This method reduces the mosquito’s ability to transmit dengue through reproductive strategies associated with Wolbachia infection, such as parthenogenesis, male elimination or feminization, sex ratio distortions and cytoplasmic incompatibility. Expert knowledge and a risk assessment framework were used to identify the risks associated with the release of Wolbachia-bearing mosquitoes. Then, consultations with individual participants were organized and a Bayesian network (BN) was developed to capture the relationship between the hazards as well as the likelihood of these adverse events occurring. Finally, risk was calculated from the probability and consequence estimates obtained from our Burkina Faso participants, using a questionnaire based on the identified risks. Our “Cause More Harm” study yielded 46.15% negligible risk, 44.23% very low risk and 9.62% low risk. The “socio-cultural change” parameter had the greatest influence, with the perception that the dissemination project would be poorly received by the local population. This parameter alone accounted for 80% of the most significant risks. This explains the fact that hazard RA 49 “negative messages in social media” is ranked as the highest individual risk (although the risk is low) with a calculated risk of 0.261. The risk assessment was designed to integrate the interdependent complexity of hazards likely to affect the dissemination of technology in the environment. It represents an important implementation phase in the success of this innovative research, introducing a new technology to combat the transmission of dengue fever.展开更多

However, despite the need for accurate climate change risk assessment, significant misconceptions in key risk terms, including vulnerability and impact, could lead to risk miscalculations. These misconceptions around risk concepts derive from the lack of risk terms’ standardization and the gaps in an integrated and widely accepted methodology for assessing climate change risks. Risk assessment frameworks should follow the specialties of each element/sector it is applied on and the special features of each climate hazard. Also, risk assessment matrix should not follow specific design settings but it should better follow the needs of each study, so as to optimize the understanding of each risk. Through an extensive literature review, this is the first paper that identifies gaps, inconsistencies and misuses of climate risk concepts and suggests specific systemization and standardization of risk terms definitions. However, studies have revealed instances where nurses demonstrate inaccurate practices. This study is aimed to measure the physical assessment skills of critical care nurses and the differences between levels of nursing education. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted involving a simple random sample of 101 nurses employed in critical care units. Results: Of the 101 participants, 56.4% were identified as female and 43.6% were male. In the sample, 71.0% held a diploma in nursing, while 29.0% held a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Vital signs, orientation, and skin assessments were performed correctly in ≥90% of cases, whereas the majority (≥60%) did not correctly assess neck veins, Homan’s signs, breath sounds, heart sounds, and bowel sounds. Only ≤10% of participants accurately executed these assessments. Significant associations were found between sex and pain (P=0.034), as well as between the type of education and closure of the health assessment (P=0.041). Further, female nurses scored 10.0 ± 2.3, and male nurses 8.5 ± 2.5, diploma holders scored 9.4 ± 1.8, and BSN holders scored 9.3 ± 2.7 at the global rating. Conclusions: The presence of an existing gap in the accurate assessment of patients poses a potential risk to patient care. It is essential to investigate the factors contributing to this gap and to develop strategies to address it, thereby enhancing the quality of physical assessment and ultimately improving patient care.展开更多

文摘After the design of aerospace products is completed,a manufacturability assessment needs to be conducted based on 3D model's features in terms of modeling quality and process design, otherwise the cost of design changes will increase.Due to the poor structure and low reusability of product manufacturing feature information and assessment knowledge in the current aerospace product manufacturability assessment process,it is difficult to realize automated manufacturability assessment. To address these issues,a domain ontology model is established for aerospace product manufacturability assessment in this paper. On this basis,a structured representation method of manufacturability assessment knowledge and a knowledge graph data layer construction method are proposed.Based on the semantic information and association information expressed by the knowledge graph,a rule matching method based on subgraph matching is proposed to improve the precision and recall. Finally, applications and experiments based on the software platform verify the effectiveness of the proposed knowledge graph construction and rule matching method.

