Augmented reality(AR)is an emerging dynamic technology that effectively supports education across different levels.The increased use of mobile devices has an even greater impact.As the demand for AR applications in ed...Augmented reality(AR)is an emerging dynamic technology that effectively supports education across different levels.The increased use of mobile devices has an even greater impact.As the demand for AR applications in education continues to increase,educators actively seek innovative and immersive methods to engage students in learning.However,exploring these possibilities also entails identifying and overcoming existing barriers to optimal educational integration.Concurrently,this surge in demand has prompted the identification of specific barriers,one of which is three-dimensional(3D)modeling.Creating 3D objects for augmented reality education applications can be challenging and time-consuming for the educators.To address this,we have developed a pipeline that creates realistic 3D objects from the two-dimensional(2D)photograph.Applications for augmented and virtual reality can then utilize these created 3D objects.We evaluated the proposed pipeline based on the usability of the 3D object and performance metrics.Quantitatively,with 117 respondents,the co-creation team was surveyed with openended questions to evaluate the precision of the 3D object created by the proposed photogrammetry pipeline.We analyzed the survey data using descriptive-analytical methods and found that the proposed pipeline produces 3D models that are positively accurate when compared to real-world objects,with an average mean score above 8.This study adds new knowledge in creating 3D objects for augmented reality applications by using the photogrammetry technique;finally,it discusses potential problems and future research directions for 3D objects in the education sector.展开更多
The benefits of regular physical activity are well known.Yet,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary setting.To investigate the incorporat...The benefits of regular physical activity are well known.Yet,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary setting.To investigate the incorporation of PA into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(MSK)anatomy course material.These synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy instructor.The fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously covered.After the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving MSK anatomy knowledge,PA levels,and mental wellbeing.Thirty participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of MSK concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).Many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce stress.The majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social connectedness.Overall,medical students saw benefit in PA based interventions to supplement MSK course concepts.Along with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating PA into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.展开更多

This study is to explore the dual effects of rural education in promoting the physical and mental health of adolescents and developing agricultural labor force in the Philippines.By analyzing the data of the Philippin...This study is to explore the dual effects of rural education in promoting the physical and mental health of adolescents and developing agricultural labor force in the Philippines.By analyzing the data of the Philippine Bureau of Statistics(PSA),the report of the Ministry of Education and the survey of the Asian Development Bank(ADB)from 2015 to 2022,and combining with 12 core documents,this paper summarized the data of the Ministry of Education.It reveals that rural education has significantly improved the health literacy of adolescents through curriculum and community interaction(education coverage increased from 48%in 2015 to 67%in 2021),while providing an average annual labor reserve of 15%for agricultural production.In spite of this,geographical isolation(30%of rural schools need to walk more than hour)and uneven distribution of resources(education expenditure per student in urban areas is 2.3 times that in rural areas)are still main constraints for the education effectiveness.Finally,this study proposes implementing the policy framework of"integration of agricultural education",integrating mental health services and vocational skills training,and establishing a cross-sectoral collaboration mechanism.展开更多
As a response to the complexity of modern health care,nursing education is undergoing significant transformation.This paper aims to explore changing dynamics in nursing education,highlighting trends,challenges,and the...As a response to the complexity of modern health care,nursing education is undergoing significant transformation.This paper aims to explore changing dynamics in nursing education,highlighting trends,challenges,and the potential of Design-Based Research(DBR)as a methodological approach for curricular enhancement.This study employed a qualitative synthesis methodology was utilised,employing a systematic literature analysis of peer-reviewed articles published from 2019 to 2023.Relevant studies were searched in primary databases such as PubMed,Scopus,and Google Scholar,using specific keywords pertaining to nursing education,innovative pedagogical approaches,and DBR.The review revealed significant trends in nursing education including empathy and resilience,cultural competence,technology,interprofessional education,as well as competency-based approaches.Major challenges included teacher shortages,limited clinical placements,technological adaptability,and student mental health issues.DBR became an approach to address these challenges and offers an iterative model for curriculum development and educational innovation.DBR is a systematic and collaborative way to improve nursing education.Despite the barriers to implementation,DBR can lead to a more applicable curriculum based on real-world healthcare needs and create a nimbler educational process to prepare nursing graduates for working in complex healthcare environments.展开更多

