Conducted in 6 localities in the Far North Region of Cameroon (Doukoula, Yagoua, Guidiguis, Dziguilao, Maroua 3rd and Méri), a population of 240 local chickens, including 172 hens and 68 cocks were characterized in family farms. The choice of localities was made on the basis of their strong potential local chicken flocks in the region. To this end, each animal was the subject of a qualitative description based on the identification of the sex of the animal, the description of the colorations of the plumage and extremities, and the description of the types of format, plumage and crests. All observations were made with the naked eye and in daylight and then photographed. The main results show that the plumage colors are multiple and dominated by the White-Pied-Black (21.7%) and the Mille-fleur (20.8%);the wattles are dominated by the red (60%) and the pink (35.4%);the tarsi are dominated by the white (43.8%) and the black (32.08%);the white skin (92.5%) dominates over the pink skin (7.5%);the “Smooth-uniform” feather is dominant (97.08%), followed by the smooth-crested type (2.08%) and the fries type (0.82%);the medium size of the chickens is dominant (86.66%), followed by the dwarf size (9.58%) and the large size (3.75%). The results of this study demonstrate that there is a strong phenotypic diversity within the local chicken population. This diversity can serve as a basis for the development of selection, conservation and genetic potential improvement programs based on rational exploitation of the local chicken.展开更多

In order to ensure the safe operation of railroads, there is a need for wind and sand protection in heavily sandy areas. The wind and sand flow in the region is notably bi-directional. To shield railroads from sand, a unique sand fence made of folded linear high-density polyethylene(HDPE) is used, aligning with the principle that the dominant wind direction is perpendicular to the fence. This study employed field observations and numerical simulations to investigate the effectiveness of these HDPE sand fences in altering flow field distribution and offering protection. It also explored how these fences affect the deposition and erosion of sand particles. Findings revealed a significant reduction in wind speed near the fence corner;the minimum horizontal wind speed on the leeward side of the first sand fence(LSF) decreased dramatically from 3 m/s to 0.64 m/s. The vortex area on the LSF markedly impacted horizontal wind speeds. Within the LSF, sand deposition was a primary occurrence. As wind speeds increased, the deposition zone shrank, whereas the positive erosion zone expanded. Close to the folded corners of the HDPE sand fence, there was a notable shift from the positive erosion zone to a deposition zone. Field tests and numerical simulations confirmed the high windproof efficiency(WE) and sand resistance efficiency(SE) in the HDPE sand fence. Folded linear HDPE sheet sand fence can effectively slow down the incoming flow and reduce the sand content, thus achieving good wind and sand protection. This study provides essential theoretical guidance for the design and improvement of wind and sand protection systems in railroad engineering.展开更多

To address this challenge, generations of high-performance cotton plants of the Gossypium hirsutum L. species have been developed and are currently being commercialized. This study evaluated the impact of gin types on the agro-industrial quality of cotton in Côte d’Ivoire. To this end, cotton from the G3, R1, and R2 generations was harvested, sampled, and ginned on machines with 10 and 170 saws in the localities of Ouangolodougou, Ferkessédougou, Korhogo, M’Bengué, Boundiali, Séguéla, and Mankono, as well as at the Centre National de Recherche Agronomique CNRA) in Bouaké. The results demonstrated that cotton fibers obtained from ginning on 10-saw machines exhibited superior quality compared to those from 170-saw machines. Fiber length, fiber length uniformity, and short fiber rate exhibited the highest deviations according to gin type. The use of 170-saw gins resulted in a notable decline in quality. Conversely, micronaire index, fiber tenacity and elongation, and reflectance remained consistent across machine types. These results will enable us to more effectively regulate and advise cotton-processing factories, which primarily utilize 170-saw gins to enhance agro-industrial quality in Côte d’Ivoire. Furthermore, these results will assist breeders in incorporating them into their processes to enhance the quality of the varieties they offer to farmers.展开更多