文摘This paper presents a standardised workflow for conducting hazard assessments of mass wasting processes in remote mountain areas with limited data. The methodology integrates geomorphological mapping and remote sensing techniques and is adaptable to different national standards, thus ensuring its applicability in a variety of contexts. The principal objective is to guarantee the safety of mountainous regions, particularly in the vicinity of essential infrastructure, where the scope for implementing structural measures is restricted. The framework commences with comprehensive geomorphological mapping, which facilitates the identification of past hazardous processes and potential future hazards.New technologies, such as uncrewed aerial vehicles(UAVs),are employed to create high-resolution DEMs,which are particularly beneficial in regions with limited data availability. These models facilitate the assessment of potential hazards and inform decisions regarding protective measures. The utilisation of UAVs enhances the accuracy and efficiency of data collection, particularly in remote mountainous regions where alternative remotely sensed information may be unavailable. The integration of modern approaches into traditional hazard assessment methods allows for a comprehensive analysis of the spatial distribution of factors driving mass wasting processes. This workflow provides valuable insights that assist in the prioritisation of interventions and the optimisation of risk reduction in high mountainous areas.

文摘To quantify the seismic resilience of buildings,a method for evaluating functional loss from the component level to the overall building is proposed, and the dual-parameter seismic resilience assessment method based on postearthquake loss and recovery time is improved.A threelevel function tree model is established, which can consider the dynamic changes in weight coefficients of different category of components relative to their functional losses.Bayesian networks are utilized to quantify the impact of weather conditions, construction technology levels, and worker skill levels on component repair time.A method for determining the real-time functional recovery curve of buildings based on the component repair process is proposed.Taking a three-story teaching building as an example, the seismic resilience indices under basic earthquakes and rare earthquakes are calculated. The results show that the seismic resilience grade of the teaching building is comprehensively judged as GradeⅢ,and its resilience grade is more significantly affected by postearthquake loss. The proposed method can be used to predict the seismic resilience of buildings prior to earthquakes, identify weak components within buildings, and provide guidance for taking measures to enhance the seismic resilience of buildings.

文摘Recent deep neural network(DNN)based blind image quality assessment(BIQA)approaches take mean opinion score(MOS)as ground-truth labels, which would lead to cross-datasets biases and limited generalization ability of the DNN-based BIQA model. This work validates the natural instability of MOS through investigating the neuropsychological characteristics inside the human visual system during quality perception.By combining persistent homology analysis with electroencephalogram(EEG),the physiologically meaningful features of the brain responses to different distortion levels are extracted. The physiological features indicate that although volunteers view exactly the same image content, their EEG features are quite varied.Based on the physiological results,we advocate treating MOS as noisy labels and optimizing the DNN based BIQA model with earlystop strategies.Experimental results on both innerdataset and cross-dataset demonstrate the superiority of our optimization approach in terms of generalization ability.

文摘Pelagic fish are the most abundant species in upwelling regions, contributing 25%of total global fisheries production.Climate-driven changes in the marine environment play a crucial role in their population dynamics.Using Chilean jack mackerel(Trachurus murphyi)as an example, this study conducted simulations to quantify the impacts of environmental variations on the stock assessment.A habitat-based surplus production model was developed by integrating suitable habitat area into the model parameters carrying capacity(K)and intrinsic growth rate(r),with a suitable habitat area serving as the proxy for the environmental conditions for Chilean jack mackerel in the Southeast Pacific Ocean. The dynamics of Chilean jack mackerel stock and fisheries data were simulated, and four assessment models with different configurations were built to fit simulated data, with or without considering environmental effects. The results indicated that Joint K-r model, which integrated both parameters with the suitable habitat area index, outperformed the others by coming closest to the‘true'population dynamics.Ignoring habitat variations in the estimation model tended to overestimate biomass and underestimate harvest rate and reference points.Without observation and process error, the results were estimated with bias, while FMSY is relatively sensitive. This research illustrates the importance to consider random errors and environmental influences on populations, and provides foundation guidelines for future stock assessment.

文摘Beyond-visual-range(BVR)air combat threat assessment has attracted wide attention as the support of situation awareness and autonomous decision-making.However,the traditional threat assessment method is flawed in its failure to consider the intention and event of the target, resulting in inaccurate assessment results. In view of this,an integrated threat assessment method is proposed to address the existing problems, such as overly subjective determination of index weight and imbalance of situation. The process and characteristics of BVR air combat are analyzed to establish a threat assessment model in terms of target intention, event, situation, and capability. On this basis,a distributed weight-solving algorithm is proposed to determine index and attribute weight respectively. Then, variable weight and game theory are introduced to effectively deal with the situation imbalance and achieve the combination of subjective and objective. The performance of the model and algorithm is evaluated through multiple simulation experiments. The assessment results demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method in BVR air combat, indicating its potential practical significance in real air combat scenarios.
