In application to the Newton gravitation theory, the analysis consists of three stages. First, we assume that the gravitational force is determined by the initial sphere radius and constant density and does not change in the process of the sphere collapse. The obtained analytical solution allows us to find the collapse time in the first approximation. Second, we construct the step-by-step process in which the gravitational force at a given time moment depends on the current sphere radius and density. The obtained numerical solution specifies the collapse time depending on the number of steps. Third, we find the exact value of the collapse time which is the limit of the step-by-step solutions and study the collapse and the expansion processes in the Newton theory. In application to general relativity, we use the space model corresponding to the special four-dimensional space which is Euclidean with respect to space coordinates and Riemannian with respect to the time coordinate only. The obtained solution specifies two possible scenarios. First, sphere contraction results in the infinitely high density with the finite collapse time, which does not coincide with the conventional result corresponding to the Schwarzschild geometry. Second, sphere expansion with the velocity which increases with a distance from the sphere center and decreases with time.展开更多

With the stress-strain relationship of geometrically exact beam theory, and the principle of virtual displacement and D’Alembert principle, the virtual work balance equation of the tapered cantilever beam element is derived. The internal force, external force, and inertial force virtual work of the beam element is discretized by weak form quadrature element method. The numerical results show the variation of the natural frequency of the beam with the taper when the tapered cantilever beam is not subjected to the load and the free end is subjected to the concentrated load and bending moment.展开更多

It proposes that each material object, including living creatures, is concomitant with a fraction of the charged complex masses of DM and DE in proportion to its mass. This perception provides new insights into the physics of nature and its constituents from subatomic to cosmic scales. This complex nature of DM and DE explains our inability to see DM or harvest DE for the last several decades. The positive complex DM is responsible for preserving the integrity of galaxies and all material systems. The negative complex charged DE induces a positive repelling force with the positively charged DM and contributes to the universe’s expansion. Both fields are Lorentz invariants in all directions and entangle the whole universe. The paper uses CFT to investigate zero-point energy, particle-wave duality, relativistic mass increase, and entanglement phenomenon and unifies Coulomb’s and Newton’s laws. The paper also verifies the existence of tachyons and explains the spooky action of quantum mechanics at a distance. The paper encourages further research into how CFT might resolve several physical mysteries in physics.展开更多

文摘This article centers on The Call of the Wild,an English novel by American author Jack London, alongside two Chinese translations by Dajie Liu and Menglin Zhang, and Rongyue Liu.Seventy sentences containing motion events and their corresponding translations were randomly selected for analysis. The study focuses on the primary elements of motion events-manner,path,and ground-and examines their Chinese translations through the lens of Skopos theory.Skopos theory emphasizes whether translators can adopt appropriate translation strategies according to various contextual factors during the translation process.Compared to verb-framed languages,satellite-framed languages possess a richer vocabulary for manner verbs, express more detailed manner information, use more satellite words to indicate paths, and incorporate more background information.Verb-framed languages,by contrast, typically express manner information only when necessary and tend to include less background information. The analysis reveals that both Chinese translations embody the core principle of Skopos theory:translation strategies are determined by their purpose. To fulfill the novel’s translation objectives, the translators adeptly adjust their strategies for motion event components based on different contextual needs. It is noted that the Chinese translations do not fully retain the characteristics of English as a typical satellite-framed language. This observation aligns with Skopos theory’s purpose-oriented approach, which prioritizes translation goals over strict adherence to source text characteristics.

文摘The exponential growth in the scale of power systems has led to a significant increase in the complexity of dispatch problem resolution, particularly within multi-area interconnected power grids. This complexity necessitates the employment of distributed solution methodologies, which are not only essential but also highly desirable. In the realm of computational modelling, the multi-area economic dispatch problem(MAED)can be formulated as a linearly constrained separable convex optimization problem. The proximal point algorithm(PPA)is particularly adept at addressing such mathematical constructs effectively. This study introduces parallel(PPPA)and serial(SPPA)variants of the PPA as distributed algorithms, specifically designed for the computational modelling of the MAED.The PPA introduces a quadratic term into the objective function, which, while potentially complicating the iterative updates of the algorithm, serves to dampen oscillations near the optimal solution, thereby enhancing the convergence characteristics.Furthermore, the convergence efficiency of the PPA is significantly influenced by the parameter c.To address this parameter sensitivity, this research draws on trend theory from stock market analysis to propose trend theory-driven distributed PPPA and SPPA,thereby enhancing the robustness of the computational models. The computational models proposed in this study are anticipated to exhibit superior performance in terms of convergence behaviour, stability, and robustness with respect to parameter selection, potentially outperforming existing methods such as the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)and Auxiliary Problem Principle(APP)in the computational simulation of power system dispatch problems. The simulation results demonstrate that the trend theory-based PPPA,SPPA,ADMM and APP exhibit significant robustness to the initial value of parameter c,and show superior convergence characteristics compared to the residual balancing ADMM.

