in UTS with longer friction times.Compression tests demonstrated the highest yield strength at 0°,with values decreasing as friction time increased,indicating anisotropy in AISI 316 under friction time influence.Impact strength de-clined in non-symmetric positions compared to symmetric ones as friction time increased.展开更多
Various soft materials,e.g.,papers,cloths,and sponges,can absorb water.In this study,we demonstrated the influence of the surface free energy of liquid and the liquid distribution on the friction behavior of a paper w...Various soft materials,e.g.,papers,cloths,and sponges,can absorb water.In this study,we demonstrated the influence of the surface free energy of liquid and the liquid distribution on the friction behavior of a paper wiper on a glass plate.The friction test was performed by varying the liquid content in the paper wiper.Compared with the dry condition,the friction coefficient increased 5.14 times when a certain part of the interface was occupied with water.We found that this high friction effect decreased with the surface free energy of the liquid,and the contact between the liquid droplets in the paper wiper and the glass plate was required to realize a high friction effect.This high friction effect is observed for paper wipers and other soft materials that can absorb liquids,e.g.,cloths and sponges,and the findings of this study are expected to help design the friction properties of soft materials containing small amounts of liquid.展开更多
In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional economies.However,understanding the resilience...In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional economies.However,understanding the resilience of digital trade in the face of external crises is an important topic.Taking the backdrop of Sino-US trade friction,this paper constructs a resilience index system for digital trade.It utilizes entropy method,kernel density estimation,and ArcGIS mapping to calculate and visually analyze the resilience of China’s digital trade from 2017 to 2021.Additionally,a Tobit model is constructed to explore the main influencing factors of digital trade resilience patterns.The research findings indicate:1)temporally,during the period of Sino-US trade friction,China’s digital trade resilience shows an overall upward trend,but there are regional differences in resilience levels across the country,with a severe polarization phenomenon.2)Spatially,high resilience is observed in the eastern and central regions of China,while the western and northeastern regions exhibit low resilience.3)From a dimensional perspective,the resistance of digital trade resilience displays a spatial distribution of high values in the east and low values in the west.The recovery force is aggregated along coastal areas,and the renewal force tends to aggregate along the eastern coastline.4)Factors such as economic scale,industrial structure,urbanization rate,government fiscal expenditure,and technological talents significantly promote the enhancement of digital trade resilience.This study reveals the dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of digital trade resilience in responding to external shocks,providing theoretical basis and policy suggestions for enhancing digital trade resilience,and promoting high-quality economic development in China.展开更多
Welding high-entropy alloy(HEA)to Mg alloy has gained increasing attention for multi-metal structure design,while intrinsic sluggish diffusion kinetics of HEA confines diffusion-controlled interfacial reactions and mak...Welding high-entropy alloy(HEA)to Mg alloy has gained increasing attention for multi-metal structure design,while intrinsic sluggish diffusion kinetics of HEA confines diffusion-controlled interfacial reactions and makes it challenging to establish robust metallurgical bonding.This study investigated welding of FeCoCrNiMn HEA to commercial AZ31 as a model combination to pioneer thisfield.Interfacial phase separation phenomenon was observed,with the diffusion accelerated by in-situ engineering a submicron-scale thick(∼400–500 nm)HEA nearby the interface into nanocrystalline-structure during friction stir welding.Abundant grain boundaries generated in this nanocrystalline-interlayer serve as diffusion short-circuits and energetically preferred nucleation-sites,which promoted Al in AZ31 to diffuse into HEA and triggered quick separation into body-centered cubic AlNi-type and tetragonal FeCr-type intermetallics.HEA and AZ31 were thus metallurgically bonded by these interfacial intermetallics.The joint shows exceptional strength in tensile lap-shear testing with fracture largely occurred within AZ31 rather than right along interface as commonly reported previously for dissimilar joints.展开更多

