The etching multiblock method allows natural communications between the connected subdomains and the efficient parallel computation. In this study, a new method utilizing a focused ion beam(FIB) with additional secondary etching is presented, which can obtain uniform and fine patterning of CNT forest nanostructures for metamaterials and ranging in sizes from hundreds of nanometers to several micrometers. The influence of the FIB processing parameters on the morphology of the catalyst surface and the growth of the CNT forest was investigated, including the removal of redeposited material, decreasing the average surface roughness(from 0.45 to 0.15 nm), and a decrease in the thickness of the Fe catalyst. The results showed that the combination of FIB patterning and secondary etching enabled the growth of highly aligned, highdensity CNT forest metamaterials. The improvement in the quality of single-walled CNTs(SWNTs), defined by the very high G/D peak ratio intensity of 10.47, demonstrated successful fine patterning of CNT forest for the first time. With a FIB patterning depth of 10 nm and a secondary etching of 0.5 nm, a minimum size of 150 nm of CNT forest metamaterials was achieved. The development of the FIB secondary etching method enabled for the first time, the fabrication of SWNT forest metamaterials for the optical and infrared regime, for future applications, e.g., in superlenses, antennas,or thermal metamaterials.展开更多

The state of in-situ stress is a major control parameter for multiple links including well location, fracture inspiration and reservoir assessment, so how to determine the accurate state of in-situ stress in the deep thermal reservoir becomes a core problem drawing widely attention and urgent to be solved. A row of rectangular micro-columns were machined by wire-EDM and then machined into cylindrical shape by electrochemical etching. However, the shape of the multiple electrodes and the consistent sizes of the electrodes row are not easy to be controlled. In the electrochemical process, the shape of the cathode electrode determines the current density distribution on the anode and so the forming of multiple electrodes. This paper proposes a finite element method (FEM) to accurately optimize the electrode profile. The microelectrodes row with uniformity diameters with size from hundreds micrometers to several decades could be fabricated, and mathematical model controlling the shape and diameter of multiple microelectrodes was provided. Furthermore, a good agreement between experimental and theoretical results was confirmed.展开更多

The simulated results show that the steady-state uptake of F atoms increases with increasing incident angle. With the steady-state etching established, a Si-C-F reactive layer is formed. It is found that the etching yield of Si is greater than that of C. In the F-containing reaction layer, the SiF species is dominant with incident angles less than 30°. For all incident angles, the CF species is dominant over CF2 and CF3.展开更多

A comprehensi...Refined control of etched profile in microelectronic devices during plasma etching process is one of the most important tasks of front-end and back-end microelectronic devices manufacturing technologies. A comprehensive simulation of etching profile evolution requires knowledge of the etching rates at all the points of the profile surface during the etching process. Electrons do not contribute directly to the material removal, but they are the source, together with positive ions, of the profile charging that has many negative consequences on the final outcome of the process especially in the case of insulating material etching. The ability to simulate feature charging was added to the 3D level set profile evolution simulator described earlier. The ion and electron fluxes were computed along the feature using Monte Carlo method. The surface potential profiles and electric field for the entire feature were generated by solving Laplace equation using finite elements method. Calculations were performed in the case of simplified model of Ar+/CF4 non-equilibrium plasma etching of SiO2.展开更多

The Bar- ton-Bandis model and the Kulhaway model are adopted as the normal and the tangential deformation model of faults, respectively, where the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion is satisfied. In practical projects, the values of the mechanical parameters of rock and faults are restricted in a bounded range for in-situ test, and the optimal mechanical parameters are obtained from this range by a loop. Comparing with the traditional finite element method (FEM), the DDM regression results are more accurate.展开更多

Dislocation peculiarity in large sapphire boule (0001) basal plane was investigated by chemical etchiing, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray topography method. The triangular dislocation etch pit measured is 7.6× 10^1-8.0×10^2 cm^2, in which relative high-density dislocations were generated at both initial and final stages of crystal growth. The analysis of single-crystal X-ray topography shows that there are no apparent sub-grain boundaries; the dislocation lines are isolated and straight. Finally, the origins of low-density dislocation in sapphire crystal are discussed by numerical analysis method.展开更多

