This oversight can lead to translations that, though accurate, lack formality. In this paper, we propose how to improve NMT formality with large language models (LLMs), which combines the style transfer and evaluation capabilities of an LLM and the high-quality translation generation ability of NMT models to improve NMT formality. The proposed method (namely INMTF) encompasses two approaches. The first involves a revision approach using an LLM to revise the NMT-generated translation, ensuring a formal translation style. The second approach employs an LLM as a reward model for scoring translation formality, and then uses reinforcement learning algorithms to fine-tune the NMT model to maximize the reward score, thereby enhancing the formality of the generated translations. Considering the substantial parameter size of LLMs, we also explore methods to reduce the computational cost of INMTF. Experimental results demonstrate that INMTF significantly outperforms baselines in terms of translation formality and translation quality, with an improvement of +9.19 style accuracy points in the German-to-English task and +2.16 COMET score in the Russian-to-English task. Furthermore, our work demonstrates the potential of integrating LLMs within NMT frameworks to bridge the gap between NMT outputs and the formality required in various real-world translation scenarios.展开更多

However, the outcomes of protein-protein interactions between NAT10 and its protein partners in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC) remain unexplored. In this study, we identified a significant upregulation of RNA-binding protein with serine-rich domain 1(RNPS1) in HNSCC, where RNPS1 inhibits the ubiquitination degradation of NAT10 by E3 ubiquitin ligase, zinc finger SWIM domain-containing protein 6(ZSWIM6), through direct protein interaction, thereby promoting high NAT10 expression in HNSCC. This upregulated NAT10 stability mediates the enhancement of specific tRNA ac^(4)C modifications, subsequently boosting the translation process of genes involved in pathways such as IL-6 signaling, IL-8 signaling, and PTEN signaling that play roles in regulating HNSCC malignant progression, ultimately influencing the survival and prognosis of HNSCC patients. Additionally, we pioneered the development of TRMC-seq, leading to the discovery of novel t RNA-ac^(4)C modification sites, thereby providing a potent sequencing tool for tRNAac^(4)C research. Our findings expand the repertoire of tRNA ac^(4)C modifications and identify a role of tRNA ac^(4)C in the regulation of mRNA translation in HNSCC.展开更多

My purpose in this paper is to answer the question of how elements of the vocabulary of sciences (literature and philosophy) as well as cultural specific items are rendered in the Wolof target text. Therefore, in this work, I explore methods and strategies of translation like borrowings, paraphrases, and analyze furthermore some differences noticeable in the translation of some poems at the cultural level. These analysis-steps enable the investigation of, contextually, the central issue of "cultural translatability" and the reception of translation of European poetry into African languages in general and German poetry into Wolof in particular. The article also focuses on the importance of the reception of German poetry in Wolof as a means of intercultural communication between German and Wolof-speaking countries but as means to develop African languages like Wolof in which the translation of the selected poems has been operated.展开更多