In this work, we inve...Negative friction refers to a frictional force that acts in the same direction as the motion of an object, which has been predicted in terahertz(THz) gain systems [Phys. Rev. B 108 045406(2023)]. In this work, we investigate the enhancement of the negative friction experienced by nanospheres placed near a graphene substrate. We find that the magnitude of negative friction is related to the resonant coupling between the surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) of the graphene and localized surface phonon polaritons(LSPh P) of nanospheres. We exam nanospheres consisted of several different materials, including SiO_(2), Si C, Zn Se, Na Cl, ln Sb. Our results suggest that the LSPh P of Na Cl nanospheres match effectively with the amplified SPPs of graphene sheets. The negative friction for Na Cl nanospheres can be enhanced about one-to-two orders of magnitude compared to that of silica(SiO_(2)) nanospheres. At the resonant peak of negative friction, the required quasi-Fermi energy of graphene is lower for Na Cl nanospheres. Our finds hold great prospects for the mechanical manipulations of nanoscale particles.展开更多
The experimental analysis takes too much time-consuming process and requires considerable effort,while,the Artificial Neural Network(ANN)algorithms are simple,affordable,and fast,and they allow us to make a relevant a...The experimental analysis takes too much time-consuming process and requires considerable effort,while,the Artificial Neural Network(ANN)algorithms are simple,affordable,and fast,and they allow us to make a relevant analysis in establishing an appropriate relationship between the input and output parameters.This paper deals with the use of back-propagation ANN algorithms for the experimental data of heat transfer coefficient,Nusselt number,and friction factor of water-based Fe_(3)O_(4)-TiO_(2) magnetic hybrid nanofluids in a mini heat sink under magnetic fields.The data considered for the ANN network is at different Reynolds numbers(239 to 1874),different volume concentrations(0%to 2.0%),and different magnetic fields(250 to 1000 G),respectively.Three types of ANN back-propagation algorithms Levenberg-Marquardt(LM),Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno Quasi Newton(BFGS),and Variable Learning Rate Gradient Descent(VLGD)were used to train the heat transfer coefficient,Nusselt number,and friction factor data,respectively.The ANOVA t-test analysis was also performed to determine the relative accuracy of the three ANN algorithms.The Nusselt number of 2.0%vol.of Fe_(3)O_(4)-TiO_(2) hybrid nanofluid is enhanced by 38.16%without a magnetic field,and it is further enhanced by 88.93%with the magnetic field of 1000 Gauss at a Reynolds number of 1874,with respect to the base fluid.A total of 126 datasets of heat transfer coefficient,Nusselt number,and friction factor were used as input and output data.The three ANN algorithms of LM,BFGS,and VLGD,have shown good acceptance with the experimental data with root-mean-square errors of 0.34883,0.25341,and 1.0202 with correlation coefficients(R2)of 0.99954,0.9967,and 0.94501,respectively,for the Nusselt number data.Moreover,the three ANN algorithms predict root-mean-square errors of 0.001488,0.005041,and 0.006924 with correlation coefficients(R2)of 0.99982,0.99976,and 0.99486,respectively,for the friction factor data.Compared to BFGS and VLGD algorithms,the LM algorithm predicts high accuracy for Nusselt number,and friction factor data.The proposed Nusselt number and friction factor correlations are also discussed.展开更多
The pre-weld heat treatment was carried out to obtain different initial microstructures of the GH4169 superalloy,and then Linear Friction Welding(LFW)was performed.The effect of the pre-weld heat treatment on the micr...The pre-weld heat treatment was carried out to obtain different initial microstructures of the GH4169 superalloy,and then Linear Friction Welding(LFW)was performed.The effect of the pre-weld heat treatment on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the joint was analyzed,and the joint electrochemical corrosion behavior as well as the hot corrosion behavior was studied.The results show that the joint hardness of Base Metal(BM)increases after pre-weld heat treatment,and the strengthening phasesγ′andγ″further precipitate.However,the precipitation phases dissolve significantly in the Weld Zone(WZ)due to the thermal process of LFW.The corrosion resistance in BM is reduced after the pre-weld heat treatment,while it is similar in WZ with a slight decrease.The surface morphology of the BM and WZ can be generally divided into a loose and porous matrix and a scattered oxide particle layer after hot corrosion.The joint cross section exhibits a Cr-depleted zone with the diffusion of Cr to form an oxide film.The corrosion product mainly consists of Fe_(2)O_(3)/Fe_(3)O_(4) as the outer layer and Cr_(2)O_(3) as the inner layer.展开更多
The composite structures/components made by friction stir lap welding(FSLW)of Mg alloy sheet and Al alloy sheet are of wide application potentials in the manufacturing sector of transportation vehicles.To further impr...The composite structures/components made by friction stir lap welding(FSLW)of Mg alloy sheet and Al alloy sheet are of wide application potentials in the manufacturing sector of transportation vehicles.To further improve the joint quality,the ultrasonic vibration(UV)is exerted in FSLW,and the UV enhanced FSLW(UVeFSLW)was developed for making Mg-to-Al dissimilar joints.The numerical analysis and experimental investigation were combined to study the process mechanism in Mg/Al UVeFSLW.An equation related to the temperature and strain rate was derived to calculate the grain size at different locations of the weld nugget zone,and the effect of grain size distribution on the threshold thermal stress was included,so that the prediction accuracy of flow stress was further improved.With such modified constitutive equation,the numerical simulation was conducted to compare the heat generation,temperature profiles and material flow behaviors in Mg/Al UVeFSLW/FSLW processes.It was found that the exerted UV decreased the temperature at two checking points on the tool/workpiece interface from 707/671 K in FSLW to 689/660 K in UVeFSLW,which suppressed the IMCs thickness at Mg-Al interface from 1.7μm in FSLW to 1.1μm in UVeFSLW.The exerted UV increased the horizontal materials flow ability,and decreased the upward flow ability,which resulted in the increase of effective sheet thickness/effective lap width from 2.01/3.70 mm in FSLW to 2.04/4.84 mm in UVeFSLW.Therefore,the ultrasonic vibration improved the tensile shear strength of Mg-to-Al lap joints by 18%.展开更多

