TCM physicians reported and recorded RM in the canonical TCMliterature, which dates back more than 1500 years. The first cases of RM as a fertility abnormality were reported inChanjing, which was written during the Nanbei Dynasty of China (420 A.D. – 589 A.D.). Some prescriptions for thetreatment of RM are still actively used by modern TCM practitioners. In addition, many recent pharmacological andclinical studies have focused on the TCM therapy for RM. To identify the new therapeutic targets for RM and furtherpromote the interest in treating RM with TCM, we reviewed the etiology, pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of RMdiscussed both in the TCM literature and in contemporary pharmacological and clinical studies.展开更多

As a result, Chinese herbal medicines are being increasingly used, coining the use of the term "green medicine." Research shows that Chinese herbal medicines have many beneficial effects on fish, including growth promotion, enhancement of disease resistance, and improvement in meat quality. Many effective ingredients have been discovered in Chinese herbal medicines, which function to promote feed intake, improve meat flavor, and increase digestive enzyme activity. They also regulate and participate in processes that improve the specific and non-specific immunity of fish; however, the composition of Chinese herbal medicines is very complex and it is often difficult to identify the effective ingredients. This article reviews the latest research and application progress in Chinese herbal medicines regarding growth and feed utilization, immunity and disease resistance, and the meat quality of cultured fish. It also discusses research on the chemical constituents of classical Chinese medicinal herbs and problems with the application of Chinese herbal medicines in fish culture. This article concludes by proposing that future studies on Chinese herbal medicines should focus on how to cheaply refine and extract the effective ingredients in classical Chinese medicinal herbs, as well as how to use them efficiently in aquaculture.展开更多

To identify the new therapeutic targets for RM and furtherpromote the interest in treating RM with TCM, we reviewed the etiology, pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of RMdiscussed both in the TCM literature and in contemporary pharmacological and clinical studies.
文摘At present, unified and effective treatment for diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is still lacking, however Chinese medicine techniques characterized by syndrome differentiation and treatment, for example traditional Chinese medicine preparations, acupuncture, and fumigation, have been considered the promising alternative for DPN. Traditional Chinese medicine nursing, which is development on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, uses not only acupuncture, acupoint application and other treatments but also cares for the patient's diet and emotions in order to promote the recovery of skin and nerve endings in patients with DPN. Vast amounts of studies have explored the efficacies of various TCM nursing techniques in managing DPN, however, the article, which comprehensively documented these TCM nursing techniques in DNP patients, cannot be cap- tured. In the present article, we summarized the latest findings of TCM research on DPN in recent years in order to provide a reference for DPN.

文摘Objective:To systematically analyze the basic information, research contents and related problems in the design of literature in the research field of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) for irritable bowel syndrome,as well as to provide reliable evidence for improving clinical efficacy of IBS.Methods:Clinical observational literatures on the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome by TCM in 2009-2019 were searched in following Chinese databases:Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wan Fang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP).After selection, included studies were categorized by items as publication time, author regional distribution, treatment of TCM and control group,etc..Then we analyzed and evaluated the clinical effects of TCM treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.Results:1.Of the 986 literatures retrieved,318 met the inclusion criteria, and the number of relative literatures increased year by year.2.There were 224 literatures related to syndrome differentiation,in which 20 types of TCM syndromes were involved. The top three were the syndrome of disharmony between liver and spleen, deficiency of spleen Yang and kidney Yang and deficiency of spleen with damp retention, accounting for 53.12%、15.17% and 8.48%.3.There were 90 literatures on non-dialectical medication, among which Self-made Prescriptions(自拟方) were the most commonly used, accounting for 34.44%.4.There were 39.13% of the control group using antispasmodic.Among the antispasmodic,57.58% was Pinaverium bromide.5.Only 57 literatures were related to the recurrence rate, among which 54 showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).6.There were 142 literatures involved in the observation of adverse reactions of patients, and the adverse reactions mainly included dryness in the mouth, constipation, abdominal pain,diarrhea,nausea,etc..7.After the evaluation of the quality of the included literature,it was found that among the types of randomized controlled trials(RCTs),5 was class Ⅰ,27 were class Ⅱ,and 273 were class Ⅲ;In non-randomized controlled trials,13 were all class Ⅲ.Conclusion:The number of literatures on TCM treatment for irritable bowel syndrome was increasing year by year, showing that more and more attention had been paid to the clinical application and research of TCM by clinical workers and researchers. While In the clinical research of TCM treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, there were some deficiencies, such as non-standard TCM syndrome type, the main subjects of this study were irritable bowel syndrome-D and the international scale for evaluation of irritable bowel syndrome was not used in most of the experiments. Therefore,it is an urgent need for more high-quality clinical research in attempts to provide enough and reliable evidence to guide the medical care.
文摘Chinese medicine has been used for centuries to treat a range of health conditions. This history has produced a wealth of classical literature, case studies and clinical research data detailing its use and effectiveness.However,high-quality and conclusive evidence that meets modern requirements for clinical decision support is lacking. This evidence gap limits the integration of Chinese medicine with contemporary medicine, which in turn limits global access and acceptance of Chinese medicine as a form of safe and effective health care.Over the past 20 years, researchers and organisations around the world, including the World Health Organization(WHO)and United Nations, have worked to support the integration of traditional medicines, such as Chinese medicine, with conventional medicines to improve global health care. This paper provides an overview of Chinese medicine studies published in the top four general medical journals(BMJ,JAMA,Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine)from February 2005 to February 2024 in the past 20 years to highlight the progress in the development of this evidence base.It also highlights key actions taken to promote evidence-based clinical Chinese medicine, including product and practitioner regulation, formalising education standards, and international collaborations.Research conducted at the China-Australia International Research Centre for Chinese Medicine demonstrates the benefits of such a collaboration.Through development of its unique and inclusive‘whole-evidence’approach,plus clinical studies and systematic reviews, the Centre has significantly contributed to the evidence base for clinical Chinese medicine. In addition, its high-impact papers and groundbreaking monographs have been cited in international conventional medicine guidelines. While progress has certainly been made during the past 20 years to build a stronger evidence base for clinical Chinese medicine, there is still a considerable gap that limits its integration with conventional medicine.Future funding and research are needed to continue this work and achieve to safe, effective and accessible traditional medicine as part of the WHO’s Universal Health Coverage strategy.

