Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study included 100 healthy male and female adults aged 20 - 64 years. Participants consumed either the G. hansenii GK-1 supplement (9 × 10⁹ cells/day) or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. The impact of temporary mental stress on fatigue in G. hansenii GK-1 was assessed using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before the study began and after 12 weeks of supplementation. Results: Subjective fatigue measured by Visual Analog Scale (VAS) showed a significant decrease in fatigue induced by temporary mental stress after 12 weeks of consumption in the G. hansenii GK-1 group compared with the placebo group. No adverse events were attributed to G. hansenii GK-1. These findings confirm that continuous oral ingestion of G. hansenii GK-1 by healthy Japanese adults reduces feelings of fatigue caused by temporary mental stress.展开更多

Un...Deep rocks encountered in underground engineering are frequently in complex in situ environments and experience both excavation disturbance during construction and cyclic loading throughout the long-term operation. Understanding the fatigue behavior of excavation-disturbed rocks in complex stress environments is critical for assessing the long-term stability of deep rock structures. Hence, an experimental method has been developed to capture the fatigue damage process of rocks while considering the in situ environment and excavation disturbance. Using this method, a series of triaxial fatigue damage experiments were conducted on Jinping deep marble samples from various in situ environments of 100 m, 1000 m, 1800 m, and 2400 m to better understand the variation in fatigue characteristics at different depths. With increasing depth, the samples experienced more cycles and greater fatigue deformation before failure. Further insights were gained into the fatigue damage behavior in terms of stiffness degradation, energy dissipation and irreversible strain accumulation. A decrease in the elastic modulus and an increase in the dissipated energy and irreversible strain exhibit an evolution pattern of initial→stabilization→acceleration, reflecting the nonlinear fatigue process that occurs inside marble. With increasing depth, marble samples have longer fatigue lives but exhibit more significant stiffness loss, energy dissipation and irrecoverable deformation accumulation;thus, evaluating the instability of deep rock structures solely using fatigue life alone is inadequate. Moreover, the previously reported inverted S-shaped evolution of fatigue damage was observed, and it was found that an increase in depth leads to an earlier onset of the accelerated fatigue damage stage with greater dominance of fatigue failure. Based on the nonlinear strain, loading cycle variable and fatigue life, a highly accurate nonlinear fatigue model was developed to describe the complete inverted S-shaped evolution pattern of fatigue damage, which demonstrated excellent practical implications for the theoretical characterization of anisotropic fatigue damage in disturbed Jinping marble.展开更多

文摘Abscisic acid(ABA)plays a key role in promoting the growth and development of plants,as well as mediating the responses of plants to adverse environmental conditions. Here,we measured the photosynthetic capacity of wild-type RR,mutant sitiens(sit),and ABA-pretreated sit tomato seedlings following exposure to low-temperature(LT)stress.We found that the net photosynthetic rate, intercellular carbon dioxide concentration, transpiration rate, and stomatal conductance of sit seedlings were lower than those of RR seedlings under LT stress. The chloroplast width, area, and number of osmiophilic granules were significantly larger in sit seedlings than in RR seedlings, while the chloroplast length/width ratio was significantly lower in sit seedlings than in RR seedlings. The photochemical activity of sit seedlings was lower, and the expression of photosynthesis-related genes in sit seedlings was altered following exposure to LT stress.ABA pretreatment significantly alleviated the above phenomenon. We also conducted an RNA sequencing analysis and characterized the expression patterns of genes in tomato seedlings following exposure to LT stress. We constructed 15 cDNA libraries and identified several differentially expressed genes involved in photosynthesis, plant hormone signaling transduction, and primary and secondary metabolism.Additional analyses of genes encoding transcription factors and proteins involved in photosynthesis-related processes showed pronounced changes in expression under LT stress.Luciferase reporter assay and electrophoretic mobility shift assay revealed that WRKY22 regulates the expression of PsbA.The PSII of WRKY22 and PsbA-silenced plants was inhibited. Our findings indicate that ABA plays a role in regulating the process of photosynthesis and protecting PSII in tomato under LT stress through the WRKY22-PsbA complex.