The effects of tungsten inert gas arc-assisted friction stir welding(TIG-FSW)on the microstructure,tensile properties and corrosion resistance of AA6016 and AA2519 alloys lap joints were investigated by means of optic...The effects of tungsten inert gas arc-assisted friction stir welding(TIG-FSW)on the microstructure,tensile properties and corrosion resistance of AA6016 and AA2519 alloys lap joints were investigated by means of optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,tensile test at room temperature,corrosion immersion tests and electrochemical measurements.The results show that the introduction of TIG arc during FSW process results in a more uniform microstructure of the joint with no tunnel hole defects.Furthermore,it enhances tensile strength and elongation of the joint with increased rates of 11.5%and 50.0%,respectively;meanwhile,the corrosion current density and largest corrosion depth are decreased with reduction rates of 78.2%and 45.7%,respectively.TIG-FSW can promote flow,contact and diffusion of materials,thus improving microstructure of the joint.Additionally,it reduces the size and number of secondary phase particles.Consequently,these factors contribute to the higher tensile properties and corrosion resistance of the joints.展开更多

Additive friction stir deposition(AFSD)is a novel structural repair and manufacturing technology has become a research hotspot at home and abroad in the past five years.In this work,the microstructural evolution and m...Additive friction stir deposition(AFSD)is a novel structural repair and manufacturing technology has become a research hotspot at home and abroad in the past five years.In this work,the microstructural evolution and mechanical performance of the Al-Mg-Si alloy plate repaired by the preheating-assisted AFSD process were investigated.To evaluate the tool rotation speed and substrate preheating for repair quality,the AFSD technique was used to additively repair 5 mm depth blind holes on 6061 aluminum alloy substrates.The results showed that preheat-assisted AFSD repair significantly improved joint bonding and joint strength compared to the control non-preheat substrate condition.Moreover,increasing rotation speed was also beneficial to improve the metallurgical bonding of the interface and avoid volume defects.Under preheating conditions,the UTS and elongation were positively correlated with rotation speed.Under the process parameters of preheated substrate and tool rotation speed of 1000 r/min,defect-free specimens could be obtained accompanied by tensile fracture occurring in the substrate rather than the repaired zone.The UTS and elongation reached the maximum values of 164.2MPa and 13.4%,which are equivalent to 99.4%and 140%of the heated substrate,respectively.展开更多
Nowadays,magnesium alloys are emerging in biomedical implants for their similar properties to natural bones.However,the rapid degradation of magnesium alloys in biological media hinders successful implantation.Refinem...Nowadays,magnesium alloys are emerging in biomedical implants for their similar properties to natural bones.However,the rapid degradation of magnesium alloys in biological media hinders successful implantation.Refinement of microstructure,as well as reinforcement particles can significantly improve the degradation rate.In this work,multi-pass friction stir processing(FSP)was proposed to synthesize WE43/nano-hydroxyapatite(n HA)surface composite,the microstructure,reinforced particle distribution,micro-hardness,corrosion behavior and in-vitro bioactivity were studied.The subsequent FSP passes of WE43 alloy and WE43/n HA composite refined the grain size which was reduced by 94.29%and 95.92%(2.63 and 1.88μm,respectively)compared to base metal after three passes.This resulted in increasing the microhardness by 120%(90.86 HV0.1)and 135%(105.59 HV0.1)for the WE43 and WE43-n HA,respectively.It is found that increasing FSP passes improved the uniform distribution of n HA particles within the composite matrix which led to improved corrosion resistance and less degradation rate.The corrosion rate of the FSPed WE43/n HA composite after three passes was reduced by 38.2%(4.13 mm/year)and the degradation rate was reduced by 69.7%(2.87 mm/y).This is attributed to secondary phase(Mg24Y5and Mg41Nd5)particle fragmentation and redistribution,as well as a homogeneous distribution of n HA.Additionally,the growing Ca-P and Mg(OH)2layer formed on the surface represented a protective layer that reduced the degradation rate.The wettability test revealed a relatively hydrophilic surface with water contact angle of 49.1±2.2°compared to 71.2±2.1°for base metal.Also,biomineralization test showed that apatite layer grew after immersion 7d in simulated body fluid with atomic ratio of Ca/P 1.60 approaching the stoichiometric ratio(1.67)indicating superior bioactivity of FSPed WE43/n HA composite after three passes.These results raise that the grain refinement by FSP and introduction of n HA particles significantly improved the degradation rate and in-vitro bioactivity of WE43 alloy for biomedical applications.展开更多
A large-scale fine-grained Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloy plate with high strength and ductility was successfully prepared by multi-pass friction stir processing(MFSP)technology in this work.The structure of grains and long peri...A large-scale fine-grained Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloy plate with high strength and ductility was successfully prepared by multi-pass friction stir processing(MFSP)technology in this work.The structure of grains and long period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase were characterized,and the mechanical properties uniformity was investigated.Moreover,a quantitative relationship between the microstructure and tensile yield strength was established.The results showed that the grains in the processed zone(PZ)and interfacial zone(IZ)were refined from 50μm to 3μm and 4μm,respectively,and numerous original LPSO phases were broken.In IZ,some block-shaped 18R LPSO phases were transformed into needle-like 14H LPSO phases due to stacking faults and the short-range diffusion of solute atoms.The severe shear deformation in the form of kinetic energy caused profuse stacking fault to be generated and move rapidly,greatly increasing the transformation rate of LPSO phase.After MFSP,the ultimate tensile strength,yield strength and elongation to failure of the large-scale plate were 367 MPa,305 MPa and 18.0% respectively.Grain refinement and LPSO phase strengthening were the major strengthening mechanisms for the MFSP sample.In particularly,the strength of IZ was comparable to that of PZ because the strength contribution of the 14H LPSO phase offsets the lack of grain refinement strengthening in IZ.This result opposes the widely accepted notion that IZ is a weak region in MFSP-prepared large-scale fine-grained plate.展开更多

