Unloading responses of pre-flawed rock specimens under different unloading rates 被引量:13

Based on the stress redistribution analysis of rock mass during the deep underground excavation, the unloading process of pre-flawed rock material was simulated by distinct element method (DEM). The effects of unloading rate and flaw inclination angle on unloading strengths and cracking properties of pre-flawed rock specimens are numerically revealed. The results indicate that the unloading failure strength of pre-flawed specimen exhibits a power-function increase trend with the increase of unloading period. Moreover, combined with the stress state analysis on the flaws, it is found that the unloading failure strength increases with the increase of flaw inclination angle. The cracking distribution of pre-flawed specimens under the unloading condition closely depends on the flaw inclination angle, and three typical types of flaw coalescence are observed. Furthermore, at a faster unloading rate, the pre-flawed specimen experiences a sharper and quicker unloading failure process, resulting in more splitting cracks in the specimens. 展开更多

The goaf may face a series of deformation and settlement problems when the room-pillar mining method is used to excavate ore and pillars in the deep strata.To this end,a deep room-pillar model with two levels was made,and the pillar recovery was carried out.The instantaneous deformation responses during the pillars recovery and the long-term settlements after the pillar recovery were analyzed.During the pillar recovery,different regions of surrounding rocks suffer from different dynamic disturbances which can be divided into three types,including(I)the combined action of blasting disturbance and unloading disturbance,(II)the sequential action of blasting disturbance and unloading disturbance,and(III)the action of unloading disturbance.After the pillar recovery,the settlement above the first recovering pillar is the largest,which has a traction effect on the settlement in other areas.The settlement process can be divided into two stages,stable displacement stage and unstable displacement stage.When the pillar-room system undergoes the unstable displacement stage,rock spalling and further cascading collapse will occur. 展开更多

To determine the relationship between slabbing failure and the specimen height-to-width(H/W)ratio and to analyze the conditions,characteristics,and mechanism of slabbing failure in the laboratory,uniaxial compression tests were conducted using six groups of granite specimens.The entire failure process was recorded using strain gauges and high-speed cameras.The initiation and propagation of fractures in specimens were identified by analyzing the monitoring results of stress,strain,and acoustic emission.The experimental results show that changes in the specimen H/W ratio can transform the macro failure mode.When the H/W ratio is reduced to 0.5,the macro failure mode is dominated by slabbing.Low load-bearing ability is observed in specimens with slabbing failure,and the slabbing fractures are approximately parallel to the loading direction.Moreover,the fracture propagation characteristics and acoustic emission signals of slabbing failure specimens show typical tensile failure characteristics,indicating that slabbing failure is essentially a special tensile failure. 展开更多

In this study, we analyse the relationship between the occurrences of influenza in Shenzhen, a rapid developing city in subtropic regions of southern China with over 10 million populations, and the vapor pressure (VP), the concentrations of atmospheric pollutants (SO2, NO2, PM10) for the period of 2003 - 2008. Using the data such as the rate of Influ- en-za-Like-Illness (ILI (%)), the concentrations of pollutants and vapor pressure, we show quite different results from pre-vious research conducted in other regions in China which are dominated by temperate climate and with influenza out-break in Winter and Autumn. Our results show that the rate of ILI in Shenzhen reaches its maximum in Summer and minimum in Winter and the concentrations of pollutants were significantly correlated with ILI (%), there are significant positive correlations between ILI (%) and VP which can explain over 25% the variance of ILI (%) variations. Quite surprisingly, both atmospheric SO2 and PM10 concentrations are negatively correlated with ILI (%), this is because acid deposition may limit the spread of disease, the seasonal variations of acid rain in Shenzhen could contribute to the sea-sonality of its influenza. Furthermore, there are some significant correlations between preceding VP and SO2 and PM10 concentrations to ILI occurrence and such connections can be used for ILI predictions. 展开更多

Directional axon regeneration and remyelination are crucial for repair of spinal cord injury(SCI),but existing treatments do not effectively promote those processes.Here,we propose a strategy for construction of niche-specific spinal white matter-like tissue(WMLT)using decellularized optic nerve(DON)loaded with neurotrophin-3(NT-3)-overexpressing oligodendrocyte precursor cells.A rat model with a white matter defect in the dorsal spinal cord of the T10 segment was used.The WMLT transplantation group showed significant improvement in coordinated motor functions compared with the control groups.WMLT transplants integrated well with host spinal cord white matter,effectively addressing several barriers to directional axonal regeneration and myelination during SCI repair.In WMLT,laminin was found to promote development of oligodendroglial lineage(OL)cells by binding to laminin receptors.Interestingly,laminin could also guide linear axon regeneration via interactions with specific integrins on the axon surface.The WMLT developed here utilizes the unique microstructure and bioactive matrix of DON to create a niche rich in laminin,NT-3 and OL cells to achieve significant structural repair of SCI.Our protocol can help to promote research on repair of nerve injury and construction of neural tissues and organoids that form specific cell niches. 展开更多