文摘The occurrence of tetragonal to monoclinic phase(t→m)transformation in zirconia ceramics under humid ambient conditions induces the low-temperature degradation(LTD).Such t→m transformation could be suppressed by grain size refinement or/and doping small amounts of alumina.Fine-grained dense 3mol%yttria-doped tetragonal zirconia polycrystal(3Y-TZP)ceramics were prepared by pressureless sintering a zirconia powder doped with 0.25wt%alumina.The LTD behaviors of as-prepared 3Y-TZP ceramics were evaluated by accelerated aging at 134℃in water. The samples sintered at 1300℃for 2 h achieve the relative density higher than 99.9%with the average grain size of 147 nm.The 3Y-TZP ceramic exhibits excellent LTD resistance that no t→m transformation takes place after 125 h accelerated aging.Large amounts of defects were observed inside grains evidenced by the high-resolution transmission electron microscopic(HRTEM)analysis. It is proposed that the presence of defects enhances the sintering kinetics and favors the present low-temperature densification.Possible reasons for defects formation were discussed and the mechanical properties of the 3Y-TZP ceramic were reported as well.

文摘Deep rocks encountered in underground engineering are frequently in complex in situ environments and experience both excavation disturbance during construction and cyclic loading throughout the long-term operation. Based on the nonlinear strain, loading cycle variable and fatigue life, a highly accurate nonlinear fatigue model was developed to describe the complete inverted S-shaped evolution pattern of fatigue damage, which demonstrated excellent practical implications for the theoretical characterization of anisotropic fatigue damage in disturbed Jinping marble.

文摘Energy is an important resource that supports the development of human society, and energy security is even more relevant to the strength of a country. In order to ensure energy security, countries around the world are taking measures to carry out energy transformation and construct new energy systems. As an important part of the new energy system, energy storage technology is highly valued by all countries.Among many large-scale energy storage technologies, salt cavern compressed air energy storage(CAES)technology stands out for its safety and economy, which is recognized and valued by scholars from various countries. For the construction of salt cavern CAES power station,it is very important to ensure the stability of salt cavern. Therefore, scholars have investigated the mechanical properties of salt rocks and the stability of salt caverns for CAES.This paper synthesizes the findings of current research on the creep and fatigue properties of salt rock, highlighting three key points:The factors influencing the creep and fatigue characteristics of salt rock include its composition, stress levels, and temperature.Notably, impurities and surrounding pressure tend to inhibit the deformation of salt rock, whereas elevated temperature and differential stress facilitate its deformation; The mechanisms governing creep and fatigue damage in salt rock are primarily associated with dislocation movement and microcracking; Most existing constitutive models for creep and fatigue are based on viscoelastic-plasticity theory, with fewer models derived from micro-mechanical perspectives.Additionally, this paper reviews studies on the stability of salt cavern CAES reservoirs utilizing numerical simulation methods and offers insights into future research directions concerning the creep and fatigue properties of salt rocks.

文摘Salt cavern energy storage technology contributes to energy reserves and renewable energy scale-up.This study focuses on salt cavern gas storage in Jintan to assess the long-term stability of its surrounding rock under frequent operation. The fatigue test results indicate that stress holding significantly reduces fatigue life, with the magnitude of stress level outweighing the duration of holding time in determining peak strain.Employing a machine learning approach, the impact of various factors on fatigue life and peak strain was quantified, revealing that higher stress limits and stress holding adversely impact the fatigue index, whereas lower stress limits and rate exhibit a positive effect.A novel fatigue-creep composite damage constitutive model is constructed, which is able to consider stress magnitude, rate, and stress holding. The model, validated through multi-path tests, accurately captures the elasto-viscous behavior of salt rock during loading, unloading, and stress holding.Sensitivity analysis further reveals the time-and stress-dependent behavior of model parameters, clarifying that strain changes stem not only from stress variations but are also influenced by alterations in elasto-viscous parameters. This study provides a new method for the mechanical assessment of salt cavern gas storage surrounding rocks.

