This research takes China-aided construction projects in Asia since the Belt and Road Initiative as examples to explore the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards in other Asian countries.So far,the s...This research takes China-aided construction projects in Asia since the Belt and Road Initiative as examples to explore the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards in other Asian countries.So far,the standards demonstrated the highest applicability in South Asia is the best followed by Southeast Asia.Chinese architectural design standards for educational buildings showed the highest applicability,followed by office,medical,and sports buildings.This study puts forward some strategies to improve the applicability of Chinese architectural design standards.These strategies include integrating regionalism and local cultural traditions,optimizing energy efficiency,and aligning designs with local usage habits.This study serves as a reference for similar projects in the future.展开更多

Importance:The diagnosis of congenital auricular deformity often relies on the clinical experience of clinicians,leading to a high incidence of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis due to the lack of quantitative diagnos...Importance:The diagnosis of congenital auricular deformity often relies on the clinical experience of clinicians,leading to a high incidence of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis due to the lack of quantitative diagnostic criteria.Objective:To characterize auricle morphology in newborns from southern China and explore the underlying etiology of congenital auricle deformity.Methods:A total of 636 neonates(1272 ears)with less than seven days old were included.The auricles of each infant were measured and photographed.The relationship between maternal factors and the occurrence of congenital auricle deformity was analyzed.Results:The incidence of auricular deformity in southern China was 79.87%.Helical rim deformity and mixed deformity had the highest incidence(17.30%each),while cryptotia had the lowest incidence(0.31%).Among mixed deformities,lop ear with conchal crus ear was the most common(22.73%).Each type of auricle deformity had distinct measurement indicators:the vertical distance of cephalo-auricular was 73.97%longer and cephalo-superaurale was 70.00%longer in protruding ears compared to normal auricle;the vertical distance of cephalo-auricular was 10.96%less in lop ears,15.07%less in conchal crus ears,and 41.1%longer in cup ears;the distance between helix and antihelix was 22.35%less in constricted ear,12.94%greater in helical rim deformity,and 43.53%greater in Stahl’s ear.Family history of hereditary ear deformity and paternal smoking were significant factors associated with ear deformity in southern China.Interpretation:The incidence of auricle deformities is high in southern China,with significant differences in the morphometric structures of different auricle types.展开更多
Chimeric antigen receptor-T(CAR-T)cells have limited therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors,partially due to their limited ability to reach and invade into the neoplastic foci.By gene expression profiling interacti...Chimeric antigen receptor-T(CAR-T)cells have limited therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors,partially due to their limited ability to reach and invade into the neoplastic foci.By gene expression profiling interactive analysis,we identified that the C-C motif chemokine ligand(CCL)20 is highly expressed in lung and other most incidence and/or mortality cancers such as colon,rectum,stomach,and liver cancers.Forced expression of C-C motif chemokine receptor 6(CCR6),the biunique receptor of CCL20,results in robust trafficking of CAR-T cells toward CCL20-secreting tumor cells.In a lung cancer xenograft mouse model,CCR6-expressing CAR-T cells efficiently migrate to and infiltrate into solid tumors upon infusion,leading to effective tumor clearance and significantly prolonged survival of tumor-bearing mice.In addition,culturing CCR6-CAR-T cells with interleukin(IL)-7 and IL-15 further improved their anti-lung cancer activity.Our findings provide supporting evidence for the clinical development of chemokine receptorengineered CAR-T cells for solid tumor immunotherapy.展开更多
The many-banded krait,Bungarus multicinctus,has been recorded as the animal resource of JinQianBaiHuaShe in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Characterization of its venoms classified chief phyla of modern animal neurotoxins....The many-banded krait,Bungarus multicinctus,has been recorded as the animal resource of JinQianBaiHuaShe in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Characterization of its venoms classified chief phyla of modern animal neurotoxins.However,the evolutionary origin and diversification of its neurotoxins as well as biosynthesis of its active compounds remain largely unknown due to the lack of its high-quality genome.Here,we present the 1.58 Gbp genome of B.multicinctus assembled into 18 chromosomes with contig/scaffold N50 of 7.53 Mbp/149.8 Mbp.Major bungarotoxin-coding genes were clustered within genome by family and found to be associated with ancient local duplications.The truncation of glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor in the 3'-terminal of a LY6E paralog released modern three-finger toxins(3FTxs)from membrane tethering before the Colubroidea divergence.Subsequent expansion and mutations diversified and recruited these 3FTxs.After the cobra/krait divergence,the modern unit-B ofβ-bungarotoxin emerged with an extra cysteine residue.A subsequent point substitution in unit-A enabled theβ-bungarotoxin covalent linkage.The B.multicinctus gene expression,chromatin topological organization,and histone modification characteristics were featured by transcriptome,proteome,chromatin conformation capture sequencing,and ChIP-seq.The results highlighted that venom production was under a sophisticated regulation.Our findings provide new insights into snake neurotoxin research,meanwhile will facilitate antivenom development,toxin-driven drug discovery and the quality control of JinQianBaiHuaShe.展开更多

The first step of tanshinone biosynthesis is bicyclization of the general diterpene precursor (E,E,E)-geranylgeranyl diphosphate (GGPP) to copalyl diphosphate (CPP) by CPP synthases (CPSs), which is followed by a cyclization or rearrangement reaction catalyzed by kaurene synthase-like enzymes (KSL). The resulting intermediate is usually an olefin, which requires the insertion of oxygen by cytochrome P450 mono-oxygenases (CYPs) for the final production of diterpenoids (Zi et al., 2014).