文摘In order to solve the problem of poor formability caused by different materials and properties in the process of tailor-welded sheets forming,a forming method was proposed to change the stress state of tailor-welded sheets by covering the tailor-welded sheets with better plastic properties overlapping sheets.At the same time,the interface friction effect between the overlapping and tailor-welded sheets was utilized to control the stress magnitude and further improve the formability and quality of the tailor-welded sheets.In this work,the bulging process of the tailor-welded overlapping sheets was taken as the research object.Aluminum alloy tailor-welded overlapping sheets bulging specimens were studied by a combination of finite element analysis and experimental verification.The results show that the appropriate use of interface friction between tailor-welded and overlapping sheets can improve the formability of tailor-welded sheets and control the flow of weld seam to improve the forming quality.When increasing the interface friction coefficient on the side of tailor-welded sheets with higher strength and decreasing that on the side of tailor-welded sheets with lower strength,the deformation of the tailor-welded sheets are more uniform,the offset of the weld seam is minimal,the limit bulging height is maximal,and the forming quality is optimal.

文摘At present,the emerging solid-phase friction-based additive manufacturing technology,including friction rolling additive man-ufacturing(FRAM),can only manufacture simple single-pass components.In this study,multi-layer multi-pass FRAM-deposited alumin-um alloy samples were successfully prepared using a non-shoulder tool head.The material flow behavior and microstructure of the over-lapped zone between adjacent layers and passes during multi-layer multi-pass FRAM deposition were studied using the hybrid 6061 and 5052 aluminum alloys.The results showed that a mechanical interlocking structure was formed between the adjacent layers and the adja-cent passes in the overlapped center area.Repeated friction and rolling of the tool head led to different degrees of lateral flow and plastic deformation of the materials in the overlapped zone,which made the recrystallization degree in the left and right edge zones of the over-lapped zone the highest,followed by the overlapped center zone and the non-overlapped zone.The tensile strength of the overlapped zone exceeded 90%of that of the single-pass deposition sample.It is proved that although there are uneven grooves on the surface of the over-lapping area during multi-layer and multi-pass deposition,they can be filled by the flow of materials during the deposition of the next lay-er,thus ensuring the dense microstructure and excellent mechanical properties of the overlapping area.The multi-layer multi-pass FRAM deposition overcomes the limitation of deposition width and lays the foundation for the future deposition of large-scale high-performance components.

文摘This paper introduces damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(DAFVAs),compound damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(CDAFVAs),nested damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(NDAFVAs),and levered damping amplifier friction vibration absorbers(LDAFVAs)for controlling the structural vibrations and addressing the limitations of conventional tuned mass dampers(TMDs)and frictiontuned mass dampers(FTMDs).The closed-form analytical solution for the optimized design parameters is obtained using the H_(2)and H_(∞)optimization approaches.The efficiency of the recently established closed-form equations for the optimal design parameters is confirmed by the analytical examination.The closed form formulas for the dynamic responses of the main structure and the vibration absorbers are derived using the transfer matrix formulations.The foundation is provided by the harmonic and random-white noise excitations.Moreover,the effectiveness of the innovative dampers has been validated through numerical analysis.The optimal DAFVAs,CDAFVAs,NDAFVAs,and LDAFVAs exhibit at least 30%lower vibration reduction capacity compared with the optimal TMD.To demonstrate the effectiveness of the damping amplification mechanism,the novel absorbers are compared with a conventional FTMD.The results show that the optimized novel absorbers achieve at least 91%greater vibration reduction than the FTMD.These results show how the suggested designs might strengthen the structure's resilience to dynamic loads.

