Downconversion (DC) with emission of two near-infrared photons about 1000 nm for each blue photon absorbed was obtained in thulium (Tm3+) and ytterbium (Yb3+) codoped yt- trium lithium fluoride (LiYF4) single crystals grown by an improved Bridgman method. The luminescent properties of the crystals were measured through photoluminescence excitation, emission spectra and decay curves. Luminescence between 960 and 1050 nm from yb3+: 2Fs/2--+2FT/2 transition, which was originated from the DC from Tm3+ ions to Yb3+ ions, was observed under the excitation of blue photon at 465 nm. Moreover, the energy transfer processes were studied based on the Inokuti-Hirayama model, and the results indicated that the energy transfer from Tm3+ to Yb3+ was an electric dipole-dipole interaction. The max- imum quantum cutting efficiency approached with 0.49mo1% Tm3+ and 5.99mo1% Yb3+. increasing the energy efficiency of crystalline energy part of the solar spectrum. up to 167.5% in LiYF4 single crystal codoped Application of this crystal has prospects for Si solar cells by photon doubling of the high 展开更多

2.7-3.0μm波段激光在很多领域具有重要应用,为探索和发展该波段新型晶体材料,本文采用提拉法生长出Pr,Yb,Ho:GdScO_(3)晶体,通过共掺入Pr3+离子以达到衰减Ho^(3+):^(5)I_(7)能级寿命的目的.采用X射线衍射测试得到了晶体的粉末衍射数据... 2.7-3.0μm波段激光在很多领域具有重要应用,为探索和发展该波段新型晶体材料,本文采用提拉法生长出Pr,Yb,Ho:GdScO_(3)晶体,通过共掺入Pr3+离子以达到衰减Ho^(3+):^(5)I_(7)能级寿命的目的.采用X射线衍射测试得到了晶体的粉末衍射数据,测量了拉曼光谱,并对晶体的拉曼振动峰进行指认,对Pr,Yb,Ho:GdScO_(3)晶体的透过光谱、发射光谱和荧光寿命进行表征.Yb^(3+)的最强吸收峰在966 nm,吸收峰半峰宽为90 nm;2.7-3.0μm波段最强发射峰在2850 nm,半峰宽为70 nm;Ho^(3+):^(5)I_(6)和^(5)I_(7)能级寿命分别为1094μs和56μs.与Yb,Ho:GdScO_(3)晶体相比,Yb^(3+)的吸收峰和2.7-3.0μm的发射峰半峰宽明显展宽,同时下能级寿命显著减小,计算表明Ho^(3+):^(5)I_(7)与Pr^(3+):^(3)F_(2)+^(3)H_(6)能级之间能实现高效的能量传递.以上结果表明Pr,Yb,Ho:GdScO_(3)晶体是性能更优异的2.7-3.0μm波段激光材料. 展开更多

水平定向结晶法生长浓度渐变Yb∶YAG激光晶体及光谱性能研究

本文采用水平定向结晶(HDC)法成功生长出180 mm×81 mm×16 mm的浓度渐变Yb∶YAG激光晶体,从放肩部位和尾部分别获取了尺寸为40 mm×40 mm×7 mm、70 mm×70 mm×7 mm的Yb∶YAG激光晶体板条各两件。采用632 nm... 本文采用水平定向结晶(HDC)法成功生长出180 mm×81 mm×16 mm的浓度渐变Yb∶YAG激光晶体,从放肩部位和尾部分别获取了尺寸为40 mm×40 mm×7 mm、70 mm×70 mm×7 mm的Yb∶YAG激光晶体板条各两件。采用632 nm激光、偏光应力仪对晶体板条的光学性质进行检测,实验结果发现靠近晶坯自由表面的板条内部通透,无散射光路,应力较小且分布均匀,表明该晶体板条具有优异的光学质量。进一步测试分析了晶体板条不同位置处的吸收光谱,根据935 nm波长处的吸收系数计算出Yb^(3+)的掺杂浓度,发现40 mm×40 mm×7 mm的激光晶体板条中Yb^(3+)掺杂浓度沿晶体生长方向逐步增加,浓度梯度约为0.42%/cm;而70 mm×70 mm×7 mm的激光晶体板条中Yb^(3+)掺杂浓度几乎保持不变,约为4.50%。 展开更多

In this paper, the spectral and luminescence properties of a series of KGd(WO4)2 powder samples codoped with different concentrations of Er^3+ and Yb^3+ were reported,and the best doping concentrations were found to be lat% Er^3+ and 10at% Yb^3+ for attaining the strongest intensity. The Er^3+/yb^3+ codoped KGd(WO4)2 crystal with good optical quality was grown by the TSSG method and the growth conditions were presented. The unpolarized absorption and emission spectra of the crystal have been measured. The strong absorption peak is at 980 nm with a FWHM of 65 nm, and the emission peak is at 1536 nm when pumped by 976 rim. The fluorescence lifetime of manifold ^4I13/2 is estimated to be 4.5 ms at room temperature.Investigations of Er, Yb:KGW crystal have shown it to have necessary combination of properties to get an effective generation of - 1.54 μm eye-safe radiation with laser diode pumping. 展开更多