Methods: The...Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate health education using videos and leaflets for preconception care (PCC) awareness among adolescent females up to six months after the health education. Methods: The subjects were female university students living in the Kinki area. A longitudinal survey was conducted on 67 members in the intervention group, who received the health education, and 52 members in the control group, who did not receive the health education. The primary outcome measures were knowledge of PCC and the subscales of the Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile. Surveys were conducted before, after, and six months after the intervention in the intervention group, and an initial survey and survey six months later were conducted in the control group. Cochran’s Q test, Bonferroni’s multiple comparison test, and McNemar’s test were used to analyze the knowledge of PCC data. The Health Awareness, Nutrition, and Stress Management subscales of the Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile were analyzed by paired t-test, and comparisons between the intervention and control groups were performed using the two-way repeated measures analysis of variance. Results: In the intervention group of 67 people, the number of subjects who answered “correct” for five of the nine items concerning knowledge of PCC increased immediately after the health education (P = 0.006) but decreased for five items from immediately after the health education to six months later (P = 0.043). In addition, the number of respondents who answered “correct” for “low birth weight infants and future lifestyle-related diseases” (P = 0.016) increased after six months compared with before the health education. For the 52 subjects in the control group, there was no change in the number of subjects who answered “correct” for eight out of the nine items after six months. There was also no increase in scores for the Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile after six months for either the intervention or control group. Online education has become a critical mode of instruction in Chinese universities,particularly during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.This study examines information management in online education through a triadic f...Online education has become a critical mode of instruction in Chinese universities,particularly during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.This study examines information management in online education through a triadic framework encompassing classroom information management,teaching effectiveness management,and teaching information management.Drawing on in-depth interviews with administrators,teachers,and students,the findings reveal three primary challenges in online education:the absence of embodied information,the uncontrollable nature of online platforms,and nonverbal overload caused by Zoom fatigue.Teachers face difficulties maintaining presence and interaction due to limited feedback from students and risks associated with class recordings.Students experience increased psychological and physical fatigue due to the overlap of learning and living spaces.Recommendations to address these issues include enhancing teacher-student interaction to foster a sense of presence,improving the transparency of course information to align expectations,and adopting user-friendly teaching platforms with privacy safeguards.These insights aim to improve the security,effectiveness,and experience of online education in higher education institutions.展开更多

文摘This article aims to analyze the development and shortcomings in women’s education in Asia during the past two decades.Asian women students have been subjected to numerous forms of discrimination and unequal treatment in school and the global labor market,despite the efforts of educators,politicians,and many related stakeholders.The article first critically examines several theories of globalization and education from the perspective of equity.It then analyzes several typical pieces of study on the obstacles that Asian women students encounter both before and after graduation to draw implications for future research.

文摘Cross-cultural education plays a pivotal role in fostering mutual understanding and cultural exchange between China and Thailand.It not only nurtures talent to drive the economic and social development of both nations but also deepens their friendship and cooperation.Since 2023,the Center for Language Education and Cooperation(CLEC)under China’s Ministry of Education has partnered with the Chinese Department of the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Rangsit University(RSU)in Thailand to promote the innovative educational concept of“Chinese Plus.”This partnership resulted in the launch of the Chinese Plus Music program,with its first literacy camp officially held on November 25,2024.Rooted in the principles of mutual cultural learning and integrated arts education,the camp blends Chinese language learning with practical music training.It employs a multidimensional,highly interactive training model designed to equip Thai middle school teachers with fresh approaches to Chinese language education.

