The central research question will be: what is the influence of the affective sphere on changes that take place in the city and vice versa how much do these changes affect the emotional sphere? By placing subjects at the center of the research, the paper intends to study the relationship between individuals-as well as groups and communities-and urban spaces they inhabit. Stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG) is the main investigation method for pre-surgical evaluation of patients suffering from drug-resistant partial epilepsy. SEEG signals reflect two types of paroxysmal activity: i...Stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG) is the main investigation method for pre-surgical evaluation of patients suffering from drug-resistant partial epilepsy. SEEG signals reflect two types of paroxysmal activity: ictal activity and interictal activity or interictal spikes (IS). The relationship between IS and ictal activity is an essential and recurrent question in epiletology. In this paper, we present a distributed and parallel architecture for space and temporal distribution analysis of IS, based on a distributed and collaborative methodology. The proposed approach exploits the SEEG data using vector analysis of the corresponding signals among multi-agents system. The objective is to present a new method to analyze and classify IS during wakefulness (W), light sleep (LS) and deep sleep (DS) stages. Temporal and spatial relationships between IS and seizure onset zone are compared during wakefulness, light sleep and deep sleep. Results show that space and temporal distribution for real data are not random but correlated.展开更多

Here, we theoretically demonstrate the spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking in a cavity quantum electrody...Spontaneous symmetry breaking has revolutionized the understanding in numerous fields of modern physics. Here, we theoretically demonstrate the spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking in a cavity quantum electrodynamics system in which an atomic ensemble interacts coherently with a single resonant cavity mode. The interacting system can be effectively described by two coupled oscillators with positive and negative mass, when the two-level atoms are prepared in their excited states. The occurrence of symmetry breaking is controlled by the atomic detuning and the coupling to the cavity mode,which naturally divides the parameter space into the symmetry broken and symmetry unbroken phases.The two phases are separated by a spectral singularity, a so-called exceptional point, where the eigenstates of the Hamiltonian coalesce. When encircling the singularity in the parameter space, the quasiadiabatic dynamics shows chiral mode switching which enables topological manipulation of quantum states.展开更多

Up to the present time, there are three kinds of conditional risk measures, whose model spaces are L^∞(E), L^p(E)(1 p +∞) and LF^p(E)(1 p +∞) respectively, and a conditional convex dual representation theorem has been established for each kind. The purpose of this paper is to study the relations among the three kinds of conditional risk measures together with their representation theorems. We first establish the relation between L^p(E) and LF^p(E), namely LF^p(E) = Hcc(L^p(E)), which shows that LF^p(E)is exactly the countable concatenation hull of L^p(E). Based on the precise relation, we then prove that every L^0(F)-convex L^p(E)-conditional risk measure(1 p +∞) can be uniquely extended to an L^0(F)-convex LF^p(E)-conditional risk measure and that the dual representation theorem of the former can also be regarded as a special case of that of the latter, which shows that the study of L^p-conditional risk measures can be incorporated into that of LF^p(E)-conditional risk measures. We then extend many of these ideas to incorporate the case of a group action. This approach gives new insight into Hamana's theory of G-injective operator spaces and G-injective envelopes. Our new proofs of these classic results, use only topological methods and eliminate the need for results from the theory of Boolean algebras and AW*-algebras.展开更多