文摘The stress wave profile at the frictional interface is crucial for investigating the frictional process.This study modeled a brittle material interface with a micro-contact to analyze the fine stress wave structure associated with frictional slip.Employing the finite element simulation alongside the related wave theory and experiments,two new wave structures were indentified:A Mach cone symmetric to the frictional interface associated with incident plane wave propagation,and a new plane longitudinal wave generated across the entire frictional interface at the moment when the incident wave began to propagate.The time and space of its appearance implies that the overall response of the frictional interface precedes the local wave response of the medium.Consequently,a model involving characteristic line theory and the idea of Green’s function has been proposed for its occurrence.The analysis results show that these two new wave phenomena are independent of the fracture of micro-contacts at the interface;instead,the frictional interface effect may be responsible for the generation of such new wave structures.The measured wave profiles provide a proof for the existence of the new wave structures.These results display new wave phenomena,and suggest a wave profile for investigating the dynamic mechanical properties of the frictional interface.
文摘The present study investigates the influence of friction time on the microstructural and mechanical properties of friction-welded joints for Ni-Cr-Mo steel(AISI 316)using the continuous drive friction welding(CDFW)process.The research encompasses macro-and microstructural analysis,microhardness measurements along the axial direction and at the interface,tensile testing with effect-ive diameters of 4 mm and 6 mm,and compression testing at angles of 0°,45°,and 90°using specimens with dimensions of 4 mm in diameter and 6.5 mm in length.Additionally,impact tests were performed in symmetric and non-symmetric positions.The findings reveal that increasing friction time leads to the formation of a pronounced flash on the stationary side compared to the rotating side.Microstructural analysis shows fine grains in the highly plastically deformed zone(HPDZ)at the interface and elongated grains in the thermo-mechanically affected zone(TMAZ).At longer friction times(10 s),microhardness values reached approximately 300 HV0.1 at the welding interface,decreasing to 240-230 HV0.1 in adjacent regions.At shorter friction times(6.5 s),microhardness values were moderately lower,ranging from 260 HV0.1 to 240 HV0.1 at the interface and neighboring areas.For 6 mm diameter specimens,ulti-mate tensile strength(UTS)decreased with increasing friction time,reaching its lowest value at 8.5 s,while 4 mm diameter speci-mens exhibited a linear reduction in UTS with longer friction times.Compression tests demonstrated the highest yield strength at 0°,with values decreasing as friction time increased,indicating anisotropy in AISI 316 under friction time influence.Impact strength de-clined in non-symmetric positions compared to symmetric ones as friction time increased.

文摘Various soft materials,e.g.,papers,cloths,and sponges,can absorb water.In this study,we demonstrated the influence of the surface free energy of liquid and the liquid distribution on the friction behavior of a paper wiper on a glass plate.The friction test was performed by varying the liquid content in the paper wiper.Compared with the dry condition,the friction coefficient increased 5.14 times when a certain part of the interface was occupied with water.We found that this high friction effect decreased with the surface free energy of the liquid,and the contact between the liquid droplets in the paper wiper and the glass plate was required to realize a high friction effect.This high friction effect is observed for paper wipers and other soft materials that can absorb liquids,e.g.,cloths and sponges,and the findings of this study are expected to help design the friction properties of soft materials containing small amounts of liquid.

文摘In the era of the digital economy,digital trade has demonstrated strong vitality,becoming a crucial driving force for the highquality development of national and regional economies.However,understanding the resilience of digital trade in the face of external crises is an important topic.Taking the backdrop of Sino-US trade friction,this paper constructs a resilience index system for digital trade.It utilizes entropy method,kernel density estimation,and ArcGIS mapping to calculate and visually analyze the resilience of China’s digital trade from 2017 to 2021.Additionally,a Tobit model is constructed to explore the main influencing factors of digital trade resilience patterns.The research findings indicate:1)temporally,during the period of Sino-US trade friction,China’s digital trade resilience shows an overall upward trend,but there are regional differences in resilience levels across the country,with a severe polarization phenomenon.2)Spatially,high resilience is observed in the eastern and central regions of China,while the western and northeastern regions exhibit low resilience.3)From a dimensional perspective,the resistance of digital trade resilience displays a spatial distribution of high values in the east and low values in the west.The recovery force is aggregated along coastal areas,and the renewal force tends to aggregate along the eastern coastline.4)Factors such as economic scale,industrial structure,urbanization rate,government fiscal expenditure,and technological talents significantly promote the enhancement of digital trade resilience.This study reveals the dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of digital trade resilience in responding to external shocks,providing theoretical basis and policy suggestions for enhancing digital trade resilience,and promoting high-quality economic development in China.

