The electro-hydraulic servo system was studied to cancel the amplitude attenuation and phase delay of its sinusoidal response,by developing a network using normalized least-mean-square (LMS) adaptive filtering algorithm.The command input was corrected by weights to generate the desired input for the algorithm,and the feedback was brought into the feedback correction,whose output was the weighted feedback.The weights of the normalized LMS adaptive filtering algorithm were updated on-line according to the estimation error between the desired input and the weighted feedback.Thus,the updated weights were copied to the input correction.The estimation error was forced to zero by the normalized LMS adaptive filtering algorithm such that the weighted feedback was equal to the desired input,making the feedback track the command.The above concept was used as a basis for the development of amplitude phase control.The method has good real-time performance without estimating the system model.The simulation and experiment results show that the proposed amplitude phase control can efficiently cancel the amplitude attenuation and phase delay with high precision. 展开更多

Least-mean-square routing with load-balancing for wireless ad hoc networks

Routing algorithm is a challenge for a mobile ad hoc network (MANET), but current routing protocols for MANETs consider the path with minimum number of hops as the optimal path to a given destination. This strategy does not balance the traffic load over a MANET, and may result in some disadvantages such as creating congested area, depleting power faster and enlarging time delay in the nodes with heavy duties. In this paper, we propose a routing scheme that balances the load over the network by selecting a path based on its mean load-square, the proposed routing metric can reflect not only the load of the path, but also the load distribution along the path. Simulation results show effectiveness of this routing scheme on balancing the load over all nodes in the network. 展开更多

Adaptive Update Distribution Estimation under Probability Byzantine Attack

The secure and normal operation of distributed networks is crucial for accurate parameter estimation.However,distributed networks are frequently susceptible to Byzantine attacks.Considering real-life scenarios,this paper investigates a probability Byzantine(PB)attack,utilizing a Bernoulli distribution to simulate the attack probability.Historically,additional detection mechanisms are used to mitigate such attacks,leading to increased energy consumption and burdens on distributed nodes,consequently diminishing operational efficiency.Differing from these approaches,an adaptive updating distributed estimation algorithm is proposed to mitigate the impact of PB attacks.In the proposed algorithm,a penalty strategy is initially incorporated during data updates to weaken the influence of the attack.Subsequently,an adaptive fusion weight is employed during data fusion to merge the estimations.Additionally,the reason why this penalty term weakens the attack has been analyzed,and the performance of the proposed algorithm is validated through simulation experiments. 展开更多

It makes use of the array information of 3-D points and takes vector/vertex-like features as the basis of the matching. That array information of 3-D points can be easily obtained when capturing original 3-D images. The iterative least-mean-squared (LMS) algorithm is applied to optimizing adaptively the transformation matrix parameters. These can effectively improve the registration performance and hurry up the matching process. Experimental results show that it can reach a good subjective impression on aligned 3-D images. Although the algorithm focuses primarily on the human head model, it can also be used for other objects with small modifications. 展开更多

Since the dead zone phenomenon occurs in electro-hydraulic servo system, the output of the system corresponding to a sinusoidal input contains higher harmonic besides the fundamental input, which causes harmonic distortion of the output signal. The method for harmonic cancellation based on adaptive filter is proposed. The task is accomplished by generating reference signals with frequency that should be eliminated from the output. The reference inputs are weighted by the adaptive filter in such a way that it closely matches the harmonic. The output of the adaptive filter is a harmonic replica and is injected to the fundamental signal such that the output harmonic is cancelled leaving the desired signal alone, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is greatly reduced. The weights of filter are adjusted on-line according to the control error by using least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm. Simulation results performed with a hydraulic system demonstrate the efficiency and validity of the proposed adaptive feed-forward compensator (AFC) control scheme 展开更多

Adaptive modulation can optimize the spectrum efficiency and system performance with the channel state information achieved by the long-range channel prediction. To avoid re-estimating channel correlation function as the channel stationarity varies and to track the channel adaptively, LMS (Least-Mean-Square) based long-range channel prediction is discussed in the existing literature, but it needs long observation interval to reach the convergence. Given that all OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) subcarriers have the identical time-domain correlation and stationarity during the same time interval, this paper proposed a 2-D LMS based predictor which updates the filter weights in both time and frequency domain. The proposed scheme can effectively decrease the observation intervals and significantly speed up the convergence than the conventional LMS and Parallel LMS (PLMS). Complexity analysis and simulation results prove that the proposed scheme can improve the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance and spectrum efficiency with negligible complexity increase. 展开更多