文摘Health information spreads rapidly, which can effectively control epidemics. However, the swift dissemination of information also has potential negative impacts, which increasingly attracts attention.Message fatigue refers to the psychological response characterized by feelings of boredom and anxiety that occur after receiving an excessive amount of similar information. This phenomenon can alter individual behaviors related to epidemic prevention.Additionally, recent studies indicate that pairwise interactions alone are insufficient to describe complex social transmission processes, and higher-order structures representing group interactions are crucial. To address this,we develop a novel epidemic model that investigates the interactions between information, behavioral responses, and epidemics. Our model incorporates the impact of message fatigue on the entire transmission system. The information layer is modeled using a static simplicial network to capture group interactions, while the disease layer uses a time-varying network based on activity-driven model with attractiveness to represent the self-protection behaviors of susceptible individuals and self-isolation behaviors of infected individuals. We theoretically describe the co-evolution equations using the microscopic Markov chain approach(MMCA)and get the epidemic threshold.Experimental results show that while the negative impact of message fatigue on epidemic transmission is limited,it significantly weakens the group interactions depicted by higher-order structures.Individual behavioral responses strongly inhibit the epidemic. Our simulations using the Monte Carlo(MC)method demonstrate that greater intensity in these responses leads to clustering of susceptible individuals in the disease layer. Finally,we apply the proposed model to real networks to verify its reliability. In summary, our research results enhance the understanding of the information-epidemic coupling dynamics, and we expect to provide valuable guidance for managing future emerging epidemics.

文摘Objective:To evaluate the anti-fatigue effects of different extracts from Cistanche tubulosa(Schenk)Wight(C.tubulosa,Rou Cong Rong),focusing on central and exercise-induced fatigue in mice. This study investigated the pharmacological effects of the total oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, and phenylethanoid glycosides(CPhGs)extracted from C.tubulosa.Methods: Models of sleep deprivation and forced swimming fatigue were established to simulate central and exercise-induced fatigue. The mice were treated with different extracts of C.tubulosa, and their effects were assessed using behavioral tests to measure exercise capacity, learning, and memory function.Biochemical analyses were performed to evaluate the changes in serum and brain neurotransmitter levels, liver and muscle glycogen storage, and various fatigue-related biomarkers. Results: This study found that treatment with C.tubulosa extract improved exercise capacity, learning, and memory in mice.Total oligosaccharides from C.tubulosa enhanced adrenocorticotropic hormone, cholinesterase, and thyroid-stimulating hormone levels, reduced cortisol levels in central fatigue models, and ameliorated biochemical markers of exercise-induced fatigue, including lowering lactic acid, blood urea nitrogen, and malondialdehyde levels.Among the tested extracts, the total oligosaccharides showed the most comprehensive anti-fatigue effects. Conclusion: The anti-fatigue effects of C.tubulosa, particularly those of its total oligosaccharides, are pronounced in both central and exercise-induced fatigue. These effects are mediated by the regulation of neurotransmitter levels, enhancement of glycogen storage, and improvement of antioxidant enzyme activity, suggesting potential therapeutic benefits in fatigue-related conditions.
文摘BACKGROUND Patients not only experience symptoms caused by cancer but also suffer from the accompanying psychological pain. Therefore, these patients do not have high quality of life.According to the World Health Organization, the incidence of leukemia in China in 2020 was 5.1/100000,the mortality rate was 3.3/100000,and the prevalence rate was 16.7/100000.Therefore,it is important to examine the influence of comorbid subthreshold depressive symptoms on leukemia patients.AIM To determine the impact of comorbid subthreshold depressive symptoms on cancer-related fatigue and complications in leukemia patients, thereby providing a basis for early diagnosis and treatment in clinical practice.METHODS A questionnaire survey was conducted among leukemia patients admitted to a tertiary hospital in Xi'an,Shaanxi Province,China, from August 2022 to December 2023.Patients with a score>16 on the Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders(CCMD-3)and a Hamilton Depression Rating Scale score of 8-17 were classified as the subthreshold depressive group(n=95),while 100 leukemia patients admitted during the same period were classified as the control group.Data were collected using Epidata 3.1 software, and comparisons were made between the two groups regarding general clinical data, the Piper Fatigue Scale(PFS),the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),the Numeric Rating Scale for pain assessment, laboratory indicators, and the occurrence of complications.RESULTS In this survey,120 leukemia patients with depression were preliminarily screened,95 patients with subthreshold depression were ultimately selected as the subthreshold depression group, and 100 leukemia patients admitted during the same period were enrolled as the normal group.Comparison of basic clinical data between the two groups revealed no significant differences in age, sex, body mass index, cognitive function,or comorbidity with other chronic diseases. However, there were statistically significant differences in the use of radiotherapy and regular exercise between the two groups(P<0.05).Comparisons of scales and laboratory indicators revealed no significant differences in albumin or PSQI scores between the two groups, but there were statistically significant differences in pain scores,PSQI scores,PFS scores, hemoglobin levels, and C-reactive protein levels(P<0.05).Spearman’s correlation analysis indicated that cancer-related fatigue was correlated with age, hemoglobin levels,C-reactive protein levels, pain, and regular exercise among leukemia patients with subthreshold depression.Multivariate regression analysis revealed that advanced age, combined radiotherapy, pain, and low hemoglobin levels were risk factors for cancer-related fatigue in leukemia patients with comorbid subthreshold depression, while regular exercise was a protective factor against cancer-related fatigue.Follow-up comparisons revealed a significantly lower overall incidence of complications in the control group(4%)than in the depressive group(24.21%;P<0.001).CONCLUSION Leukemia patients with comorbid subthreshold depressive symptoms experience more severe cancer-related fatigue and a higher incidence of complications. These findings may be related to advanced age, combined radiotherapy, pain, and low hemoglobin levels, while regular exercise may effectively alleviate symptoms.