文摘Using the ultra-low permeability reservoirs in the L block of the Jiangsu oilfield as an example,a series of experiments, including slim tube displacement experiments of CO_(2)-oil system, injection capacity experiments, and high-temperature,high-pressure online nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)displacement experiments, are conducted to reveal the oil/gas mass transfer pattern and oil production mechanisms during CO_(2) flooding in ultra-low permeability reservoirs. The impacts of CO_(2) storage pore range and miscibility on oil production and CO_(2) storage characteristics during CO_(2) flooding are clarified. The CO_(2) flooding process is divided into three stages:oil displacement stage by CO_(2),CO_(2) breakthrough stage,CO_(2) extraction stage.Crude oil expansion and viscosity reduction are the main mechanisms for improving recovery in the CO_(2) displacement stage. After CO_(2) breakthrough, the extraction of light components from the crude oil further enhances oil recovery.During CO_(2) flooding, the contribution of crude oil in large pores to the enhanced recovery exceeds 46%,while crude oil in medium pores serves as a reserve for incremental recovery. After CO_(2) breakthrough,a small portion of the crude oil is extracted and carried into nano-scale pores by CO_(2),becoming residual oil that is hard to recover. As the miscibility increases, the CO_(2) front moves more stably and sweeps a larger area, leading to increased CO_(2) storage range and volume. The CO_(2) full-storage stage contributes the most to the overall CO_(2) storage volume. In the CO_(2) escape stage, the storage mechanism involves partial in-situ storage of crude oil within the initial pore range and the CO_(2) carrying crude oil into smaller pores to increase the volume of stored CO_(2).In the CO_(2) leakage stage,as crude oil is produced,a significant amount of CO_(2) leaks out, causing a sharp decline in the storage efficiency.

文摘The muzzle blast overpressure induces disturbances in the flow field inside the crew compartment(FFICC)of a truck-mounted howitzer during the artillery firing. This overpressure is the primary factor preventing personnel from firing artillery within the cab.To investigate the overpressure characteristics of the FFICC,a foreign trade equipment model was used as the research object, and a numerical model was established to analyze the propagation of muzzle blast from the muzzle to the interior of the crew compartment under extreme firing condition. For comparative verification, the muzzle blast experiment included overpressure data from both the flow field outside the crew compartment(FFOCC)and the FFICC,as well as the acceleration data of the crew compartment structure(Str-CC).The research findings demonstrate that the overpressure-time curves of the FFICC exhibit multi-peak characteristics, while the pressure wave shows no significant discontinuity. The enclosed nature of the cab hinders the dissipation of pressure wave energy within the FFICC,leading to sustained high-amplitude overpressure. The frameskin structure helps attenuate the impact of muzzle blast on the FFICC.Conversely, local high overpressure caused by the convex or concave features of the cab's exterior significantly amplifies the overpressure amplitude within the FFICC.

文摘To prepare a conductive polymer actuator with decent performance,a self-built experimental platform for the preparation of polypyrrole film is employed. One of the essential goals is to examine the mechanical characteristics of the actuator in the presence of various combinations of process parameters, combined with the orthogonal test method of"four factors and three levels".The bending and sensing characteristics of actuators of various sizes are methodically examined using a self-made bending polypyrrole actuator. The functional relationship between the bending displacement and the output voltage signal is established by studying the characteristics of the actuator sensor subjected to various degrees of bending. The experimental results reveal that the bending displacement of the actuator tip almost exhibits a linear variation as a function of length and width. When the voltage reaches 0.8 V,the bending speed of the actuator tends to be stable. Finally, the mechanical properties of the self-assembled polypyrrole actuator are verified by the design and fabrication of the microgripper.

文摘In order to contribute to a better understanding of the biodiversity of local chicken populations, this study focused on the description of the essential qualitative parameters in the phenotypic characterization of local species. This diversity can serve as a basis for the development of selection, conservation and genetic potential improvement programs based on rational exploitation of the local chicken.

文摘Wind and sand hazards are serious in the Milan Gobi area of the Xinjiang section of the Korla Railway. This study provides essential theoretical guidance for the design and improvement of wind and sand protection systems in railroad engineering.

文摘The deformation characteristics of silty soils under vibrational loads can easily change due to the wetting process, leading to the failure of roadbed structures.Commonly used methods for improving silty soils in engineering often yield unsatisfactory economic and ecological outcomes. As an environment-friendly soil improvement material,Xanthan gum has broad application prospects and is therefore considered a solidifying agent for enhancing silty soil properties in the Yellow River Basin. In this study,a series of tests is conducted using a scanning electron microscope and a dynamic triaxial testing apparatus to investigate the microstructure and dynamic deformation characteristics of unsaturated silty soil with varying xanthan gum contents during the wetting process. The results show that xanthan gum effectively fills voids between soil particles and adheres to their surfaces, forming fibrous and network structures. This modification enhances the inherent properties of the silty soil and significantly improves its stability under dynamic loading.Specifically, with increasing xanthan gum content, the dynamic shear modulus increases while the damping ratio decreases.During the wetting process,as suction decreases, the dynamic shear modulus decreases while the damping ratio increases.Xanthan gum reduces the sensitivity of the dynamic deformation characteristics of the treated silty soil to changes in suction levels. Finally, based on the modified Hardin-Drnevich hyperbolic model,a predictive model for the dynamic shear modulus and damping ratio of treated silty soil is proposed, considering the xanthan gum content. These research findings provide a theoretical basis for the construction and maintenance of water conservancy, slope stabilization, and roadbed projects in the Yellow River Basin.
文摘Production of this crop is experiencing significant challenges, resulting in a decline in seed and fiber quality. Furthermore, these results will assist breeders in incorporating them into their processes to enhance the quality of the varieties they offer to farmers.