文摘Preserving formal style in neural machine translation (NMT) is essential, yet often overlooked as an optimization objective of the training processes. This oversight can lead to translations that, though accurate, lack formality. 文摘Selenium is a crucial trace element that contributes to physiological processes in the body as selenoproteins.Selenoproteins serve as an integral role in the body in controlling the redox state of cells and protecting against damage induced by oxidative stress. This study aimed to investigate the effects and possible mechanism of selenium on selenoproteins expression in EA.hy926 cells induced by oxidized low density lipoprotein(oxLDL).The impact of selenium on the viability of EA.hy926 cells was detected by the methylthiazolyldiphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)method, and intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)level and mitochondrial membrane potential were assessed by fluorescent probe DCFH-DA and JC-1,respectively.RNA-seq,quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qPCR),and Western blot were used to investigate the selenoprotein expression.Selenoprotein mRNA translation efficiency was analyzed by ribosome profiling(Ribo-Seq)coupled with transcriptomics. Our data showed that selenium supplementation(0.5μmol/L)significantly decreased ROS production, increased mitochondrial inner membrane potential and increased the proliferative activity of EA.hy926 cells induced by oxLDL.Moreover,The protective effects of selenium against oxLDL-induced EA.hy926 cell injury were associated with the upregulation of the expressions of selenoproteins glutathione peroxidase 1(GPX1),glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4),and thioredoxin reductase 1(TXNRD1).Furthermore,the expressions of selenoproteins GPX1 and GPX4 were hierarchically controlled, but the expressions of selenoproteins TXNRD1 were mainly regulated by oxLDL.Finally,Ribo-Seq coupled with transcriptomics results demonstrated that the expressions of selenoproteins GPX1,GPX4,and TXNRD1 were regulated at the translation process level. These findings suggested that selenium could have preventive effects in oxLDL induced EA.hy926 cell injury by regulating the selenoprotein expression, and the selenoproteins expressions at the translation level in vascular endothelial cells need further study.
文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)recurrence after liver transplantation(LT)presents a significant challenge, with recurrence rates ranging from 8%to 20%globally.Current biomarkers, such as alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)and des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin(DCP),lack specificity, limiting their utility in risk strati-fication.YKL-40,a glycoprotein involved in extracellular matrix remodeling, hepatic stellate cell activation, and immune modulation, has emerged as a promising biomarker for post-LT surveillance.Elevated serum levels of YKL-40 are associated with advanced liver disease, tumor progression, and poorer post-LT outcomes, highlighting its potential to address gaps in early detection and personalized management of HCC recurrence. This manuscript synthesizes clinical and mechanistic evidence to evaluate YKL-40’s predictive utility in post-LT care. While preliminary findings demonstrate its specificity for liver-related pathologies, challenges remain, including assay standardization, lack of pro-spective validation, and the need to distinguish between malignant and non-malignant causes of elevated levels.Integrating YKL-40 into multi-biomarker panels with AFP and DCP could enhance predictive accuracy and enable tailored therapeutic strategies.Future research should focus on multicenter studies to validate YKL-40’s clinical utility, address confounding factors like graft rejection and systemic inflammation, and explore its role in predictive models driven by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.YKL-40 holds transformative potential in reshaping post-LT care through precision medicine, providing a pathway for better outcomes and improved management of high-risk LT recipients.

文摘Existing studies have underscored the pivotal role of N-acetyltransferase 10(NAT10) in various cancers. Our findings expand the repertoire of tRNA ac^(4)C modifications and identify a role of tRNA ac^(4)C in the regulation of mRNA translation in HNSCC.

文摘In the field of natural language processing(NLP),the advancement of neural machine translation has paved the way for cross-lingual research.Yet,most studies in NLP have evaluated the proposed language models on well-refined datasets. We investigatewhether amachine translation approach is suitable for multilingual analysis of unrefined datasets, particularly, chat messages in Twitch. In order to address it,we collected the dataset, which included 7,066,854 and 3,365,569 chat messages from English and Korean streams, respectively. We employed several machine learning classifiers and neural networks with two different types of embedding:word-sequence embedding and the final layer of a pre-trained language model. The results of the employed models indicate that the accuracy difference between English, and English to Korean was relatively high, ranging from 3%to 12%.For Korean data(Korean, and Korean to English),it ranged from 0%to 2%.Therefore,the results imply that translation from a low-resource language(e.g.,Korean)into a high-resource language(e.g.,English)shows higher performance,in contrast to vice versa.Several implications and limitations of the presented results are also discussed. For instance,we suggest the feasibility of translation from resource-poor languages for using the tools of resource-rich languages in further analysis.
文摘The article deals with the translation of German poetry into Wolof and is based on Tamsir Annes's translation of German poems under the title Tdere-Woy yi/Das Buch der Lieder. The article also focuses on the importance of the reception of German poetry in Wolof as a means of intercultural communication between German and Wolof-speaking countries but as means to develop African languages like Wolof in which the translation of the selected poems has been operated.
