A prominent contradiction between supply and demand of water resources has restricted local development in social and economic aspects of Zhangye City,located in a typical arid region of China.Our study quantified the...A prominent contradiction between supply and demand of water resources has restricted local development in social and economic aspects of Zhangye City,located in a typical arid region of China.Our study quantified the Water Resource Stress Index(WRSI)from 2003 to 2017 and examined the factors of population,urbanization level,GDP per capita,Engel coefficient,and water consumption per unit of GDP by using the extended stochastic impact by regression on population,affluence and technology(STIRPAT)model to find the key factors that impact WRSI of Zhangye City to relieve the pressure on water resources.The ridge regression method is applied to improve this model to eliminate multicollinearity problems.The WRSI system was developed from the following three aspects:water resources utilization(WR),regional economic development water use(WU),and water environment stress(WE).Results show that the WRSI index has fallen from 0.81(2003)to 0.17(2017),with an average annual decreased rate of 9.8%.Moreover,the absolute values of normalized coefficients demonstrate that the Engel coefficient has the largest positive contribution to increase WRSI with an elastic coefficient of 0.2709,followed by water consumption per unit of GDP and population with elastic coefficients of 0.0971 and 0.0387,respectively.In contrast,the urbanization level and GDP per capita can decrease WRSI by−0.2449 and−0.089,respectively.The decline of WRSI was attributed to water-saving society construction which included the improvement of water saving technology and the adjustment of agricultural planting structures.Furthermore,this study demonstrated the feasibility of evaluating the driving forces affecting WRSI by using the STIRPAT model and ridge regression analysis.展开更多
Dynamic Bayesian networks(DBNs)are commonly employed for structural digital twin modeling.At present,most researches only consider single damage mode tracking.It is not sufficient for a reusable spacecraft as various ...Dynamic Bayesian networks(DBNs)are commonly employed for structural digital twin modeling.At present,most researches only consider single damage mode tracking.It is not sufficient for a reusable spacecraft as various damage modes may occur during its service life.A reconfigurable DBN method is proposed in this paper.The structure of the DBN can be updated dynamically to describe the interactions between different damages.Two common damages(fatigue and bolt loosening)for a spacecraft structure are considered in a numerical example.The results show that the reconfigurable DBN can accurately predict the acceleration phenomenon of crack growth caused by bolt loosening while the DBN with time-invariant structure cannot,even with enough updates.The definition of interaction coefficients makes the reconfigurable DBN easy to track multiple damages and be extended to more complex problems.The method also has a good physical interpretability as the reconfiguration of DBN corresponds to a specific mechanism.Satisfactory predictions do not require precise knowledge of reconfiguration conditions,making the method more practical.展开更多
As a linkage between plants and soil,litter decomposition and its effect on nutrient recirculation have an important ecolog‐ical significance as they contribute to soil structure improvement and the restoration of de...As a linkage between plants and soil,litter decomposition and its effect on nutrient recirculation have an important ecolog‐ical significance as they contribute to soil structure improvement and the restoration of degraded ecosystems.Fragile eco‐systems in arid regions(both hot and cold)are depleted in soil organic matter,and as a result of various factors their circu‐lation of material and energy is slower.Here we discuss how litter decomposition is necessary to maintain the stability of fragile ecosystems.We reviewed research on litter decomposition carried out in arid regions.Our objective in this review is to outline how litter decomposition,and the subsequent buildup of organic matter in soil,is a key process determining the stability of fragile ecosystems.Our review shows that existing studies have focused on the influence of single ecologi‐cal factors on litter decomposition and nutrient cycling,and highlights how the exploration of interactions among factors determining litter decomposition is still lacking.This interaction is a key aspect,since in the real world,decomposition and nutrient return to soil of litter products is affected by multiple factors.We propose a network setup on a cross-regional scale using standardized methods(e.g.,the tea bag method)to understand litter decomposition and nutrient return in frag‐ile ecosystems.Such a unique network could contribute to establish predictive models suitable for litter decomposition and nutrient return in these areas,and thus could provide theoretical and practical support for regional ecological protec‐tion and high-quality development.展开更多