文摘Welding high-entropy alloy(HEA)to Mg alloy has gained increasing attention for multi-metal structure design,while intrinsic sluggish diffusion kinetics of HEA confines diffusion-controlled interfacial reactions and makes it challenging to establish robust metallurgical bonding.This study investigated welding of FeCoCrNiMn HEA to commercial AZ31 as a model combination to pioneer thisfield.Interfacial phase separation phenomenon was observed,with the diffusion accelerated by in-situ engineering a submicron-scale thick(∼400–500 nm)HEA nearby the interface into nanocrystalline-structure during friction stir welding.Abundant grain boundaries generated in this nanocrystalline-interlayer serve as diffusion short-circuits and energetically preferred nucleation-sites,which promoted Al in AZ31 to diffuse into HEA and triggered quick separation into body-centered cubic AlNi-type and tetragonal FeCr-type intermetallics.HEA and AZ31 were thus metallurgically bonded by these interfacial intermetallics.The joint shows exceptional strength in tensile lap-shear testing with fracture largely occurred within AZ31 rather than right along interface as commonly reported previously for dissimilar joints.

文摘Negative friction refers to a frictional force that acts in the same direction as the motion of an object, which has been predicted in terahertz(THz) gain systems [Phys. Rev. B 108 045406(2023)]. In this work, we investigate the enhancement of the negative friction experienced by nanospheres placed near a graphene substrate. We find that the magnitude of negative friction is related to the resonant coupling between the surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) of the graphene and localized surface phonon polaritons(LSPh P) of nanospheres. We exam nanospheres consisted of several different materials, including SiO_(2), Si C, Zn Se, Na Cl, ln Sb. Our results suggest that the LSPh P of Na Cl nanospheres match effectively with the amplified SPPs of graphene sheets. The negative friction for Na Cl nanospheres can be enhanced about one-to-two orders of magnitude compared to that of silica(SiO_(2)) nanospheres. At the resonant peak of negative friction, the required quasi-Fermi energy of graphene is lower for Na Cl nanospheres. Our finds hold great prospects for the mechanical manipulations of nanoscale particles.

文摘The experimental analysis takes too much time-consuming process and requires considerable effort,while,the Artificial Neural Network(ANN)algorithms are simple,affordable,and fast,and they allow us to make a relevant analysis in establishing an appropriate relationship between the input and output parameters.This paper deals with the use of back-propagation ANN algorithms for the experimental data of heat transfer coefficient,Nusselt number,and friction factor of water-based Fe_(3)O_(4)-TiO_(2) magnetic hybrid nanofluids in a mini heat sink under magnetic fields.The data considered for the ANN network is at different Reynolds numbers(239 to 1874),different volume concentrations(0%to 2.0%),and different magnetic fields(250 to 1000 G),respectively.Three types of ANN back-propagation algorithms Levenberg-Marquardt(LM),Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno Quasi Newton(BFGS),and Variable Learning Rate Gradient Descent(VLGD)were used to train the heat transfer coefficient,Nusselt number,and friction factor data,respectively.The ANOVA t-test analysis was also performed to determine the relative accuracy of the three ANN algorithms.The Nusselt number of 2.0%vol.of Fe_(3)O_(4)-TiO_(2) hybrid nanofluid is enhanced by 38.16%without a magnetic field,and it is further enhanced by 88.93%with the magnetic field of 1000 Gauss at a Reynolds number of 1874,with respect to the base fluid.A total of 126 datasets of heat transfer coefficient,Nusselt number,and friction factor were used as input and output data.The three ANN algorithms of LM,BFGS,and VLGD,have shown good acceptance with the experimental data with root-mean-square errors of 0.34883,0.25341,and 1.0202 with correlation coefficients(R2)of 0.99954,0.9967,and 0.94501,respectively,for the Nusselt number data.Moreover,the three ANN algorithms predict root-mean-square errors of 0.001488,0.005041,and 0.006924 with correlation coefficients(R2)of 0.99982,0.99976,and 0.99486,respectively,for the friction factor data.Compared to BFGS and VLGD algorithms,the LM algorithm predicts high accuracy for Nusselt number,and friction factor data.The proposed Nusselt number and friction factor correlations are also discussed.