文摘Objective To cater to the demands for personalized health services from a deep learning per-spective by investigating the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitu-tion data and constructing models to explore new prediction methods. Methods Data from students at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected and organized according to the 24 solar terms from January 21,2020,to April 6,2022.The data were used to identify nine TCM constitutions, including balanced constitution,Qi deficiency constitution,Yang deficiency constitution,Yin deficiency constitution, phlegm dampness constitution, damp heat constitution, stagnant blood constitution,Qi stagnation constitution, and specific-inherited predisposition constitution.Deep learning algorithms were employed to construct multi-layer perceptron(MLP),long short-term memory(LSTM),and deep belief network(DBN)models for the prediction of TCM constitutions based on the nine constitution types. To optimize these TCM constitution prediction models, this study in-troduced the attention mechanism(AM),grey wolf optimizer(GWO),and particle swarm op-timization(PSO).The models’performance was evaluated before and after optimization us-ing the F1-score,accuracy,precision,and recall. Results The research analyzed a total of 31655 pieces of data.(i)Before optimization, the MLP model achieved more than 90%prediction accuracy for all constitution types except the balanced and Qi deficiency constitutions. The LSTM model's prediction accuracies exceeded 60%,indicating that their potential in TCM constitutional prediction may not have been fully realized due to the absence of pronounced temporal features in the data.Regarding the DBN model, the binary classification analysis showed that, apart from slightly underperforming in predicting the Qi deficiency constitution and damp heat constitution, with accuracies of 65%and 60%,respectively.The DBN model demonstrated considerable discriminative power for other constitution types, achieving prediction accuracy rates and area under the receiver op-erating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)values exceeding 70%and 0.78,respectively.This indicates that while the model possesses a certain level of constitutional differentiation abili-ty,it encounters limitations in processing specific constitutional features, leaving room for further improvement in its performance. For multi-class classification problem, the DBN model’s prediction accuracy rate fell short of 50%.(ii)After optimization, the LSTM model, enhanced with the AM,typically achieved a prediction accuracy rate above 75%,with lower performance for the Qi deficiency constitution, stagnant blood constitution, and Qi stagna-tion constitution. The GWO-optimized DBN model for multi-class classification showed an increased prediction accuracy rate of 56%,while the PSO-optimized model had a decreased accuracy rate to 37%.The GWO-PSO-DBN model, optimized with both algorithms,demon-strated an improved prediction accuracy rate of 54%.Conclusion This study constructed MLP,LSTM,and DBN models for predicting TCM consti-tution and improved them based on different optimisation algorithms. The results showed that the MLP model performs well, the LSTM and DBN models were effective in prediction but with certain limitations. This study also provided a new technology reference for the es-tablishment and optimisation strategies of TCM constitution prediction models, and a novel idea for the treatment of non-disease.

文摘Due to increasing safety concerns regarding human consumption of fish products, an increasing number of medicinal chemicals are prohibited from use in aquaculture. This article concludes by proposing that future studies on Chinese herbal medicines should focus on how to cheaply refine and extract the effective ingredients in classical Chinese medicinal herbs, as well as how to use them efficiently in aquaculture.
文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is a malignant tumor originating from the gastric epithelium, and its incidence and mortality rates rank third among all malignant tumors worldwide. It is also one of the most common cancers in China and is treated predominantly by Western medicine in clinical practice. However, with the advancements in medical technology and informatics, the values of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in preventing and treating GC and improving prognosis have increasingly been recognized.According to TCM,clinical manifestations of GC can be divided into Yege(dysphagia),regurgitation, stomach pain, and Zhengxia(abdominal mass).Due to the unbalanced distribution of health care resources in China, most GC patients already have progressive or advanced-stage disease at the first diagnosis. As a result, most GC patients have poor physical function, and surgery or chemotherapy alone will aggravate the impairment to the immune function and seriously affect the quality of life.In contrast,TCM therapies have shown promising efficacy in the management of these patients. Here we review the role of the integrated TCM and Western medicine in treating advanced GC.