文摘Using complex network methods,we construct undirected and directed heatwave networks to systematically analyze heatwave events over China from 1961 to 2023,exploring their spatiotemporal evolution patterns in different regions. The findings reveal a significant increase in heatwaves since the 2000s,with the average occurrence rising from approximately 3 to 5 times, and their duration increasing from 15 to around 30 days, nearly doubling. An increasing trend of“early onset and late withdrawal”of heatwaves has become more pronounced each year.In particular, eastern regions experience heatwaves that typically start earlier and tend to persist into September, exhibiting greater interannual variability compared to western areas. The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Xinjiang are identified as high-frequency heatwave areas.Complex network analysis reveals the dynamics of heatwave propagation, with degree centrality and synchronization distance indicating that the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,Northeast China, and Xinjiang are key nodes in heatwave spread.Additionally, network divergence analysis shows that Xinjiang acts as a“source”area for heatwaves, exporting heat to surrounding regions, while the central region functions as a major“sink,”receiving more heatwave events.Further analysis from 1994 to 2023 indicates that heatwave events exhibit stronger network centrality and more complex synchronization patterns. These results suggest that complex networks provide a refined framework for depicting the spatiotemporal dynamics of heatwave propagation, offering new avenues for studying their occurrence and development patterns.

文摘To study the energy evolution and failure characteristics of saturated sandstone under unloading conditions, rock unloading tests under different stress paths were conducted. The energy evolution mechanism of the unloading failure of saturated sandstone was systematically explored from the perspectives of the stress path, the initial confining pressure, and the energy conversion rate. The results show that(1)before the peak stress, the elastic energy increases with an increase in deviatoric stress, while the dissipated energy slowly increases first. After the peak stress, the elastic energy decreases with the decrease of deviatoric stress, and the dissipated energy suddenly increases. The energy release intensity during rock failure is positively correlated with the axial stress.(2)When the initial confining pressure is below a certain threshold, the stress path is the main factor influencing the total energy difference. When the axial stress remains constant and the confining pressure is unloading, the total energy is more sensitive to changes in the confining pressure. When the axial stress remains constant, the compressive deformation ability of the rock cannot be significantly improved by the increase in the initial confining pressure. The initial confining pressure is positively correlated with the rock's energy storage limit.(3)The initial confining pressure increases the energy conversion rate of the rock;the initial confining pressure is positively correlated with the energy conversion rate;and the energy conversion rate has a high confining pressure effect. The increase in the axial stress has a much greater impact on the elastic energy than the confining pressure.(4)When the deviatoric stress is small, the confining pressure mainly plays a protective role.Compared with the case of triaxial compression paths, the rock damage is more severe under unloading paths, and compared with the case of constant axial stress, the rock damage is more severe under increasing axial stress.

文摘This study examined the effects of pasteurization(PAS),ultrasonic sterilization(ULS),and microwave sterilization(MWS)on the quality and storage characteristics of brine-fermented tofu(BFT)and fermented tofu(FT).Comparative analysis revealed that MWS had a negligible detrimental effect on the structural integrity and organoleptic properties of BFT and FT,while effectively maintaining its water-holding capacity(WHC)and exhibiting the least impact on its texture. In contrast,PAS and ULS increased hardness and chewiness significantly(P<0.05),but ULS also enhanced the brightness of tofu.Throughout the storage period, the WHC,elasticity, and sensory properties of tofu generally decreased, whereas the hardness and chewiness increased.PAS-BFT and MWS-FT maintained sensory quality for the longest periods of 14 and 12 days respectively, and could be decomposed to more small molecule peptides within 0–8 days and 0–6 days, which are more easily to be absorbed by the body. The findings discovered that MWS is the most suitable method for sterilization of tofu, with superior capability in maintaining the quality, extending shelf life, and improving digestibility of tofu.