We report the repetitively Q-switched laser operation of the Yb-doped calcium niobium gallium garnet disordered garnet crystal, achieved with an acousto-optic modulator in a compact plano-concave resonator that is endpumped by a 935-nm diode laser. An average output power of 1.96 W is produced at pulse repetition rate of50 k Hz at emission wavelengths around 1035 nm, with a slope efficiency of 16%. The highest pulse energy of 269 μJ is generated at pulse repetition rate of 1 k Hz, with pulse width 12.1 ns and peak power 20.53 kW. 展开更多

We demonstrate a widely tunable near-infrared source from 767 nm to 874 nm generated by the intracavity second harmonic generation (SHG) in an optical parametric oscillator pumped by a Yb:LYSO solid-state laser. The home-made Yb:LYSO oscillator centered at 1035 nm delivers an average power of 2 W and a pulse duration as short as 351 fs. TWo MgO doped periodically poled lithium niobates (MgO:PPLN) with grating periods of 28.5-31.5 μm in steps of 0.5 μm and 19.5-21.3μm in steps of 0.2 μm are used for the OPO and intracavity SHG, respectively. The maximum average output power of 180 mW at 798 nm was obtained and the output pulses have pulse duration of 313 fs at 792 nm if a sech2-pulse shape was assumed. In addition, tunable signal femtosecond pulses from 1428 nm to 1763 nm are also realized with the maximum average power of 355 mW at 1628 nm. 展开更多

目前1.5μm激光二极管(Laser Diode,LD)泵浦的铒镱共掺玻璃/晶体被动调Q微型激光器广泛应用于激光测距、激光雷达等领域。随着激光器输出重频的增加,玻璃面临突出的热效应问题,晶体的热导率是玻璃的10倍以上,有望能够实现比玻璃基质更... 目前1.5μm激光二极管(Laser Diode,LD)泵浦的铒镱共掺玻璃/晶体被动调Q微型激光器广泛应用于激光测距、激光雷达等领域。随着激光器输出重频的增加,玻璃面临突出的热效应问题,晶体的热导率是玻璃的10倍以上,有望能够实现比玻璃基质更高重频的激光输出。报道了一种通过LD脉冲端面泵浦Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+):Lu_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)晶体的百kHz人眼安全激光器。通过实验优化增益介质掺杂浓度和长度、泵浦光斑尺寸和调Q晶体初始透过率等实验参数,同时适当缩短脉宽,优化泵浦占空比,提高了输出重频的稳定性。最终获得了重频为100 kHz、单脉冲能量0.7μJ、脉冲宽度240 ns、光束质量M^(2)=1.61的1537 nm脉冲激光输出。实现了输出脉冲频率与泵浦的一致,保证了输出重频的稳定性,有效解决了输出重频具有随机性、不稳定、不可控等问题。 展开更多

The absorption and emission spectra of the YVO4 single crystal co-doped with 1 at.% Nd^3+ and 1 at.% Yb^3+ are investigated. The efficient Nd^3+ → Yb^3+ energy transfer and the back transfer (Yb^3+ → Nd^3+) are observed at room temperature. The fluorescence lifetime of the 4F3/2 level of Nd^3+ in Nd,Yb:YVO4 is measured under 808 nm laser light excitation. The efficiency of Nd^3+ → Yb^3+ energy transfer in YVO4 is determined to be about 34%. 展开更多

The Yb3+:LiGd(WO4)2 crystal with the dimension of Ф15×35 mm3 was grown by Czochralski technique. The spectroscopic characterization and fluorescence dynamics of Yb3+ in yb3+:LiGd(WO4)2 crystal were investigated. The yb3+:LiGd(WO4)2 crystal exhibits a broad absorption band centered near 975 nm with the linewidths of 16 and 11 nm and maximal absorption cross-section of 3.60 × 10-20 and 2.90× 10-20 cm2 for π- and σ-polarization, respectively. The emission broadband has an FWHM of 47 and 45 nm with the emission cross sections of 3.92 × 10-20 and 3.34× 10-2o cm2 at 1020 nm for re- and or-polarization, respectively. The measured fluorescence lifetime is 398 gs. The blue light emission around 480 nm through cooperative upconversion from the de-excitation of excited Yb3+-Yb3+ pairs at 4 K was observed under 932-nm excitation and demonstrated. 展开更多

