Terahertz biotechnology has been increasingly applied in various biomedical fields and has especially shown great potential for application in brain sciences.In this article,we review the development of terahertz biotechnology and its applications in the field of neuropsychiatry.Available evidence indicates promising prospects for the use of terahertz spectroscopy and terahertz imaging techniques in the diagnosis of amyloid disease,cerebrovascular disease,glioma,psychiatric disease,traumatic brain injury,and myelin deficit.In vitro and animal experiments have also demonstrated the potential therapeutic value of terahertz technology in some neuropsychiatric diseases.Although the precise underlying mechanism of the interactions between terahertz electromagnetic waves and the biosystem is not yet fully understood,the research progress in this field shows great potential for biomedical noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic applications.However,the biosafety of terahertz radiation requires further exploration regarding its two-sided efficacy in practical applications.This review demonstrates that terahertz biotechnology has the potential to be a promising method in the field of neuropsychiatry based on its unique advantages. 展开更多

Special Purpose Rice (SPR) is a technology that consists of different rice varieties that were developed by Central Luzon State University. The unique varietal characteristics of SPR are pigmented, glutinous, good-yielding varieties planted in lowland areas. This study was conducted to increase farmers’ income through employing different promotion and extension activities and enterprise development. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Cost and return and benefit-cost analysis were used to determine the financial benefits of using the SPR in different production systems. Results revealed that incorporating the following parameters is critical in the sustainable adoption of the SPR. Amongst them are: ensuring that recommended production technologies are strictly followed by the farmers, ensuring the quality of seeds for planting, the presence of a market for the produce, engaging the farmers in value-adding activities like processing, capability development in entrepreneurship, and adopting clustering approach of the farmers to address economies of scale in marketing and processing. The use of SPR produced an average yield of 6.11 MT/ha and 5.04 MT/ha during the dry and wet seasons from 2021-2023, respectively, higher than the usual varieties of inbred rice. The net benefit from producing a CLS-2 variety of SPR is higher than regular rice, having an average difference of Php 22,355.53 per hectare from 2021-2023. 展开更多

Cracks are important migration channels and storage spaces for oil and gas, and the peripheral cracks in the Ordos Basin have developed extensively after multiple tectonic movements. Using unmanned aerial vehicle oblique photogrammetry technology to obtain field outcrop image data and establish a three-dimensional model for observation, the NEE and NNW fractures are the most developed in the Yanchang Formation of the study area, while the NW and NNE fractures are slightly developed, all of which are high angle vertical fractures and belong to regional structural fractures. The NNW oriented cracks are restricted by the NEE oriented cracks and developed in the late stage. Combined with the analysis of regional geological background, fracture intersection relationship and tectonic stress field, it is considered that there are two stages of fractures in Dongjiahe, namely, the late Indosinian and Yanshanian. 展开更多

The integration of digital tools and effective knowledge management practices is critical for enhancing administrative efficiency and institutional continuity in higher education. This study investigates the relationships between knowledge modeling, institutional memory, leadership styles, technology, and administrative efficiency at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The study sought to identify the challenges and opportunities in integrating digital tools into administrative processes and to provide actionable recommendations for improvement. A mixed-methods research design was employed, combining quantitative analysis using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with qualitative thematic analysis of interviews. The findings revealed key challenges, including resistance to change, fragmented knowledge repositories, and inadequate funding, alongside opportunities such as centralized knowledge systems, cost-effective open-source tools, and capacity-building initiatives. The study highlights the importance of strategic leadership, robust policies, and investments in digital infrastructure to enhance administrative practices. Policy implications include the need for clear digital transformation guidelines and leadership training to foster innovation and collaboration. Recommendations include investing in scalable digital tools, implementing comprehensive capacity-building programs, and promoting stakeholder engagement to drive successful digital integration. These insights provide a roadmap for UCC and similar institutions seeking to optimize administrative efficiency through digital transformation. 展开更多

This paper considers a platform-led e-commerce supply chain consisted of a supplier and an online platform.The supplier distributes products through the online platform operated with reselling or agency mode.The online platform invests in blockchain technology and the supplier shares partial investment cost.The paper formulates four platform Stackelberg models to analyze the optimal pricing and information traceability level without and with cost-sharing mechanism under two platform modes.Through the model comparison,the impact of the cost-sharing mechanism and the choice of the platform mode are investigated.Results suggests that the cost-sharing mechanism is effective in improving two members profits under two platform modes.Without cost-sharing mechanism,the supplier benefits from the agency platform mode while the online platform benefits from the reselling platform mode,and thereby the win-win outcome cannot be achieved between two members.With cost-sharing mechanism,the supplier benefits from the agency platform mode while the online platform benefits from the reselling(agency)platform mode with a low(high)blockchain investment efficiency,and thereby the win-win outcome can be achieved between two members through the agency platform mode under a high blockchain investment efficiency.This paper further extends to the case that the online platform operates with hybrid mode,and derive the insights into the value of the agency platform mode in achieving the win-win outcome through the cost-sharing mechanism. 展开更多