文摘The pre-weld heat treatment was carried out to obtain different initial microstructures of the GH4169 superalloy,and then Linear Friction Welding(LFW)was performed.The effect of the pre-weld heat treatment on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the joint was analyzed,and the joint electrochemical corrosion behavior as well as the hot corrosion behavior was studied.The results show that the joint hardness of Base Metal(BM)increases after pre-weld heat treatment,and the strengthening phasesγ′andγ″further precipitate.However,the precipitation phases dissolve significantly in the Weld Zone(WZ)due to the thermal process of LFW.The corrosion resistance in BM is reduced after the pre-weld heat treatment,while it is similar in WZ with a slight decrease.The surface morphology of the BM and WZ can be generally divided into a loose and porous matrix and a scattered oxide particle layer after hot corrosion.The joint cross section exhibits a Cr-depleted zone with the diffusion of Cr to form an oxide film.The corrosion product mainly consists of Fe_(2)O_(3)/Fe_(3)O_(4) as the outer layer and Cr_(2)O_(3) as the inner layer.

文摘The composite structures/components made by friction stir lap welding(FSLW)of Mg alloy sheet and Al alloy sheet are of wide application potentials in the manufacturing sector of transportation vehicles.To further improve the joint quality,the ultrasonic vibration(UV)is exerted in FSLW,and the UV enhanced FSLW(UVeFSLW)was developed for making Mg-to-Al dissimilar joints.The numerical analysis and experimental investigation were combined to study the process mechanism in Mg/Al UVeFSLW.An equation related to the temperature and strain rate was derived to calculate the grain size at different locations of the weld nugget zone,and the effect of grain size distribution on the threshold thermal stress was included,so that the prediction accuracy of flow stress was further improved.With such modified constitutive equation,the numerical simulation was conducted to compare the heat generation,temperature profiles and material flow behaviors in Mg/Al UVeFSLW/FSLW processes.It was found that the exerted UV decreased the temperature at two checking points on the tool/workpiece interface from 707/671 K in FSLW to 689/660 K in UVeFSLW,which suppressed the IMCs thickness at Mg-Al interface from 1.7μm in FSLW to 1.1μm in UVeFSLW.The exerted UV increased the horizontal materials flow ability,and decreased the upward flow ability,which resulted in the increase of effective sheet thickness/effective lap width from 2.01/3.70 mm in FSLW to 2.04/4.84 mm in UVeFSLW.Therefore,the ultrasonic vibration improved the tensile shear strength of Mg-to-Al lap joints by 18%.

文摘The influence of geometric configuration on the friction characteristics during incremental sheet forming of AA5052 was analyzed by integrating surface morphology and its characteristic parameters,along with plastic strain,contact pressure,and area.The interface promotes lubrication and support when wall angles were≤40°,a 0.5 mm-thin sheet was used,and a 10 mm-large tool radius was employed.This mainly results in micro-plowing and plastic extrusion flow,leading to lower friction coefficient.However,when wall angles exceed 40°,significant plastic strain roughening occurs,leading to inadequate lubrication on the newly formed surface.Increased sheet thickness and decreased tool radius elevate contact pressure.These actions trigger micro-cutting and adhesion,potentially leading to localized scuffing and dimple tears,and higher friction coefficient.The friction mechanisms remain unaffected by the part’s plane curve features.As the forming process progresses,abrasive wear intensifies,and surface morphology evolves unfavorably for lubrication and friction reduction.
文摘The effects of tungsten inert gas arc-assisted friction stir welding(TIG-FSW)on the microstructure,tensile properties and corrosion resistance of AA6016 and AA2519 alloys lap joints were investigated by means of optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,tensile test at room temperature,corrosion immersion tests and electrochemical measurements.The results show that the introduction of TIG arc during FSW process results in a more uniform microstructure of the joint with no tunnel hole defects.Furthermore,it enhances tensile strength and elongation of the joint with increased rates of 11.5%and 50.0%,respectively;meanwhile,the corrosion current density and largest corrosion depth are decreased with reduction rates of 78.2%and 45.7%,respectively.TIG-FSW can promote flow,contact and diffusion of materials,thus improving microstructure of the joint.Additionally,it reduces the size and number of secondary phase particles.Consequently,these factors contribute to the higher tensile properties and corrosion resistance of the joints.

文摘1.Main text Owing to their low density and high specific strength,magnesium alloys and magnesium-based composites have great potential as structure metal materials in applications where lightweight matters[1–4].Deformation twins[5],especially the{1012}tension twins(also called tensile or extension twins)with a low critical resolved shear stress(CRSS)[6],are commonly observed in Mg alloys.They can provide the much-needed deformation along the c-axis in their hcp structure resulting from the very few easily activated slip systems in this crystal structure[7].The tensile twinning activation usually follows the macroscopic Schmid factor law[2],i.e.,the twin variant with the highest Schmid factor occurs,and it only appears when its Schmid factor is positive.