The Ho3+/yb3+ co-doped a-NaYF4 single crystal was grown successfully for the first time by a modified Bridgman method in which KF was used as assisting flux and a large temperature gradient (70-90℃ /cm) of solid-liquid interface was adopted. Upconversion emissions at green -544 nm, red -657 and -751 nm were obtained under 980 nm laser diode excitation. The intensity at -544 nm was much stronger than those of -657 and -751 nm. The mechanisms of the upconversion emissions were investigated by studying the relationship between the upconversion intensity and pump power. The optimized Yb3+ concentration was about 8.08moi% when Ho3+ concentration was hold at about 1.0mol%. The results showed that Ho3+/yb3+ doped α-NaYF4 single crystal was a possible candidate upconversion material for the green solid-state laser. 展开更多

According to Judd-Ofelt theory, the spectral strength parameters of Er^3+ ion were fitted to beΩ2 =0.3926 x 10^-20 cm^2, Ω4 =0.0721×10^-20 cm^2, Ω6 =0.0028 ×10.20 cm^2. Emission peaks centered at around 523,544 and 670 nm were observed under 334 nm He-Cd laser excitation and emission peaks centered at 1001 and 1534 nm were detected under 976 nm laser excitation. Strong green emission was also observed when the crystal was pumped with 808 nm and 976 nm laser. The mechanisms of frequency upconversion and sensitization were analyzed. 展开更多

采用密封的坩埚下降法技术生长了一系列Lu^(3+)(摩尔分数0、0.6%、1.2%、1.8%)掺杂Na_(5)Y_(9)F_(32)∶Ho^(3+)/Yb^(3+)/Ce^(3+)单晶体。在980 nm LD激发下,观察到单晶体的绿光543 nm(^(5)S_(2)/^(5)F_(4)→^(5)I_(8))、红光656 nm(^(5)... 采用密封的坩埚下降法技术生长了一系列Lu^(3+)(摩尔分数0、0.6%、1.2%、1.8%)掺杂Na_(5)Y_(9)F_(32)∶Ho^(3+)/Yb^(3+)/Ce^(3+)单晶体。在980 nm LD激发下,观察到单晶体的绿光543 nm(^(5)S_(2)/^(5)F_(4)→^(5)I_(8))、红光656 nm(^(5)F_(5)→^(5)I_(8))以及近红外750 nm(^(5)S_(2)/^(5)F4→^(5)I_(7))上转换发光。从上转换发光强度随激发光强度的变化情况,确定了543 nm、656 nm与750 nm的发光为双光子跃迁过程。研究了Lu^(3+)离子掺杂浓度对其发光强度与荧光寿命的影响情况,随着Lu^(3+)掺杂浓度从0增加到1.8%,单晶体中的656 nm红光逐步增强,543 nm绿光与750 nm近红外光随之减弱,红绿光强度比从0.01增加到了1.55,而543 nm荧光寿命从1.29 ms降低至0.99 ms。Lu^(3+)离子的掺入取代Y^(3+)晶格位,改变了单晶体的局域场环境,导致上转换发光强度的变化。基于随温度变化的上转换红光656 nm(^(5)F5→^(5)I8)与绿光543 nm(^(5)S_(2)/^(5)F4→^(5)I8)的发光强度变化,研究了1.8%Lu^(3+)掺杂Na_(5)Y_(9)F_(32)∶Ho^(3+)/Yb^(3+)/Ce^(3+)单晶体在298~448 K范围内的绝对灵敏度和相对灵敏度最大值分别为0.242%·K^(-1)和0.217%·K^(-1)。 展开更多

A method to compute the numerical derivative of eigenvalues of parameterized crystal field Hamiltonian matrix is given, based on the numerical derivatives the general iteration methods such as Levenberg-Marquardt, Newton method, and so on, can be used to solve crystal field parameters by fitting to experimental energy levels. With the numerical eigenvalue derivative, a detailed iteration algorithm to compute crystal field parameters by fitting experimental energy levels has also been described. This method is used to compute the crystal parameters of Yb^3+ in Sc2O3 crystal, which is prepared by a co-precipitation method and whose structure was refined by Rietveld method. By fitting on the parameters of a simple overlap model of crystal field, the results show that the new method can fit the crystal field energy splitting with fast convergence and good stability. 展开更多

After heat treatments, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed that CaF2 nano-crystals of 20-30 nm in diameter precipitated uniformly in the glass matrix. luminescence of Er^3+ at 540 nm and 658 nm was observed in Comparing with the host glass, high efficiency upconversion the glass ceramics under the excitation of 980 nm. Moreover, the size of the precipitated nano-crystals can be controlled by heat-treatment temperature and time. With the increase of the nano-crystal size, the intensity of the red emission increased more rapidly than that of the green emission. Based on the measured ... Crystal growth and optical properties of YbxY1 - xAl(BO3)(4)(abbreviated as Yb:YAB) are reported. Experimental results indicate that K2Mo3O10 is the most favorable flux for the growth of Yb:YAB. Based on the measured refractive indices, type I phase matching angle is calculated as theta (m) ( I ) = 34 degrees 12', which agrees well with the experimental result, theta (m) ( I ) = 34 degrees 38'. In the absorption spectra of this crystal, there exist two absorption bands located at 956 and 975 nm, respectively, which are suitable for InGaAs diode laser pumping, pi polarized absorption is slightly stronger than sigma polarized absorption at room temperature. In the fluorescence spectra, there are two fluorescence peaks located at 1.03 and 1.04 mu m respectively. The fluorescence lifetime at 1.03 mu m is 1.379 ms. The estimated emission cross section is in the magnitude of 10(-21) cm(2). 展开更多