The world today is undergoing disruptive,transformative shifts driven by a new wave of technological revolutions and industrial changes.In this context,a central question for China’s innovation-driven development strategy is how to effectively identify and measure high-quality technological innovations.Drawing on the stylized facts and scenario narrative of China’s technological landscape,this paper proposes a framework and measurement system for evaluating high-quality technological innovations.While China’s top-level design for technological innovation is guided by policy documents,the increasing number of enterprises applying for“high-tech enterprise”status has coincided with a decline in the quality of patent filings.In response,this paper first underscores the challenges and necessity of measuring the quality of technological innovations.Second,we introduce the high-quality technological innovation indicators and employ them to assess the quality of tech innovations at the firm level,utilizing an approach that combines analogical narrative,gene coding,text analysis,semantic logic,and a database of granted invention patents in China.Third,we examine the systematic and individual biases inherent in citation counts,a commonly used indicator,under specific contexts,and employ a granular instrumental variable approach to validate the effectiveness of the indicators.Finally,we develop a“family tree”of the indicators and explore their application scenarios through a combination of established and extended indicators.Our findings provide a theoretical foundation for evaluating China’s technological innovation quality,inform policy incentives,and offer insights for academia to apply high-quality technological innovation indicators in different contexts. 展开更多

With 200 km of new lines and 68 new stations,the Grand Paris Express(GPE)project is currently the biggest transport project under construction in Europe.Starting in 2010,the GPE project involves an ambitious schedule with major milestones planned between 2022 and 2030.To meet these deadlines as well as the associated cost,quality and safety goals,intensive construction technology is needed in this once-in-a-century megaproject,but this project also provides ideal opportunities to apply this technology.This paper offers a review of the new and innovative construction technologies used during the GPE project’s design and construction stages.Such a large project certainly presents a range of complexities and poses many technical,material,human and environmental challenges.Due to its high-risk nature,the risk management plan that applies throughout the whole GPE project,along with the contractual and insurance conditions,is introduced first.Then,an overview is provided of the design principles and construction methods selected to overcome the engineering challenges and reduce the technical risks,all of which are accompanied by monitoring methods and digital approaches.In addition,several new and innovative construction technologies adopted in this project are illustrated.The paper concludes with the project’s environmental protection. 展开更多

A key point in building a contemporary energy system is the search for sustainable and green energy.Many green energy sources exist in the road or pavement domain,such as solar,thermal,wind,and mechanical energy,etc.Under the repeated vehicle loads,stresses and strains are generated in the pavement,which can generate substantial mechanical energy.In recent two decades,there has been a growing scholarly preference for utilizing the piezoelectric effect to convert mechanical energy from pavement into electricity to supply low-power transportation facilities,pavement sensors,etc.This paper provides an in-depth review of state-of-the-art advances in road piezoelectric energy harvesters.The basic principle of piezoelectric energy harvesting and common piezoelectric materials were briefly introduced.The piezoelectric energy harvesters suitable for roads are thoroughly reviewed from five perspectives:structure,finite element analyses,protective packaging,management circuit,and application.Finally,the challenges faced by piezoelectric energy harvesters for pavements were summarized,and the potential research directions were also proposed.This review serves as a valuable reference for advancing road piezoelectric harvesting technology development. 展开更多

Objective To evaluate the preventive drug use of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection beyond the instructions by rapid health technology,and to provide reference for its rational clinical application.Methods The databases such as PubMed,Embase,the Cochrane Library,HowNet,Wanfang,VIP and HTA websites were searched.Two researchers screened the literature to extract data according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.If necessary,a third researcher was consulted.The included literature was analyzed and concluded through corresponding quality evaluation.Results and Conclusion Four meta-analysis articles and five pharmacoeconomics articles were included.In terms of effectiveness,compared with the blank group and the control group(diammonium glycyrrhizinate,glutathione,and polyene phosphatidylcholine),the preventive use of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection had a lower incidence of drug-induced liver injury with a more significant reduction in the levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatase,and total bilirubin.In terms of safety,except for an economic study in which some patients had a transient increase in blood pressure during the use of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection,other studies did not show the increasing risk of adverse reactions due to preventive medication.In terms of economy,the use of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection for prevention of different diseases did not necessarily have economic advantages over the control group(blank group and reduced glutathione,polyene phosphatidylcholine injection,traditional Chinese medicine combined with magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection).In the prevention of drug induced liver injury,magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection used beyond the instructions has certain efficacy and safety,but it may not be the economic optimal for other different diseases. 展开更多
