In the new scientific and technological revolution round,artificial intelligence(AI)technology has become a key leading force for industrial change.Research shows that AI not only promoted technical transformation and industry upgrades but also played a significant role in the rapid development of emerging industries.Based on the installed number of industrial robots and the industrial data by the National Bureau of Statistics,this study establishes a theoretical framework with the econometric model and compares the impact of AI on different categories of industries through empirical analysis.Our results show that AI not only promotes economic growth but also plays a key role in promoting the tertiary industry.Hence,optimization of industrial structure and economic upgrade can be induced. 展开更多

The application of industrial solid wastes as environmentally functional materials for air pollutants control has gained much attention in recent years due to its potential to reduce air pollution in a cost-effective manner.In this review,we investigate the development of industrialwaste-based functional materials for various gas pollutant removal and consider the relevant reaction mechanism according to different types of industrial solid waste.We see a recent effort towards achieving high-performance environmental functional materials via chemical or physical modification,in which the active components,pore size,and phase structure can be altered.The review will discuss the potential of using industrial solid wastes,these modified materials,or synthesized materials from raw waste precursors for the removal of air pollutants,including SO_(2),NO_(x),Hg^(0),H_(2)S,VOCs,and CO_(2).The challenges still need to be addressed to realize this potential and the prospects for future research fully.The suggestions for future directions include determining the optimal composition of these materials,calculating the real reaction rate and turnover frequency,developing effective treatment methods,and establishing chemical component databases of raw industrial solid waste for catalysts/adsorbent preparation. 展开更多

To solve the challenges of connecting and coordinating multiple platforms in the automotive industry and to enhance collaboration among different participants,this research focuses on addressing the complex supply relationships in the automotive market,improving data sharing and interactions across various platforms,and achieving more detailed integration of data and operations.We propose a trust evaluation permission delegation method based on the automotive industry chain.The proposed method combines smart contracts with trust evaluation mechanisms,dynamically calculating the trust value of users based on the historical behavior of the delegated entity,network environment,and other factors to avoid malicious node attacks during the permission delegation process.We also introduce strict control over the cross-domain permission granting and revocation mechanisms to manage the delegation path,prevent information leakage caused by malicious node interception,and effectively protect data integrity and privacy.Experimental analysis shows that this method meets the realtime requirements of collaborative interaction in the automotive industry chain and provides a feasible solution to permission delegation issues in the automotive industry chain,offering dynamic flexibility in authorization and scalability compared to most existing solutions. 展开更多

Strategies for the Airline Industry on the African Continent

African Aviation continues to fall short of serving the demands of the fast-growing African population. For major air transport in and out of the African continent, African travellers rely mainly on non-African Airlines. There is, however, one successful airline on the continent at the writing of this paper: Ethiopian Airlines and the Ethiopian Aviation Group. Why are no further successful airlines possible on a continent of 1.4 billion people (25% of the world’s population) and only a 2%-share of global air transport? At the introduction of SAATM, which is anticipated as the start of the domestic African aviation boom, most African countries seem unprepared to build a success story like Ethiopia. Transportation infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa does not start with roads and rail but with runways and airlines. This research investigates the basic requirements needed to equip Africa with a competitive aviation industry that would contribute some 5% to the continent’s GDP and create hundreds of thousands of workplaces. Interviews with African SAATM leaders signal a slowdown in the effort to succeed. The research is also concerned about the lack of inclusion in the implementation of a NetZero CO2 emission scheme in Africa. 展开更多

The feed industry serves as a critical intermediary between agriculture and animal husbandry,providing essential support for the modern breeding industry.Utilizing the annual financial report data from 19 publicly listed companies within the feed industry in 2023,a comprehensive evaluation index system was developed to assess the financial performance of these companies from four dimensions:debt paying ability,operational ability,profitability,and development ability.Factor analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis were employed to assess the financial performance of publicly listed companies within the feed industry.By comparing the mean classifications and comprehensive scores,this study analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of these listed feed companies.Ultimately,it offered recommendations for improvement in areas such as product optimization and enhancement,reasonable liability management,and the advancement of company governance practices. 展开更多

In complex industrial scenes,it is difficult to acquire high-precision non-cooperative target pose under monocular visual servo control.This paper presents a new method of target extraction and high-precision edge fitting for the wheel of the sintering trolley in steel production,which fuses multiple target extraction algorithms adapting to the working environment of the target.Firstly,based on obvious difference between the pixels of the target image and the non-target image in the gray histogram,these pixels were classified and then segmented in intraclass,removing interference factors and remaining the target image.Then,multiple segmentation results were merged and a final target image was obtained after small connected regions were eliminated.In the edge fitting stage,the edge fitting method with best-circumscribed rectangle was proposed to accurately fit the circular target edge.Finally,PnP algorithm was adopted for pose measurement of the target.The experimental results showed that the average estimation error of pose angleγwith respect to the z-axis rotation was 0.2346°,the average measurement error of pose angleαwith respect to the x-axis rotation was 0.1703°,and the average measurement error of pose angle β with respect to the y-axis rotation was 0.2275°.The proposed method has practical application value. 展开更多

Very recently,intensive discussions and studies on Industry 5.0 have sprung up and caused the attention of researchers,entrepreneurs,and policymakers from various sectors around the world.However,there is no consensus on why and what is Industry 5.0 yet.In this paper,we define Industry 5.0from its philosophical and historical origin and evolution,emphasize its new thinking on virtual-real duality and human-machine interaction,and introduce its new theory and technology based on parallel intelligence(PI),artificial societies,computational experiments,and parallel execution(the ACP method),and cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS).Case studies and applications of Industry 5.0 over the last decade have been briefly summarized and analyzed with suggestions for its future development.We believe that Industry 5.0 of virtual-real interactive parallel industries has great potentials and is critical for building smart societies.Steps are outlined to ensure a roadmap that would lead to a smooth transition from CPS-based Industry 4.0 to CPSS-based Industry 5.0 for a better world which is Safe in physical spaces,S ecure in cyberspaces,Sustainable in ecology,Sensitive in individual privacy and rights,Service for all,and Smartness of all. 展开更多

Industrial transformation and green production(ITGP) is a new 10-year international research initiative proposed by the Chinese National Committee for Future Earth. It is also an important theme for adapting and responding to global environmental change. Aiming at a thorough examination of the implementation of ITGP in China, this paper presents its objectives, its three major areas, and their progress so far. It also identifies the key elements of its management and proposes new perspectives on managing green transformation. For instance, we introduce a case study on cement industry that shows the positive policy effects of reducing backward production capacity on PCDD/Fs emissions. Finally,to develop different transformation scenarios for a green future, we propose four strategies: 1) policy integration for promoting green industry, 2)system innovation and a multidisciplinary approach, 3) collaborative governance with all potential stakeholders, and 4) managing uncertainty,risks, and long-time horizons. 展开更多

Taking the city of Qitaihe is as an example in order to provide practical methods for the selection of leading industries for coal resource cities, this paper establishes the specific operation scheme for selection of leading industries according to the actual situation of coal resource cities based on the theory of coupling coordination together with the coupling coordination for technological innovation. The results show that the degree for coupling coordination of the technological innovation for each alternative industry differentiates with the development of coal resource cities. For example, the average degree of food processing industry from agricultural produce is 0.9. Therefore, coal resource cities should develop some industries related to coal industry, such as coking industry, some chemical and medicines industry and non-metallic mineral products manufacturing, in the near future, however, some industries with greater market and influence potentials and low carbon emissions should be attached much importance to in the future. 展开更多