Using Ti(SO4)2 as the titanium source, H2O2 as the complexing agent, NaOH and HCl as the pH value regulator, nano- sized TiO2 powder with various morphologies and sizes was synthesized. Changes in morphology, size and phase type with pH values of samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron micro- scopy (TEM) measurements. Results show that under the present preparation conditions, TiO2 powder is an anatase phase with pH value less than 11, but is more likely to be a brookite phase with pH value more than 11. With the increase in pH value from 1 to 11 in hydrothermal envi- ronment, nano-sized anatase TiO2 gradually grows up in all directions. {001 }, { 101 } and { 100} groups of crystal plane are the exposed crystal planes of nano-sized anatase TiO2 for the (004), (101) and (200) facets found in high-reso- lution TEM image. The photocatalytic performance of nano-sized TiO2 with different morphologies was com- pared by measuring their photocatalytic degradation rates for methylene blue under ultraviolet light. Results show that anatase TiO2 prepared under the alkalescenthydrothermal environment (pH = 9, 11) has a better pho- tocatalytic degrading performance. Different sizes and phases of nanoscaled TiO2 powders with different photo- catalytic performances can be prepared by the control of pH value of hydrothermal solutions.展开更多
Fungi have evolved diverse strategies to acquire nutrients as endophytes,saprobes,symbionts,or pathogens.Appressoria have been intensively studied due to their importance in attaching and breaching the host surface.Th...Fungi have evolved diverse strategies to acquire nutrients as endophytes,saprobes,symbionts,or pathogens.Appressoria have been intensively studied due to their importance in attaching and breaching the host surface.These specialized infection structures have evolved into various morpho-types:proto-appressoria,hyaline appressoria,melanized(dark)appressoria,and compound appressoria.In this review,we discuss the differences in the formation,differentiation,and function of appres-soria among fungi with diverse life strategies.Using DNA sequence information,LSU,5.8S,SSU and rpb2 gene fragments,we reconstructed the ancestral states for appressorial types in the main phyla of fungi and fungus-like organisms and found that the hyaline appressoria was the most ancestral form.Our analysis estimated proto-appressoria diversification during the Mesozoic period(92-239 million years ago),however,its origin remains inconclusive.Our data suggest that these hyaline appressoria diversified into melanized or compound appressoria,with evidence of adaptive radiation.展开更多

The sedimentation stability of MRFs was studied. The results indicated that the stability of MRFs was improved remarkably by adding SrFel2019 nanoparticles and the sedimenta- tion ratio was only 0.88 in 20 days when the content of nanoparticles reached 10wt%. The rheological properties were characterized by a HAAKE rheometer without a magnetic field and a capillary rheometer with and without a magnetic field. The effects of SrFe12019 nanoparticles, the temperature, and magnetic field strength were investigated. In addition, the rheological properties could be predicted well using the improved Herschel-Bulkley model, even under a magnetic field. A theoretical model was also proposed to predict the yield stress based on the microstructure of the MRF under an applied magnetic field.展开更多
Scientific names are crucial for communicating knowledge concerning fungi and fungus-like organisms.In plant pathology,they link information regarding biology,host range,distribution and potential risk to agriculture ...Scientific names are crucial for communicating knowledge concerning fungi and fungus-like organisms.In plant pathology,they link information regarding biology,host range,distribution and potential risk to agriculture and food security.In the past,delimitation among pathogenic taxa was primarily based on morphological characteristics.Due to distinct species sharing overlapping characteristics,the morphological identification of species is often neither straightforward nor reliable.Hence,the phylogenetic species concept based on molecular phylogenetic reconstructions gained importance.The present opinion discusses what a fungal species is and how identification of species in plant pathology has changed over the past decades.In this context,host-specialization and species complexes are discussed.Furthermore,species concepts in plant pathology are examined using case studies from Bipolaris,Colletotrichum,Curvularia,Diaporthe,Diplodia,Meliola,Plasmopara,rust fungi and Trichoderma.Each entry contains a brief introduction to the genus,concepts used in species identification so far and the problems in describing a species followed by recommendations.The importance of correctly naming and identifying a species is addressed in the context of recent introductions,and we also discuss whether the introduction of new species in pathogenic genera has been overestimated.We also provide guidelines to be considered when introducing a new species in a plant pathogenic genus.展开更多

