The sp...Understanding the spectrum of idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating d isorders (IIDD) is a fundamental issue for the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders as well as for the approach to their pathogenesis. The spectrum of IIDD is usually classified according to clin ical course and lesion distribution. We compared the demographic features, clini cal characteristics, laboratory findings, and genetic backgrounds between 193 Ja panese patients with and without clinically or radiographically fulminant attack s who all satisfied the diagnostic criteria for multiple sclerosis (MS). “Fulmi nant attacks”in the current study represent attack related clinically or radio logically severe relapses but do not necessarily mean severe disability. Patient s with fulminant attacks were clinically and immunogenetically distinct from tho se free of such attacks, and the previously described characteristics of the opt icospinal form of MS (OSMS) or neuromyelitis optica (NMO) were mostly shared by patients with fulminant attacks. HLA profiles were similar among patients with f ulminant attacks irrespective of the lesion distributions. The GG homozygous and G alleles of the CTLA4 gene A/G coding SNP at position 49 in exon 1 were signif icantly more common in patients with fulminant attacks than in those without. At tack related severity may be an important factor if validated by prospective st udies defining criteria and establishing relationships to disease course and tre atment regimens.展开更多

This platform efficiently reduces t...This paper introduces a novel verification development platform for the passive UHF RFID tag,which is compatible with the ISO/IEC 18000-6B standard,operating in the 915MHz ISM band. This platform efficiently reduces the design and development time and cost, and implements a fast prototype design of the passive UHF RFID tag. It includes the RFID analog front end and the tag control logic, which is implemented in an Altera ACEX FPGA. The RFID analog front end, which is fabricated using a Chartered 0.35μm two-poly four-metal CMOS process, contains a local oscillator, power on reset circuit, matching network and backscatter, rectifier, regu- lator,AM demodulator, etc. The platform achieves rapid, flexible and efficient verification and development, and can also be fit for other RFID standards after changing the tag control logic in FPGA.展开更多
[Objective] This study was to germinate the hybrid seeds of [Den.Burana Green Star × Den.Rainbow-compactum] under aseptic condition and to explore the parameters for rapid propagation of F1 plantlets via tissue c...[Objective] This study was to germinate the hybrid seeds of [Den.Burana Green Star × Den.Rainbow-compactum] under aseptic condition and to explore the parameters for rapid propagation of F1 plantlets via tissue culture.[Method]Hybridization between Den.Burana Green Star(female parent)and Den.Rainbow-compactum(male parent)was performed and the in vitro culture and proliferation of F1 hybrids were studied using eight different basic media including MS,1/2MS,1/3MS,1/4MS,B5,N6,modified Knudson and H.[Result]Improved Knudson medium appended with 1.0 mg/L 6-BA,1.0 mg/L NAA and 10% mature banana puree performed best in F1 seed germination under aseptic condition,as well as the rapid propagation of protocorm-like body.Of all the eight media tested,1/2MS is the medium most suitable for the in vitro rapid propagation of the F1 seedlings.Efficiency of eight media in the in vitro rapid propagation was in order 1/2 MS MS1/3 MS1/4 MS ≈N6 improved Knudson ≈B5H.NAA presented better rooting and growth-promoting effect in the in vitro rapid propagation of the F1 seedlings than IBA.And the optimal NAA concentration to recommend from our experiment results was 2.0 mg/L.[Conclusion]Our experimental results provided mature method and important technological information for hybrid breeding dendrobium.展开更多
