Protein Conformational Change Based on a Two-dimensional Generalized Langevin Equation

A two-dimensional generalized Langevin equation is proposed to describe the protein conformational change, compatible to the electron transfer process governed by atomic packing density model. We assume a fractional Gaussian noise and a white noise through bond and through space coordinates respectively, and introduce the coupling effect coming from both fluctuations and equilibrium variances. The general expressions for autocorrelation functions of distance fluctuation and fluorescence lifetime variation are derived, based on which the exact conformational change dynamics can be evaluated with the aid of numerical Laplace inversion technique. We explicitly elaborate the short time and long time approximations. The relationship between the two-diraensional description and the one-dimensional theory is also discussed. 展开更多

Asymmetry of Coordinate and Velocity in Noisy Oscillator

The velocity variable of a noise oscillator as an internal or external noise is proposed, the spectrum of which is quite different from that of the coordinate variable of the same noise oscillator. The former leads to ballistic diffusion for a free particle in long time limit and the asymptotical results of the system are sensitive to the initial condition. However, diffusion process induced by the coordinate of noise oscillator is a normal one and depends on the initial condition only in the transient time. This allows us to classify two kinds of non-Markovian processes: normal one and strong one, just like the processes induced by the coordinate and the velocity of noise oscillator, respectively.Applying to a correlation ratchet, we have found that the steady current of a particle subjected to the velocity of noise oscillator is opposite to that subjected to its coordinate, thus the former shows greenness and the latter redness. 展开更多

The Langevin equation including particle emission was used to reproduce the recently measured spin distribution of evaporation residue cross sections in the reaction ^16O+^184W at beam energies of 84, 92, 100, 108, 116 and 120 MeV. By comparing the theoretical calculations with the experimental data, the validity of the stochastic approach to dissipative fission is verified. Moreover, a pre-saddle nuclear viscosity coefficient of 5×10^21 s^-1 is extracted. 展开更多