由于施压不均匀、升温时温场分布不均匀等因素,键合晶体键合面上会产生气泡、孔洞、裂纹等缺陷。将热等静压技术与热键合技术结合,控制热等静压参数,可减少或消除键合晶体烧结后的内部缺陷。对键合晶体在不同温度、压强、恒温时间进行... 由于施压不均匀、升温时温场分布不均匀等因素,键合晶体键合面上会产生气泡、孔洞、裂纹等缺陷。将热等静压技术与热键合技术结合,控制热等静压参数,可减少或消除键合晶体烧结后的内部缺陷。对键合晶体在不同温度、压强、恒温时间进行热等静压实验,并通过弯曲强度、维氏硬度、透过光谱和光学均匀性测试对热等静压后的元件进行表征。借助金相显微镜观察键合晶体内部孔隙消除与缺陷的闭合情况,通过分析颗粒间应力变化,研究了热等静压工艺缺陷减少或消除机理。实验结果表明,热等静压后键合晶体元件键合面上的气泡与缺陷大幅度降低,弯曲强度较热等静压前提升185.29%,维氏硬度提升16.14%,透过率和光学均匀性明显提高。 展开更多

A comprehensive investigation is carried out to compare the spectroscopic properties, absorption saturation behaviors and lasing properties of a Yb ion in tetragonal LuPO4 and LuVO4 isomorphic crystals. Significant distinctions are revealed in many aspects of the lasing behavior for the Yb ion doped in the two crystal hosts, and Yb:LuPO_4 proves to be superior to Yb:LuVO4 since it enables efficient laser action to be much more easily achieved. With a 0.6 mm thick crystal plate of Yb:LuPO4, an output power of 3.30 W can be generated with an optical–optical conversion efficiency of 50.8%; whereas with a 2 mm long miniature crystal rod, the output power produced can reach 8.35 W with an optical–optical conversion efficiency of 46.7%. 展开更多

为了解决激光二极管(Laser Diode,LD)端面泵浦的热容激光器在泵浦阶段会在晶体内部产生大量废热的问题,由LD端面泵浦激光晶体的工作特点,建立了泵浦阶段无冷却、端面与空气热交换的Yb∶YAG复合晶体热模型。基于热传导理论,使用有限元方... 为了解决激光二极管(Laser Diode,LD)端面泵浦的热容激光器在泵浦阶段会在晶体内部产生大量废热的问题,由LD端面泵浦激光晶体的工作特点,建立了泵浦阶段无冷却、端面与空气热交换的Yb∶YAG复合晶体热模型。基于热传导理论,使用有限元方法对Yb∶YAG复合晶体的温度场、应力场及热形变场进行了计算,定量分析了键合长度与键合方式对温度场及热形变场的影响。研究结果表明:若以泵浦功率为50 W、泵浦光高斯半径为300μm的激光二极管对晶体尺寸为3 mm×3 mm×4 mm、键合长度为1 mm、键合方式为单端键合,且掺杂浓度为5.0 at.%的Yb∶YAG复合晶体端面进行泵浦,且工作时长为2 s,晶体内部场的最高温升为248℃、最大热形变量为5.9515μm、最大应力为3.70395×10^(9)N/m^(2)。研究结果对激光二极管端面泵浦的Yb∶YAG热容激光器的设计提供了理论依据。 展开更多

A series of Yb:Tm:LiNbO_3 crystals doped with x mol% Hf^(4+)ions(x = 2, 4, and 6) were grown by the Czochralski method. The dopant occupancy and defect structure of Hf:Yb:Tm:LiNbO_3 crystals were investigated by x-ray diffraction and infrared transmission spectra. The influence of Hf^(4+)ions concentration on UV–VIS–NIR absorption spectra of Hf:Yb:Tm:LiNbO_3 crystals was discussed. The upconversion luminescence of Hf:Yb:Tm:LiNbO_3 crystals was obtained under 980 nm excitation. Strong emissions were observed at 475 nm in the blue wavelength range and 651 nm in the red wavelength range. Remarkably, enhancement of the red and blue upconversion luminescence was achieved by tridoping Hf^(4+)ions. 展开更多
