The result shows: (1) "Chinese Cultural Aphasia" phenomenon does exist in Senior High English teaching, and students' ability of expressing Chinese culture in English is worse than expected. (2) The reasons that are responsible for the phenomenon are in the following: Both students and teachers lack Chinese cultural consciousness, including that teachers' teaching idea is not correct and teaching method is single. What's more, in textbooks the proportion of Chinese culture content is too little. Accordingly, some proposals are put forward to solve the problem: (1) Students should pay attention to English expressions of Chinese culture. While this network is being enlarged and improved with the Chinese govemment's persistent backing, it is, however, recognized that the influence and efficiency of the institutes are still limited. It might not be essential whether people come primarily as serious language learners, but necessarily, the platform has to be attractive enough for a considerable proportion of users to stick on, making the Confucius Institute System a sustainable cultural service provider. Within the background of information society, the Intemet, mobile service, digital broadcasting, and other types of new media would act as an important effort to help Confucius Institutes to improve the capabilities of interacting with users, offering users with abundant media-rich content, and minimizing users' inconvenience by enhancing users' experience, lowering travel and time cost, and easily providing multi-lingual support. In this paper, we take the platform of Confucius Institute Online (http://www.chinese.cn, the official Intemet portal of the Confucius Institute network) as a case of actuality to analyze how the Confucius Institute system could utilize the communication capability of new media to enrich, enlarge, and enhance the diffusion of Chinese culture and language. The phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese culture is serious.The existing English teaching materials emphasize too much Western culture education and lack traditional Chinese cultural elements.Therefore,this paper takes th...The phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese culture is serious.The existing English teaching materials emphasize too much Western culture education and lack traditional Chinese cultural elements.Therefore,this paper takes the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road as an example to study the specific application of traditional Chinese culture in cross-cultural English education.This paper first summarizes the significance of cross-cultural integration into college English education and then points out the serious phenomenon of Chinese cultural aphasia.Next,the paper focuses on English education,using English textbooks as a starting point to explore and integrate strategies related to excellent traditional Chinese culture from the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road.By integrating traditional Chinese culture into business English classes(with the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road as an example),the study explores the influence of such cultural integration on students’cross-cultural communication skills,cultural identity,and learning effects.The results showed that the P value of the experimental group and the control group was<0.05,that is,cultural integration had a positive effect on improving the effect of cross-cultural English education.The overall scores and cultural confidence of the experimental group are higher than those of the control group,which proves that cross-cultural teaching has a positive effect on the improvement of students’scores.展开更多

文摘The phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese culture is serious.The existing English teaching materials emphasize too much Western culture education and lack traditional Chinese cultural elements.Therefore,this paper takes the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road as an example to study the specific application of traditional Chinese culture in cross-cultural English education.This paper first summarizes the significance of cross-cultural integration into college English education and then points out the serious phenomenon of Chinese cultural aphasia.Next,the paper focuses on English education,using English textbooks as a starting point to explore and integrate strategies related to excellent traditional Chinese culture from the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road.By integrating traditional Chinese culture into business English classes(with the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road as an example),the study explores the influence of such cultural integration on students’cross-cultural communication skills,cultural identity,and learning effects.The results showed that the P value of the experimental group and the control group was<0.05,that is,cultural integration had a positive effect on improving the effect of cross-cultural English education.The overall scores and cultural confidence of the experimental group are higher than those of the control group,which proves that cross-cultural teaching has a positive effect on the improvement of students’scores.
文摘Due to the significant differences in history,culture and law,the basic characteristics of advertising ethics expression,as well as the standards and principles for ethical misconduct in advertising,vary among different countries or regions.As two typical representative countries in the dissemination of Chinese and Western advertising cultures,the differences in advertising ethics between China and the United States have certain research value for the current practice of cross-border advertising dissemination.The research focuses on representative advertising works that can showcase the cultural background differences or present the ethical tendencies of the two countries.Under the perspective of contemporary cross-cultural communication,it conducts a comparative analysis of the cultural and ethical manifestations of advertising in the two countries.The research specifically combines the three dimensions of cultural patterns divided by Hofstede,using positive or negative cases of Chinese and American advertisements to explore the issues of advertising ethics expression and ethical misconduct in China and the United States.Based on the cultural differences between China and the United States,it proposes normative strategies for addressing advertising ethics issues in the two countries.