文摘Localized rock failures, like cracks or shear bands, demand specific attention in modeling for solids and structures. This is due to the uncertainty of conventional continuum-based mechanical models when localized inelastic deformation has emerged. In such scenarios,as macroscopic inelastic reactions are primarily influenced by deformation and microstructural alterations within the localized area, internal variables that signify these microstructural changes should be established within this zone. Thus, localized deformation characteristics of rocks are studied here by the preset angle shear experiment.A method based on shear displacement and shear stress differences is proposed to identify the compaction, yielding, and residual points for enhancing the model's effectiveness and minimizing subjective influences.Next,a mechanical model for the localized shear band is depicted as an elasto-plastic model outlining the stress-displacement relation across both sides of the shear band.Incorporating damage theory and an elasto-plastic model,a proposed damage model is introduced to replicate shear stressdisplacement responses and localized damage evolution in intact rocks experiencing shear failure.Subsequently,a novel nonlinear mathematical model based on modified logistic growth theory is proposed for depicting the shear band's damage evolution pattern.Thereafter,an innovative damage model is proposed to effectively encompass diverse rock material behaviors, including elasticity, plasticity, and softening behaviors.Ultimately, the effects of the preset angles, temperature, normal stresses and the residual shear strength are carefully discussed. This discovery enhances rock research in the proposed damage model, particularly regarding shear failure mode.
文摘The spherically layered media theory has wide applications for electromagnetic wave scattering analysis.Due to the involved Bessel functions, the conventional formulations of spherically layered media theory suffer from numerical overflow or underflow when the Bessel function’s order is large, the argument is small or the argument has a large imaginary part. The first two issues have been solved recently by employing small-argument asymptotic formulas of Bessel functions, while the third issue remains unsolved. In this paper, the Bessel functions in the conventional formulation of the theory are replaced by scaled Bessel functions which have good numerical properties for high loss media, and stable formulas are derived.Numerical tests show that this approach can work properly with very high lossy media. Also, this approach can be seamlessly combined with the stable computation method for cases of small argument and large order of Bessel functions.
文摘Complex Field Theory (CFT) proposes that dark matter (DM) and dark energy (DE) are pervasive, complex fields of charged complex masses of equally positive and negative complex charges, respectively. The paper encourages further research into how CFT might resolve several physical mysteries in physics.

文摘Insect herbivory is ubiquitous in various ecosystems, and directly influences the growth and survival of individual plants, especially during their vulnerable early life stages like the seedling phase. This,in turn, exerts a significant influence on forest community diversity and structure,as well as ecosystem function and stability.Notable variation in herbivory has been detected both among and within plant species. For decades, many hypotheses have been proposed to explain such variations, including both biotic and abiotic variables. However, most studies have considered only one or several of these hypotheses by focusing on a few potential variables, and their results were usually inconsistent;thus, the factors driving herbivory remain unclear. In this study,we examined leaf herbivory by insects of woody species seedlings in a subtropical forest in southwestern China over two seasons. In total,24 potential variables that represented abiotic resource availability, characters of individual seedlings, conspecific and heterospecific species, and the whole seedling community were selected to test several commonly discussed alternative herbivory hypotheses.Overall, our findings showed that the plant apparency hypothesis was more supported than the other hypotheses in explaining insect seedling herbivory. Our results further indicated that the mechanisms and causes of insect herbivory are complex,multifactorial,species-specific and vary with seasons, indicating that there may be no uniform rules in explaining herbivory for all seedlings.Consequently, such complexity may play an important role in promoting species coexistence and biodiversity maintenance in seedling communities, which may further translate into the following generation of saplings or even adult communities.Changes in the community of insect herbivores and/or variables influencing insect herbivory, may disrupt stability of the original seedling community, thus affecting the regeneration and development of the entire forest community. Therefore,we suggest that issues related to insect herbivory should be considered when developing forest management and conservation.