文摘1|Introduction Theranostics is quickly establishing itself as a key component in the field of cancer diagnosis and treatment^([1]).It is now considered the fifth pillar of contemporary oncology manage-ment alongside surgery,chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and immunotherapy^([2]).As theranostics continues to evolve,it is essential for clinicians and radiologists to be aware of the cur-rent landscape and trends in the field^([3-5]).This article aims to highlight the importance for global radiology training colleges to formally introduce theranostics into their training curricula.This is to ensure that their trainees will gain adequate exposure to this growing branch of precision medicine and to enable them to contribute effectively to the field of oncology.

文摘Since joining the Bologna Process in 2010,the Kazakhstani government has increasingly encouraged universities to develop full or partial(i.e.,trilingual)English-Medium Instruction(EMI)programs.In other contexts,Content and Language Integrated Learning(CLIL)has simultaneously been advocated as an approach to teaching English and additional languages in higher education and treated as a separate entity from EMI(Macaro,2018).Whether CLIL is advocated in policy or practice in Kazakhstani EMI contexts remains an empirical question.The purpose of this paper is to provide a systematic overview of national policy documents and select institutional curriculum documents.The analysis will consider not only concrete policies and pedagogies but also ideological and implementational spaces(Hornberger,2020)for CLIL pedagogy development.The paper concludes with recommendations for what may be possible and beneficial for the implementation of CLIL pedagogies in Kazakhstani higher education.

文摘With the rapid advancement of information technology,the quality assurance and evaluation of software engineering education have become pivotal concerns for higher education institutions.In this paper,we focus on a comparative study of software engineering education in China and Europe,aiming to explore the theoretical frameworks and practical pathways employed in both regions.Initially,we introduce and contrast the engineering education accreditation systems of China and Europe,including the Chinese engineering education accreditation framework and the European EUR-ACE(European Accreditation of Engineering Programmes)standards,highlighting their core principles and evaluation methodologies.Subsequently,we provide case studies of several universities in China and Europe,such as Sun Yat-sen University,Tsinghua University,Technical University of Munich,and Imperial College London.Finally,we offer recommendations to foster mutual learning and collaboration between Chinese and European institutions,aiming to enhance the overall quality of software engineering education globally.This work provides valuable insights for educational administrators,faculty members,and policymakers,contributing to the ongoing improvement and innovative development of software engineering education in China and Europe.

文摘The combination and application of information technology and higher education have led to changes in the form and mode of teaching management in higher education,promoting the continuous deepening of digital transformation in higher education.This paper discusses higher education management innovation triggered by digital technology and the new appearance of digital university governance,digital evaluation management,and internal governance of higher education.From the perspective of forging new forms,models,and paths of digital management through digital technology,this paper focuses on analyzing the reshaping of management systems by digitalization in higher education.The promotion and inspiration of digitalization on management system reform are provided,including typical features brought about,new paths opened up,and new advantages shaped.It is emphasized that the establishment of digital management system needs to rely on the systematic integration of multiple aspects.Finally,the challenges and solutions faced by the digital management system are deeply analyzed from the aspects of collaborative management and services,management process interoperability,evaluation and trust protection,and personnel digital literacy.Digital technology drives the transformation of higher education management system,resulting in new forms,models,paths,and methods of networked and digital management based on intelligent analysis and processing of educational and teaching data and promoting higher education management toward digital governance.The comprehensive establishment of a digital management system will unleash strong potential for universities to better fulfill their functions,and the high-quality development of higher education will be more solid and powerful.
文摘Online education has become a critical mode of instruction in Chinese universities,particularly during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.This study examines information management in online education through a triadic framework encompassing classroom information management,teaching effectiveness management,and teaching information management.Drawing on in-depth interviews with administrators,teachers,and students,the findings reveal three primary challenges in online education:the absence of embodied information,the uncontrollable nature of online platforms,and nonverbal overload caused by Zoom fatigue.Teachers face difficulties maintaining presence and interaction due to limited feedback from students and risks associated with class recordings.Students experience increased psychological and physical fatigue due to the overlap of learning and living spaces.Recommendations to address these issues include enhancing teacher-student interaction to foster a sense of presence,improving the transparency of course information to align expectations,and adopting user-friendly teaching platforms with privacy safeguards.These insights aim to improve the security,effectiveness,and experience of online education in higher education institutions.