文摘It is challenging for aqueous Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs)to achieve comparable low-temperature(low-T)performance due to the easy-frozen electrolyte and severe Zn dendrites.Herein,an aqueous electrolyte with a low freezing point and high ionic conductivity is proposed.Combined with molecular dynamics simulation and multi-scale interface analysis(time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry threedimensional mapping and in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method),the temperature independence of the V_(2)O_(5)cathode and Zn anode is observed to be opposite.Surprisingly, dominated by the solvent structure of the designed electrolyte at low temperatures, vanadium dissolution/shuttle is significantly inhibited, and the zinc dendrites caused by this electrochemical crosstalk are greatly relieved, thus showing an abnormal temperature inversion effect.Through the disclosure and improvement of the above phenomena, the designed Zn||V_(2)O_(5)full cell delivers superior low-T performance, maintaining almost 99%capacity retention after 9500 cycles(working more than 2500 h)at-20°C.This work proposes a kind of electrolyte suitable for low-T ZIBs and reveals the inverse temperature dependence of the Zn anode, which might offer a novel perspective for the investigation of low-T aqueous battery systems.

文摘The Steel Catenary Riser(SCR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating platform. The harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the SCR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue failure. The structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints, which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue evaluation. Here,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of SCR under multiaxial stress, which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of SCR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural stress.Besides,a full-scale FE model of SCR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate, and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the SCR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into account. The research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results, meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the SCR.

文摘Developing efficient and stable cathodes for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs) is of great importance for the practical commercialization.Herein,we propose a series of Sm-modified Bi_(0.7-x)Sm_xSr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ) perovskites as highly-active catalysts for LT-SOFCs.Sm doping can significantly enhance the electrocata lytic activity and chemical stability of cathode. At 600℃,Bi_(0.675)Sm_(0.025)Sr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ)(BSSF25) cathode has been found to be the optimum composition with a polarization resistance of 0.098 Ω cm^2,which is only around 22.8% of Bi_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ)(BSF).A full cell utilizing BSSF25 displays an exceptional output density of 790 mW cm^(-2),which can operate continuously over100 h without obvious degradation. The remarkable electrochemical performance observed can be attributed to the improved O_(2) transport kinetics, superior surface oxygen adsorption capacity,as well as O_(2)p band centers in close proximity to the Fermi level. Moreover, larger average bonding energy(ABE) and the presence of highly acidic Bi,Sm,and Fe ions restrict the adsorption of CO_(2) on the cathode surface, resulting in excellent CO_(2) resistivity. This work provides valuable guidance for systematic design of efficient and durable catalysts for LT-SOFCs.