Curvedπ-electron systems show unique properties and assembly feature that enable the specific applications in materials science and supramolecular chemistry.Herein,fullerene,carbon nanohoop andπ-bowl are integrated ...Curvedπ-electron systems show unique properties and assembly feature that enable the specific applications in materials science and supramolecular chemistry.Herein,fullerene,carbon nanohoop andπ-bowl are integrated by the coupling of covalent and supramolecular tactics.Firstly,π-bowl trichalcogenasumanenes(TCSs)are fused with a carbon nanohoop[10]CPP via covalent joint to form molecular crowns 4a/4b,which show structural and electronic complementarity and accordingly strong binding affinity to C_(60)/C_(70).Secondly,the supramolecular assemblies of 4a/4b with fullerenes afford the host-vip complexes 4a/4b⊃C_(60)/C_(70) in solution(molar ratio,2:1)and solid state(molar ratio,1:1).In the crystals of host–vip complexes,the intra-cluster and inter-cluster interactions are respectively dominated by the[10]CPP and TCSs moieties of 4a/4b.Additionally,it is found that 4a/4b are good photosensitizers for generating ^(1)O_(2) and show structural adaptability in accordance to assembly conditions.4a/4b take an endo-conformation in their own crystals with TCSs and[10]CPP moieties being bowl-shaped and elliptical,respectively.In contrast,the[10]CPP on 4a/4b changes into circular and the TCSs moiety becomes flat(for 4b)or shows bowl inversion to be exo-conformation(for 4a)in 4a/4b⊃C_(60)/C_(70).展开更多

文摘Scientific names are crucial for communicating knowledge concerning fungi and fungus-like organisms.In plant pathology,they link information regarding biology,host range,distribution and potential risk to agriculture and food security.In the past,delimitation among pathogenic taxa was primarily based on morphological characteristics.Due to distinct species sharing overlapping characteristics,the morphological identification of species is often neither straightforward nor reliable.Hence,the phylogenetic species concept based on molecular phylogenetic reconstructions gained importance.The present opinion discusses what a fungal species is and how identification of species in plant pathology has changed over the past decades.In this context,host-specialization and species complexes are discussed.Furthermore,species concepts in plant pathology are examined using case studies from Bipolaris,Colletotrichum,Curvularia,Diaporthe,Diplodia,Meliola,Plasmopara,rust fungi and Trichoderma.Each entry contains a brief introduction to the genus,concepts used in species identification so far and the problems in describing a species followed by recommendations.The importance of correctly naming and identifying a species is addressed in the context of recent introductions,and we also discuss whether the introduction of new species in pathogenic genera has been overestimated.We also provide guidelines to be considered when introducing a new species in a plant pathogenic genus.

文摘Curvedπ-electron systems show unique properties and assembly feature that enable the specific applications in materials science and supramolecular chemistry.Herein,fullerene,carbon nanohoop andπ-bowl are integrated by the coupling of covalent and supramolecular tactics.Firstly,π-bowl trichalcogenasumanenes(TCSs)are fused with a carbon nanohoop[10]CPP via covalent joint to form molecular crowns 4a/4b,which show structural and electronic complementarity and accordingly strong binding affinity to C_(60)/C_(70).Secondly,the supramolecular assemblies of 4a/4b with fullerenes afford the host-vip complexes 4a/4b⊃C_(60)/C_(70) in solution(molar ratio,2:1)and solid state(molar ratio,1:1).In the crystals of host–vip complexes,the intra-cluster and inter-cluster interactions are respectively dominated by the[10]CPP and TCSs moieties of 4a/4b.Additionally,it is found that 4a/4b are good photosensitizers for generating ^(1)O_(2) and show structural adaptability in accordance to assembly conditions.4a/4b take an endo-conformation in their own crystals with TCSs and[10]CPP moieties being bowl-shaped and elliptical,respectively.In contrast,the[10]CPP on 4a/4b changes into circular and the TCSs moiety becomes flat(for 4b)or shows bowl inversion to be exo-conformation(for 4a)in 4a/4b⊃C_(60)/C_(70).
