We investigated the effect of additional doping with Ce on the ionic conductivity of the Nb-doped Li_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(LLZO)garnet ceramics using a combination of experimental and modeling approaches.Our results indicate that Ce doping can alter lattice parameters of the LLZNO,leading to the enhanced lithium ionic conductivity.The Ce,Nb co-doped LLZO(LLZNCO)structure with composition Li_(6.5)La_(3)Zr_(1.5-x)Nb_(0.5)Ce_(x)O_(12)(x=0.125)exhibits a lower activation energy(E_(a)=0.39 eV)than Li_(6.5)La_(3)Zr_(1.5)Nb_(0.5)O_(12)(LLZNO)(E_(a)=0.41 eV).Furthermore,Ce doping leads to an increase in Li~+conductivity from 6.4×10^(-4)to 7×10^(-4)S/cm at room temperature.In addition,we discuss the diffusivity and conductivity of our samples using ab initio molecular dynamics simulations and propose possible mechanisms to explain the enhanced Li-ion conductivity caused by co-doping with Ce and Nb.Our results demonstrate that the LLZNCO ceramics are promising candidates for potential solid-state electrolytes for Li-ion batteries. 展开更多

The present work investigates how axial static magnetic field affects the solidification structure and the solute distribution in directionally solidified GCr18Mo steel. Experimental results show that grain refinement and the colunmar to equiaxed transition is enhanced with the increases in the magnetic field intensity (B) and temperature gradient (G) and the decrease in the growth speed. This phenomenon is simultaneously accompanied by more uniformly distributed alloying elements. The corresponding numerical simulations verify a thermoelectric (TE) magnetic convection pattern in the mushy zone due to the interaction between the magnetic field and TE current. The TE magnetic convection in the liquid should be responsible for the motion of dendrite fragments. The TE magnetic force acting on the dendrite is one of the driving forces trigging fragmentation. 展开更多

The high efficiency of Ce addition in grain refinement ofδ-ferrite in a cast Fe–4 wt.%Si alloy was verified.In order to further understand the solute effect of Ce on the grain refinement of δ-ferrite,the conventional directional solidification technique,which enabled to freeze the solid–liquid interface to room temperature,was used to investigate the interfacial morphology and solute redistribution in the liquid at the front of the interface,together with thermodynamic calculation of the equilibrium partition coefficients of Ce and Si in Fe–4 wt.%Si–Ce system using the Equilib module and the FsStel database in FactSage software system.Metallographic examination using a laser scanning confocal microscope showed a transition of the solid–liquid interface from planar to cellular in the Fe–4 wt.%Si alloy after adding 0.0260 wt.%Ce during the directional solidification experiment.Further,electron probe microanalysis revealed an enhanced segregation of Si solute in the liquid at the front of the solid–liquid interface due to the Ce addition.This solute segregation is considered as the cause of planar to cellular interface transition,which resulted from the creation of constitutional supercooling zone.Thermodynamic calculation indicated that Ce also segregated at the solid–liquid interface and the Ce addition had negligible effect on the equilibrium partition coefficient of Si.It is reasonable to consider that the contribution of Ce to the grain refinement ofδ-ferrite in the cast Fe–4 wt.%Si alloy as a solute was marginal. 展开更多

Background:Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is fatal and detrimental to quality of life.Clinically,options for monitoring are often limited,potentially missing subtle neurological changes.Integrin β 1 (ITGB1) and β 3 (ITGB3) are the main components of integrin family receptors,which regulate the formation and stability of blood vessels.This study explored the relationship between the expression of ITGB1 and ITGB3 in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) to analyze their functional and clinical relevance.Methods:The expression of ITGB1 and ITGB3 in ICH was accomplished by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining and western blotting (WB) analysis,respectively.Results:Furthermore,the results demonstrated that ITGB1 was expressed in ICH tissues,but ITGB3 was not expressed in ICH tissues.Conclusions:In summary,the clinical progression of ICH was related to the expression of ITGB1.ITGB1 may be a potential biomarker and contribute to the treatment of ICH. 展开更多

In this paper, some properties of uniform s-hypertrees are establised, as well as the upper and lower bounds on the largest H-eigenvalue of the adjacency tensor of k-uniform s-hypertrees in terms of the maximal degree A. The α-spectra of H is the set of all eigenvalues of Aα(H) and the α-spectral radius ρα(H) is the largest modulus of the elements in the spectrum of Aα(H). In this paper we define the line graph L(H) of a uniform hypergraph H and prove that ρα(H) ≤■ρα(L(H)) + 1 + α(Δ-1-δ*/k), where Δ and δ* are the maximum degree of H and the minimum degree of L(H), respectively. We also generalize some results on α-spectra of Gk,s, which is obtained from G by blowing up each vertex into an s-set and each edge into a k-set where 1 ≤ s ≤ k/2. 展开更多

Sex differences in the susceptibility of SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity have been controversial,and the underlying mechanisms of COVID-19 in a sex-specific manner remain understudied.Here we inspected sex differences in SARS-CoV-2 infection,hospitalization,admission to the intensive care unit(ICU),sera inflammatory biomarker profiling,and single-cell RNA-sequencing(scRNA-seq)profiles across nasal,bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF),and peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)from COVID-19 patients with varying degrees of disease severities.Our propensity score-matching observations revealed that male individuals have a 29%elevated likelihood of SARS-CoV-2 positivity,with a hazard ratio(HR)1.32(95%confidence interval[Cl]1.18-1.48)for hospitalization and HR 1.51(95%Cl 1.24-1.84)for admission to ICU.Sera from male patients at hospital admission had elevated neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and elevated expression of inflammatory markers(C-reactive protein and procalcitonin).We found that SARS-CoV-2 entry factors,including ACE2,TMPRSS2,FURIN,and NRP1,have elevated expression in nasal squamous cells from male individuals with moderate and severe COVID-19.We observed male-biased transcriptional activation in SARS-CoV-2-infected macrophages from BALF and sputum samples,which offers potential molecular mechanism for sex-biased susceptibility to viral infection.Cell-cell interaction network analysis reveals potential epithelium-immune cell interactions and immune vulnerability underlying male-elevated disease severity and mortality in COVID-19.Mechanistically,monocyte-elevated expression of Toll-like receptor 7{TLR7)and Bruton tyrosine kinase{BTK)is associated with severe outcomes in males with COVID-19.In summary,these findings provide basis to decipher immune responses underlying sex differences and designing sex-specific targeted interventions and patient care for COVID-19. 展开更多