文摘Ni-based superalloys are one of the most important materials employed in high-temperature applications within the aerospace and nuclear energy industries and in gas turbines due to their excellent corrosion,radiation,fatigue resistance,and high-temperature strength.Linear friction welding(LFW)is a new joining technology with near-net-forming characteristics that can be used for the manu-facture and repair of a wide range of aerospace components.This paper reviews published works on LFW of Ni-based superalloys with the aim of understanding the characteristics of frictional heat generation and extrusion deformation,microstructures,mechanical proper-ties,flash morphology,residual stresses,creep,and fatigue of Ni-based superalloy weldments produced with LFW to enable future optim-um utilization of the LFW process.

文摘Additive friction stir deposition(AFSD)is a novel structural repair and manufacturing technology has become a research hotspot at home and abroad in the past five years.In this work,the microstructural evolution and mechanical performance of the Al-Mg-Si alloy plate repaired by the preheating-assisted AFSD process were investigated.To evaluate the tool rotation speed and substrate preheating for repair quality,the AFSD technique was used to additively repair 5 mm depth blind holes on 6061 aluminum alloy substrates.The results showed that preheat-assisted AFSD repair significantly improved joint bonding and joint strength compared to the control non-preheat substrate condition.Moreover,increasing rotation speed was also beneficial to improve the metallurgical bonding of the interface and avoid volume defects.Under preheating conditions,the UTS and elongation were positively correlated with rotation speed.Under the process parameters of preheated substrate and tool rotation speed of 1000 r/min,defect-free specimens could be obtained accompanied by tensile fracture occurring in the substrate rather than the repaired zone.The UTS and elongation reached the maximum values of 164.2MPa and 13.4%,which are equivalent to 99.4%and 140%of the heated substrate,respectively.

文摘Nowadays,magnesium alloys are emerging in biomedical implants for their similar properties to natural bones.However,the rapid degradation of magnesium alloys in biological media hinders successful implantation.Refinement of microstructure,as well as reinforcement particles can significantly improve the degradation rate.In this work,multi-pass friction stir processing(FSP)was proposed to synthesize WE43/nano-hydroxyapatite(n HA)surface composite,the microstructure,reinforced particle distribution,micro-hardness,corrosion behavior and in-vitro bioactivity were studied.The subsequent FSP passes of WE43 alloy and WE43/n HA composite refined the grain size which was reduced by 94.29%and 95.92%(2.63 and 1.88μm,respectively)compared to base metal after three passes.This resulted in increasing the microhardness by 120%(90.86 HV0.1)and 135%(105.59 HV0.1)for the WE43 and WE43-n HA,respectively.It is found that increasing FSP passes improved the uniform distribution of n HA particles within the composite matrix which led to improved corrosion resistance and less degradation rate.The corrosion rate of the FSPed WE43/n HA composite after three passes was reduced by 38.2%(4.13 mm/year)and the degradation rate was reduced by 69.7%(2.87 mm/y).This is attributed to secondary phase(Mg24Y5and Mg41Nd5)particle fragmentation and redistribution,as well as a homogeneous distribution of n HA.Additionally,the growing Ca-P and Mg(OH)2layer formed on the surface represented a protective layer that reduced the degradation rate.The wettability test revealed a relatively hydrophilic surface with water contact angle of 49.1±2.2°compared to 71.2±2.1°for base metal.Also,biomineralization test showed that apatite layer grew after immersion 7d in simulated body fluid with atomic ratio of Ca/P 1.60 approaching the stoichiometric ratio(1.67)indicating superior bioactivity of FSPed WE43/n HA composite after three passes.These results raise that the grain refinement by FSP and introduction of n HA particles significantly improved the degradation rate and in-vitro bioactivity of WE43 alloy for biomedical applications.

文摘A large-scale fine-grained Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloy plate with high strength and ductility was successfully prepared by multi-pass friction stir processing(MFSP)technology in this work.The structure of grains and long period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase were characterized,and the mechanical properties uniformity was investigated.Moreover,a quantitative relationship between the microstructure and tensile yield strength was established.The results showed that the grains in the processed zone(PZ)and interfacial zone(IZ)were refined from 50μm to 3μm and 4μm,respectively,and numerous original LPSO phases were broken.In IZ,some block-shaped 18R LPSO phases were transformed into needle-like 14H LPSO phases due to stacking faults and the short-range diffusion of solute atoms.The severe shear deformation in the form of kinetic energy caused profuse stacking fault to be generated and move rapidly,greatly increasing the transformation rate of LPSO phase.After MFSP,the ultimate tensile strength,yield strength and elongation to failure of the large-scale plate were 367 MPa,305 MPa and 18.0% respectively.Grain refinement and LPSO phase strengthening were the major strengthening mechanisms for the MFSP sample.In particularly,the strength of IZ was comparable to that of PZ because the strength contribution of the 14H LPSO phase offsets the lack of grain refinement strengthening in IZ.This result opposes the widely accepted notion that IZ is a weak region in MFSP-prepared large-scale fine-grained plate.