文摘Plasma spark sources are widely used in high-resolution seismic exploration. However, research on the excitation mechanism and propagation characteristics of plasma spark sources is very limited. In this study,we elaborated on the excitation process of corona discharge plasma spark source based on indoor experimental data. The electrode spacing has a direct impact on the movement of bubbles. As the spacing between bubbles decreases, they collapsed and fused, thereby suppressing the secondary pulse process.Based on the premise of linear arrangement and equal energy synchronous excitation, the motion equation of multiple bubbles under these conditions was derived, and a calculation method for the near-field wavelet model of plasma spark source was established. We simulated the source signals received in different directions and constructed a spatial wavelet face spectrum.Compared with traditional far-field wavelets, the spatial wavelet facial feature representation method provides a more comprehensive display of the variation characteristics and propagation properties of source wavelets in three-dimensional space. The spatial wavelet variation process of the plasma spark source was analyzed, and the source depth and the virtual reflection path are the main factors affecting the wavelet. The high-frequency properties of plasma electric spark source wavelets lead to their sensitivity to factors such as wave fluctuations, position changes, and environmental noise.Minor changes in collection parameters may result in significant changes in the recorded waveform and final data resolution. So,the facial feature method provides more effective technical support for wavelet evaluation.

文摘In the application of high-pressure water jet assisted breaking of deep underground rock engineering, the influence mechanism of rock temperature on the rock fragmentation process under jet action is still unclear. Therefore, the fluid evolution characteristics and rock fracture behavior during jet impingement were studied. The results indicate that the breaking process of high-temperature rock by jet impact can be divided into four stages:initial fluid-solid contact stage, intense thermal exchange stage, perforation and fracturing stage, and crack propagation and penetration stage. With the increase of rock temperature, the jet reflection angles and the time required for complete cooling of the impact surface significantly decrease, while the number of cracks and crack propagation rate significantly increase, and the rock breaking critical time is shortened by up to 34.5%.Based on numerical simulation results,it was found that the center temperature of granite at 400℃ rapidly decreased from 390 to 260℃ within 0.7 s under jet impact. In addition,a critical temperature and critical heat flux prediction model considering the staged breaking of hot rocks was established. These findings provide valuable insights to guide the water jet technology assisted deep ground hot rock excavation project.

文摘Forests play an important role in controlling the formation and movement processes of debris flows. They contribute to soil stabilization, regulation of soil water content, and act as robust structures impeding the downstream progression of debris flows. On the positive side, trees,to some extent, can intercept debris flows and effectively mitigate their velocity by increasing flow resistance. On the negative side, trees may suffer damage from debris-flow hazards, characterized by the generation of substantial quantities of wood fragments and consequential ramifications such as river channel blockage, resulting in backwater rise.In extreme cases, this blockage collapse can lead to instantaneous discharge amplification, thereby adversely impacting urban safety and impeding sustainable development. Therefore,in order to grasp the effects of tree characteristics on tree failure modes, the tree failure modes and corresponding parameters, diameters at breast height(DBH)and root-soil plate size, were identified and recorded through the post-event field investigation in Keze Gully,a region prone to debrisflow events in Sichuan,China, respectively. To investigate the impact of spatial variability in tree root distribution on tree failure modes, the root crosssectional area ratio(RAR),root density(RD),root length density(RLD)and soil detachment rate(SDR)were obtained. The findings indicated that:(1)Tree characteristics reflect the interactions of debris flows and trees, and influence the tree failure modes ultimately. The root distribution characteristics influence the size and shape of the root-soil plate to affect the resistance of trees.(2)Compared to burial and abrasion, stem breakage and overturning are the predominant modes of tree failure in debris-flow hazards.Trees with a smaller DBH primarily experience stem breakage and bending, and trees with a larger DBH mostly experience overturning.(3)The root-soil plate shapes of overturned trees, affected by the root architecture and root growth range, are generally semielliptical or semicircular, and the horizontal and vertical radii increase with DBH,but the correlation between the root-soil plate’s breadth-depth ratio and DBH is low.(4)The biomass and RAR decrease with distance. The RAR distribution exhibit the order of upslope direction>downslope direction>lateral direction. The coarse root biomass significantly increases with DBH,but no clear trend in fine root biomass.(5)The roots can significantly enhance the soil erosion resistance, but the erosion resistance of coarse roots is not as significant as that of fine roots. The erosion resistance increases with DBH,and follows the order of upslope direction>downslope direction>lateral direction. The results could provide new insights into the influences of tree and root distribution characteristics on tree failure modes during debris flows.
