The likelihood of contracting HBV is greater in healthcare workers (HCWs) compared to individuals who are not in healthcare professions. Medical students are classified as a high-risk demographic since, like HCWs, they often come into contact with bodily fluids and blood during their clinical training. By 2030, a greater proportion of people will have received HBV vaccinations, thereby halting the spread of new infections—The Somali Ministry of Health with the help of various agencies announced to eradicate hepatitis from Somalia. The priority actions are national hepatitis strategy, hepatitis survey, public awareness, training, and capacity building. Objectives: This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitude, and vaccination status of Hepatitis B infection among medical university students in Mogadishu, Somalia, 2024. Methods: Cross-sectional study design was used in this study and the survey was carried out among medical students enrolled in Universities from April 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 26.0 software, Chi-square analysis and Logistic regression analysis to identify associations between demographic factors and HBV knowledge, attitudes, and vaccination status, as well as perspectives and immunization status concerning viral hepatitis. Results: The study achieved a response rate of (96%), with 230 participants. Most students (76.5%) were aged 26 - 30 years, and (60.8%) were male. Nearly half (48.7%) were in their third year of study, and the majority (36.1%) were from the Medicine and Surgery department. While 92.2% had heard of HBV, gaps in understanding were evident. About 37.8% erroneously believed HBV could spread via handshakes, and only 33.9% were aware HBV is treatable. Awareness of HBV’s severe complications, such as liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, was reported by 61.3%, and 83% understood that vaccination could prevent infection. Positive attitudes towards HBV vaccination were prevalent. Most participants (81.3%) supported vaccination before sexual activity, and 78.3% endorsed mandatory HBV vaccination policies for healthcare workers. However, 87.4% expressed concerns about the vaccine promoting unsafe sexual behavior, and 96.1% cited cultural resistance as a barrier to vaccination. A significant proportion (80.86%) of students had not been vaccinated against HBV. Among vaccinated students, 17.4%, 15.7%, and 47.82% had received one, two, and three doses, respectively. Barriers to vaccination included safety concerns (77.4%), lack of time (86.52%), and doubts about efficacy (42.61%). Conclusion: This study highlights gaps in knowledge and vaccination coverage among medical students, which are critical for their health and future clinical practice. Enhancing awareness and vaccination rates can empower students to advocate for preventative measures in their professional environments. Despite high awareness of HBV, knowledge gaps and cultural barriers persist, affecting attitudes and vaccination uptake among medical students. Educational interventions addressing misconceptions, cultural resistance, and vaccine safety are critical. Increased advocacy for mandatory vaccination policies in healthcare settings is also essential to improve HBV prevention methods.展开更多

Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 937 nurses in Yunnan Province using the Beliefs and Attitudes Scale on Nurses’ Prescriptive Authority. The scale assessed four dimensions: perceived need, self-efficacy, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing the overall score and each dimension. Results: The total score of the Beliefs and Attitudes Scale was 89.17 ± 17.69, indicating a moderate level of awareness and positive attitude among nurses. The highest-scoring dimension was perceived benefits (34.94 ± 8.04), while the lowest was perceived barriers (15.23 ± 3.5). Age was identified as a significant factor influencing the overall score and self-efficacy dimension (P < 0.05). Years of practice influenced the perceived benefits dimension (P = 0.051), while gender, age, and professional title were key factors affecting the perceived barriers dimension (P < 0.05). Male nurses and senior nurses demonstrated more caution toward potential risks associated with prescriptive authority. Conclusion: Nurses in Yunnan Province exhibit moderate levels of belief in and attitudes toward prescriptive authority, with age being the most significant influencing factor. Tailored training programs, policy promotion, and practical guidance are recommended to enhance nurses’ understanding and support for prescriptive authority, thereby improving nursing practices and addressing regional healthcare challenges.展开更多

Methods: A descriptive-correlational research design was employed, using purposive sampling to select 114 women of reproductive age from a community in Shandong Province, China. Data were collected through two structured questionnaires: one assessing HBV knowledge and the other measuring attitudes toward HBV. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including chi-squared tests and Spearman correlation analysis, were used to examine relationships between demographic characteristics, knowledge, and attitudes. Results: The majority of participants demonstrated low knowledge about Hepatitis B, with 99.1% scoring within the low knowledge range. However, respondents exhibited generally positive attitudes toward prevention and inclusion. Significant associations were found between vaccination history and better knowledge scores, as well as between familial exposure and increased knowledge and positive attitudes. A weak inverse relationship between knowledge and attitudes was observed, suggesting that higher knowledge did not necessarily correlate with more favorable attitudes. Conclusion: The study highlights significant gaps in knowledge about Hepatitis B among women of reproductive age, despite positive attitudes toward prevention and social inclusion. Vaccination history and familial exposure were key factors associated with better knowledge and more supportive attitudes. These findings suggest the need for targeted health education strategies that address both knowledge gaps and emotional factors to improve attitudes and enhance preventive behaviors.展开更多