Establishing an effective and rapid early-warning method is strongly considered but quite challenging since lithium plating behavior is determined by diverse factors. In this contribution, we present a non-destructive electrochemical detection method based on transient state analysis and threeelectrode cell configuration. Through dividing the iR drop value by the current density, the as-obtained impedance quantity(R_(i)) can serve as a descriptor to describe the change of electrochemical reaction impedance on the graphite anode. The onset of lithium plating can be identified from the sharp drop of R_(i). Once the dendritic plated lithium occurs, the extra electrochemical reactions at the lithium interfaces leads to growing active area and reduced surface resistance of the anode. We proposed a protocol to operate the batteries under the limited capacity, which renders the cell with 98.2% capacity retention after 1000 cycles without lithium plating. The early-warning method has also been validated in in-situ optical microscopy batteries and practical pouch cells, providing a general but effective method for online lithium plating detection towards safe batteries.展开更多

文摘The adsorption of CO_(2) on MgAl layered double hydroxides(MgAl-LDHs) based adsorbents has been an effective way to capture CO_(2),however the adsorption capacity was hampered due to the pore structure and the dispersibility of adsorption active sites. To address the problem,we investigate the effect of intercalated anion and alkaline etching time on the structure, morphology and CO_(2) uptake performances of MgAl-LDHs.MgAl-LDHs are synthesized by the onepot hydrothermal method, followed by alkaline etching of NaOH,and characterized by x-ray diffraction,N_(2) adsorption, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The CO_(2) adsorption tests of the samples are performed on a thermogravimetric analyzer, and the adsorption data are fitted by the first-order,pseudo-second-order and Elovich models, respectively. The results demonstrate that among the three intercalated samples,MgAl(Cl) using chloride salts as precursors possesses the highest adsorption capacity of CO_(2),owing to high crystallinity and porous structure, while MgAl(Ac) employing acetate salts as precursors displays the lowest CO_(2) uptake because of poor crystallinity, disorderly stacked structure and unsatisfactory pore structure. With regard to alkaline etching, the surface of the treated MgAl(Cl) is partly corroded, thus the specific surface area and pore volume increase, which is conducive to the exposure of adsorption active sites.Correspondingly, the adsorption performance of the alkaline-etched adsorbents is significantly improved, and MgAl(Cl)-6 has the highest CO_(2) uptake. With the alkaline etching time further increasing, the CO_(2) adsorption capacity of MgAl(Cl)-9 sharply decreases, mainly due to the collapse of pore structure and the fragmentized sheet-structure.Hence,the CO_(2) adsorption performance is greatly influenced by alkaline etching time, and appropriate alkaline etching time can facilitate the contact between CO_(2) molecules and the adsorbent.

文摘With the rapid increase of energy demand and the increasingly highlighted environmental problems, clean, safe and widely distributed geothermal resources have become a hot spot for renewable resources development. The state of in-situ stress is a major control parameter for multiple links including well location, fracture inspiration and reservoir assessment, so how to determine the accurate state of in-situ stress in the deep thermal reservoir becomes a core problem drawing widely attention and urgent to be solved. Based on features of hot dry rock reservoir in terms of temperature and pressure and the comparison analysis, this article proposes the method of Anelastic Strain Recovery(ASR) as an effective method for determining the state of in-situ stress in the area with HDR resources distributed and explains the availability of ASR method by application examples.
文摘Double packer equipment for hydraulic test can be used to measure pressure of test zone directly, and it is frequently used to perform many kinds of hydraulic tests and take groundwater sample from borehole. The test method of this equipment mainly includes the test design, implementation, interpretation and synthetic analysis. By adopting the double packer equipment for hydraulic test, the parameter distribution of rock permeability along borehole can be acquired, as well as the connectivity, water conductivity and water bearing capacity of the disclosed structure and the chemical characteristics of the deep groundwater. It is a necessary method for the research and evaluation of the complex hypotonicity terrace site selection under geological conditions. This method is not only suitable for the geological disposal of high level radioactive waste, but also can be used in the site selection of underground facilities such as storage of petroleum and carbon dioxide. Meanwhile, it has a good application prospect in other hydrogeological investigation fields.