文摘Background:We aimed to study physician attitudes toward ultrasound-guided procedures and possible improvements. We hypothesized that the usage of ultrasound in procedures may be limited by a high barrier of entry and that most physicians would choose to adopt software that provides real-time image guidance if accessible. Methods:A voluntary,cross-sectional survey of physicians at a single site was conducted using a five-point Likert scale.Data analysis included both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses and stratified by categorical descriptors, including variables of formal training, years of experience, and specialty of practice. Results:One hundred sixteen physicians responded to the survey. The majority disagreed that there was a steep learning curve(57.5%)and that they need more time to identify structures under ultrasound(85.0%).Overall attitudes were mixed about the use of additional software to improve ease of use,but most(55.4%)had positive opinions toward the addition of real-time 3D reconstruction.Respondents without formal training were significantly more likely to agree that additional software would improve ease of ultrasound-guided procedures(p=0.0389).Radiologists were significantly more likely to perceive a steeper learning curve and less likely to advocate for supplemental software compared to emergency medicine physicians, surgeons,or anesthesiologists. Conclusions:Surveyed physicians demonstrated comfort with ultrasound-guided procedures and a mixed stance toward the use of additional software to assist with procedures. Those without formal training had significantly more positive attitudes toward the use of additional technology to augment ultrasound-guided procedures, suggesting a knowledge gap that may benefit from such technology.
文摘BACKGROUND Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, presenting an increasing public health challenge, particularly in lowincome and middle-income countries. However, data on the knowledge, attitudes, and preventive practices regarding breast cancer and the associated factors among females in Wollo,Ethiopia, remain limited.AIM To assess the impact of family history(FH)of breast disease on knowledge, attitudes, and breast cancer preventive practices among reproductive-age females.METHODS A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in May and June 2022 in Northeast Ethiopia and involved 143 reproductive-age females with FH of breast diseases and 209 without such a history. We selected participants using the systematic random sampling technique. We analyzed the data using Statistical Package for Social Science version 25 software, and logistic regression analysis was employed to determine odds ratios for variable associations, with statistical significance set at P<0.05.RESULTS Among participants with FH of breast diseases, the levels of knowledge, attitudes, and preventive practices were found to be 83.9%[95%confidence interval(CI):77.9-89.9],49.0%(95%CI:40.8-57.1),and 74.1%(95%CI:66.9-81.3),respectively.In contrast, among those without FH of breast diseases, these levels were significantly decreased to 10.5%(95%CI:6.4-14.7),32.1%(95%CI:25.7-38.4),and 16.7%(95%CI:11.7-21.8),respectively.This study also indicated that knowledge, attitudes, and preventive practices related to breast cancer are significantly higher among participants with FH of breast diseases compared to those without HF breast diseases.CONCLUSION Educational status, monthly income, and community health insurance were identified as significant factors associated with the levels of knowledge, attitudes, and preventive practices regarding breast cancer among reproductive-age females.
文摘Objective:Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)is one of the most important life-saving procedures in the hospital.Contrary to medical guidelines, family presence during CPR is still not accepted in some countries.Family presence during CPR depends on the nurses’attitude, which is influenced by various factors.Emotional intelligence(EI)helps nurses make wise decisions and display responsible behavior, which is necessary for proper and good performance in nursing. The study’s purpose was to determine the attitude of acute care nurses toward family presence during CPR and its relationship with EI.Methods:The descriptive-analytical study was conducted among the nurses of acute care units(intensive care unit[ICU],critical care unit, and emergency department)in teaching hospitals of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences,Iran,in 2022-2023.A total of 186 nurses were included in the study using convenience sampling. The data collection tools were a checklist of demographic characteristics, nurses’attitude toward the presence of family scale, and Siberia Schering’s EI questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistics and SPSS software. Results:The mean age of the participants was(32.05±6.93)years.Of 186 nurses participating in the study,127(68.3%)were women and the rest were men.The mean score of attitude was 47.41±9.41(the minimum score of the nurses was 19 and the maximum score was 95).The mean score of EI was 99.27±8.86(the minimum score was 69 and the maximum score was 128).The results of Pearson’s correlation coefficient showed no significant relationship between the total score of attitude and EI of the participants(P=0.588).Data analysis showed that only the self-arousal dimension of EI has a significant relationship with the range of family self-control behaviors in attitude(P=0.037).Conclusions:The results showed that the nurses of acute care units have a positive attitude toward the presence of the family during CPR and have high EI.Although no significant relationship was observed between the 2 variables, paying attention to the influencing factors on the attitude of the nurse toward family presence during CPR in different societies needs more research and investigation.
文摘Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a primary reason for liver cancer and continues to be a worldwide public health issue. Increased advocacy for mandatory vaccination policies in healthcare settings is also essential to improve HBV prevention methods.

文摘This paper proposes an attitude control strategy for a flexible satellite equipped with an orthogonal cluster of three-dimensional(3D)magnetically suspended wheels(MSWs).The mathematical model for the satellite incorporating flexible appendages and an orthogonal cluster of magnetically suspended reaction wheel actuators is initially developed. After that,an adaptive attitude controller is designed with a switching surface of variable structure,an adaptive law for estimating inertia matrix uncertainty, and a fuzzy disturbance observer for estimating disturbance torques.Additionally,a Moore-Penrose-based steering law is proposed to derive the tilt angle commands of the orthogonal configuration of the 3D MSW to follow the designed control signal. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

文摘Adolescent depressive symptoms represent a significant public health concern, with negative life events and dysfunctional attitudes playing pivotal roles in theirdevelopment.A cross-sectional study by Yu et al assessed the interplay betweendysfunctional attitudes, social support, and depressive symptoms in 795 Chineseadolescents(49.9%male,mean age 15.2±1.8 years, age range 11-18 years)fromfive middle schools in Shandong Province.Using the Dysfunctional AttitudesScale,Adolescent Life Events Scale,Beck Depression Inventory, and SocialSupport Rating Scale, the study identified that dysfunctional attitudes,particularlyover-autonomy and over-perfectionism,mediate the relationship betweennegative life events and depressive symptoms.Social support moderated thisrelationship, significantly reducing depressive symptoms. These findingsunderscore the need for preventive and therapeutic strategies targeting dysfunctionalattitudes and enhancing social support to address adolescent depressivesymptoms. In this article,we extend their findings to highlight the significance ofculturally tailored interventions that incorporate familial and communitydynamics in mitigating depressive symptoms, particularly in collectivist societies.
文摘Objective: To investigate the current beliefs and attitudes of nurses in Yunnan Province toward prescriptive authority, analyze the influencing factors, and provide evidence for future research and policy formulation to support the establishment of nurses’ prescriptive authority in China. Tailored training programs, policy promotion, and practical guidance are recommended to enhance nurses’ understanding and support for prescriptive authority, thereby improving nursing practices and addressing regional healthcare challenges.
文摘Objective: To assess the knowledge and attitudes about hepatitis B (HBV) infection among women of reproductive age in China, exploring the factors that influence their understanding of the disease and their perceptions toward individuals infected with HBV. These findings suggest the need for targeted health education strategies that address both knowledge gaps and emotional factors to improve attitudes and enhance preventive behaviors.

文摘This paper investigates the design of an attitude autopilot for a dual-channel controlled spinning glideguided projectile(SGGP),addressing model uncertainties and external disturbances.Based on fixed-time stable theory,a disturbance observer with integral sliding mode and adaptive techniques is proposed to mitigate total disturbance effects, irrespective of initial conditions.By introducing an error integral signal, the dynamics of the SGGP are transformed into two separate second-order fully actuated systems.Subsequently, employing the high-order fully actuated approach and a parametric approach, the nonlinear dynamics of the SGGP are recast into a constant linear closed-loop system, ensuring that the projectile's attitude asymptotically tracks the given goal with the desired eigenstructure.Under the proposed composite control framework, the ultimately uniformly bounded stability of the closed-loop system is rigorously demonstrated via the Lyapunov method.Validation of the effectiveness of the proposed attitude autopilot design is provided through extensive numerical simulations.