文摘Process technology of multiple cylindrical micro-pins by wire-electrical discharge machining (wire-EDM) and electrochemical etching was presented. Furthermore, a good agreement between experimental and theoretical results was confirmed.

文摘Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were performed to investigate F+ continuously bombarding SiC surfaces with energies of 100 eV at different incident angles at 300 K. For all incident angles, the CF species is dominant over CF2 and CF3.

文摘Refined control of etched profile in microelectronic devices during plasma etching process is one of the most important tasks of front-end and back-end microelectronic devices manufacturing technologies. Calculations were performed in the case of simplified model of Ar+/CF4 non-equilibrium plasma etching of SiO2.

文摘For the rational manipulation of the production quality of high-temperature metallurgical engineering, there are many challenges in understanding the processes involved because of the black box chemical/electrochemical reactors. To overcome this issue, various in-situ characterization methods have been recently developed to analyze the interactions between the composition, microstructure, and solid-liquid interface of high-temperature electrochemical electrodes and molten salts. In this review, recent progress of in-situ hightemperature characterization techniques is discussed to summarize the advances in understanding the processes in metallurgical engineering.In-situ high-temperature technologies and analytical methods mainly include synchrotron X-ray diffraction(s-XRD),laser scanning confocal microscopy, and X-ray computed microtomography(X-rayμ-CT),which are important platforms for analyzing the structure and morphology of the electrodes to reveal the complexity and variability of their interfaces. In addition,laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy,high-temperature Raman spectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy provide microscale characterizations of the composition and structure of molten salts.More importantly, the combination of X-rayμ-CT and s-XRD techniques enables the investigation of the chemical reaction mechanisms at the two-phase interface. Therefore, these in-situ methods are essential for analyzing the chemical/electrochemical kinetics of high-temperature reaction processes and establishing the theoretical principles for the efficient and stable operation of chemical/electrochemical metallurgical processes.

文摘A multivariable regression analysis of the in-situ stress field, which considers the non-linear deformation behavior of faults in practical projects, is presented based on a newly developed three-dimensional displacement discontinuity method (DDM) program. Comparing with the traditional finite element method (FEM), the DDM regression results are more accurate.

文摘In this paper, large-sized sapphire (Φ230×210 mm, 27.5 kg) was grown by SAPMAC method (sapphire growth technique with micro-pulling and shoulder-expanding at the cooled center). Finally, the origins of low-density dislocation in sapphire crystal are discussed by numerical analysis method.

文摘Lithium plating in working batteries has attracted wide attention in the exploration of safe energy storage. The early-warning method has also been validated in in-situ optical microscopy batteries and practical pouch cells, providing a general but effective method for online lithium plating detection towards safe batteries.

文摘Employing an ideal elasto-plastic model, the typically used strength reduction method reduced the strength of all soil elements of a slope. Therefore, this method was called the global strength reduction method(GSRM).However, the deformation field obtained by GSRM could not reflect the real deformation of a slope when the slope became unstable. For most slopes, failure occurs once the strength of some regional soil is sufficiently weakened; thus, the local strength reduction method(LSRM)was proposed to analyze slope stability. In contrast with GSRM,LSRM only reduces the strength of local soil, while the strength of other soil remains unchanged. Therefore, deformation by LSRM is more reasonable than that by GSRM.In addition, the accuracy of the slope's deformation depends on the constitutive model to a large degree, and the variable-modulus elasto-plastic model was thus adopted. This constitutive model was an improvement of the Duncan–Chang model, which modified soil's deformation modulus according to stress level, and it thus better reflected the plastic feature of soil. Most importantly, the parameters of the variable-modulus elasto-plastic model could be determined through in-situ tests, and parameters determination by plate loading test and pressuremeter test were introduced. Therefore,it is easy to put this model into practice. Finally,LSRM and the variable-modulus elasto-plastic model were used to analyze Egongdai ancient landslide.Safety factor, deformation field, and optimal reinforcement measures for Egongdai ancient landslide were obtained based on the proposed method.