文摘The geometric accuracy of topographic mapping with high-resolution remote sensing images is inevita-bly affected by the orbiter attitude jitter. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct preliminary research on the stereo mapping camera equipped on lunar orbiter before launching. In this work,an imaging simulation method consid-ering the attitude jitter is presented. The impact analysis of different attitude jitter on terrain undulation is conduct-ed by simulating jitter at three attitude angles, respectively. The proposed simulation method is based on the rigor-ous sensor model, using the lunar digital elevation model(DEM)and orthoimage as reference data. The orbit and attitude of the lunar stereo mapping camera are simulated while considering the attitude jitter.Two-dimensional simulated stereo images are generated according to the position and attitude of the orbiter in a given orbit.Experi-mental analyses were conducted by the DEM with the simulated stereo image. The simulation imaging results demonstrate that the proposed method can ensure imaging efficiency without losing the accuracy of topographic mapping. The effect of attitude jitter on the stereo mapping accuracy of the simulated images was analyzed through a DEM comparison.

文摘In this paper, guaranteed cost attitude tracking con-trol for uncertain quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle(QUAV)under safety constraints is studied.First,an augmented system is constructed by the tracking error system and reference system. This transformation aims to convert the tracking control prob-lem into a stabilization control problem. Then, control barrier function and disturbance attenuation function are designed to characterize the violations of safety constraints and tolerance of uncertain disturbances, and they are incorporated into the reward function as penalty items.Based on the modified reward function, the problem is simplified as the optimal regulation problem of the nominal augmented system, and a new Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation is developed.Finally,critic-only rein-forcement learning algorithm with a concurrent learning tech-nique is employed to solve the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equa-tion and obtain the optimal controller. The proposed algorithm can not only ensure the reward function within an upper bound in the presence of uncertain disturbances, but also enforce safety constraints. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated by the numerical simulation.
文摘Objective:To elucidate the relationship among knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding Covid-19 and their relationship with booster vaccination status among women with infertility. Methods:This questionnaire-based cross-sectional study was performed online and offline among women with infertility who visited an infertility clinic in Jakarta,Indonesia. We assessed the patient’s knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding Covid-19 and their relationship with booster vaccination status and sociodemographic profile. Results:A total of 178 subjects participated in this study, and most participants(92.6%)had received booster Covid-19 vaccines. From the questionnaire,74.2%had good knowledge, and 99.4%had good attitudes regarding Covid-19;however,only 57.9%of patients had good practices.A weak positive correlation existed between knowledge and attitudes(r=0.11,P=0.13)and a moderate negative correlation between attitudes and practices(r=-0.44,P=0.56).Participants’knowledge about vaccines and infertility was correlated with booster vaccination status(P=0.04).Academic background(P=0.01)and attitudes(P=0.01)were also correlated with booster vaccination status. The significant determinants of hesitance of receiving Covid-19 booster vaccines were high school education or below(OR=0.08,95%CI 0.02-0.36)and poor practices(OR=0.21,95%CI 0.05-0.95).Conclusions:The majority of the participants had received the Covid-19 booster vaccine and had good knowledge and attitudes but poor practices regarding Covid-19.Most participants had poor knowledge about the relationship between infertility and the Covid-19 vaccine. The general population should be more informed and reminded about practices to prevent Covid-19 and the relationship between vaccination and fertility to increase the number of people who receive Covid-19 booster vaccines.
文摘Objective:To assess the attitude and willingness of medical students of the Faculty of Medicine,University of Jaffna, regarding gamete donation. Methods:An institutional-based descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine,University of Jaffna, from September 2022 to May 2023 among undergraduate medical students who gave their voluntary participation.A self-administered questionnaire was used as a study instrument to collect data regarding their attitude and willingness toward gamete donation. Results:A total of 345 participants were recruited and their sociodemographic data revealed that 56.8%of the participants were female,62.3%aged between 26 and 30 years, and 92.2%were unmarried. Many of them received information regarding gamete donations during their clinical appointments.Over half(67.8%)of them showed a negative attitude towards gamete donation.Regarding willingness, only 39.7%of participants had a positive approach for being a gamete donor;among them,84.7%preferred anonymous donations.Religion and ethnicity had a significant influence on their attitudes and willingness. In addition, male was also found to be more willing to donate gametes. Conclusions:Most medical students have negative views about gamete donation.Imparting awareness and knowledge of assisted reproductive technology and gamete donation within medical students'sociocultural and ethical backgrounds might facilitate a change in attitude towards gamete donation amongst future medical practitioners.
