The influences of Al coating on microstructures and mechanica...The liquid-solid compound casting technology was used to produce the AZ91D/0Cr19Ni9 bimetal composite without and with hot dipping aluminium, respectively. The influences of Al coating on microstructures and mechanical properties of AZ91D/0Cr19Ni9 interface were investigated. The results showed that the mechanical bonding was obtained between AZ91D and bare steel 0Cr19Ni9 where a gap existed at the interface; the metallurgical bonding was formed between AZ91D and Al-coated 0Cr19Ni9, which could be divided into two different intermetallic layers: layer Ⅰ was mainly composed of α-Mg+β-Mg17Al12 eutectic structure and a small amount of MgAl2O4, and layer Ⅱ mainly comprised of Fe2Al5 intermetallic compound. Furthermore, the hardness value of interface was obviously higher than that of AZ91D matrix, and the average hardness values of layers Ⅰ and Ⅱ were HV 158 and HV 493, respectively. The shear strength of AZ91D/Al-coated 0Cr19Ni9 interface was higher than that of AZ91D/bare 0Cr19Ni9 interface, which confirmed that Al coating could improve the adhesive strength between AZ91D and 0Cr19Ni9 during liquid-solid compound casting process.展开更多
Top-down environmental policies aim to mitigate environmental risks but inevitably lead to economic losses due to the market entry or exit of enterprises.This study developed a universal dynamic agent-based supply cha...Top-down environmental policies aim to mitigate environmental risks but inevitably lead to economic losses due to the market entry or exit of enterprises.This study developed a universal dynamic agent-based supply chain model to achieve tradeoffs between environmental risk reduction and economic sus-tainability.The model was used to conduct high-resolution daily simulations of the dynamic shifts in enterprise operations and their cascading effects on supply chain networks.It includes production,con-sumption,and transportation agents,attributing economic features to supply chain components and cap-turing their interactions.It also accounts for adaptive responses to daily external shocks and replicates realistic firm behaviors.By coupling high spatial-temporal resolution firm-level data from 18916 chemical enterprises,this study investigates the economic and environmental impacts of an environmen-tal policy resulting in the closure of 1800 chemical enterprises over three years.The results revealed a significant economic loss of 25.8 billion USD,ranging from 23.8 billion to 31.8 billion USD.Notably,over 80%of this loss was attributed to supply chain propagation.Counterfactual analyses indicated that imple-menting a staggered shutdown strategy prevented 18.8%of supply chain losses,highlighting the impor-tance of a gradual policy implementation to prevent abrupt supply chain disruptions.Furthermore,the study highlights the effectiveness of a multi-objective policy design in reducing economic losses(about 29%)and environmental risks(about 40%),substantially enhancing the efficiency of the environmental policy.The high-resolution simulations provide valuable insights for policy designers to formulate strategies with staggered implementation and multiple objectives to mitigate supply chain losses and environmental risks and ensure a sustainable future.展开更多

Glucagon- like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) are a new class of incretin-based anti-diabetic drugs. They function to stimulate insulin secretion while suppressing glucagon secretion. GLP-1-based therapies are now well established in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and recent literature has suggested potential applications of these drugs in the treatment of obesity and for protection against cardiovascular and neurological diseases. As we know, along with change in lifestyles, the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in China is rising more than that of viral hepatitis and alcoholic fatty liver disease, and NAFLD has become the most common chronic liver disease in recent years. Recent studies further suggest that GLP-1RAs can reduce transaminase levels to improve NAFLD by improving blood lipid levels, cutting down the fat content to promote fat redistribution, directly decreasing fatty degeneration of the liver, reducing the degree of liver fibrosis and improving inflammation. There is more and more sufficient evidence that excess body weight is an avoidable cause of excess cancers including gastrointestinal, endometrial, esophageal adenocarcinoma, colorectal, postmenopausal breast, prostate, and renal cancers. The mechanism that obesity association with cancer is remains not well understood. There be some most studied hypothesized mechanisms such as, high levels of insulin and free levels of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), sex hormones, adipocytokines, intlammatory cytokines, c-Myc (or Myc) oncogenic transcription factor, obesity-induced hypoxia and Warburg effect, and so on. ·AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of full-thickness sutures combined with intracameral air injection(FTS-AI)versus pre-Descemet’s membrane sutures combined with intracameral air injection(PDS-AI)in the ma...·AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of full-thickness sutures combined with intracameral air injection(FTS-AI)versus pre-Descemet’s membrane sutures combined with intracameral air injection(PDS-AI)in the management of acute corneal hydrops in keratoconus.·METHODS:The research included 8 patients(8 eyes)suffering from acute corneal hydrops caused by keratoconus.Four patients were randomly assigned to FTS-AI.And the other four were randomly assigned to PDS-AI.Corneal oedema,visual acuity,corneal thickness were assessed during follow-up.·RESULTS:The demographics,preoperative duration of symptoms and severity of corneal hydrops between the two groups were not significantly different.The mean corneal oedema resolution time after FTS-AI and PDSAI were 11±1.15 and 15±1.41 d,respectively(P=0.005).The maximum corneal thickness of the scarred region decreased in both groups at one week postoperatively(P<0.05).No obvious difference was found in the mean maximal corneal thickness between the two groups postoperatively.The BCVA improved significantly after FTS-AI and PDS-AI at three months postoperatively.No obvious difference was found in the BCVA after FTS-AI and PDS-AI at three months postoperatively.·CONCLUSION:FTS-AI and PDS-AI are safe and effective therapies to accelerate the resolution of corneal oedema in acute corneal hydrops secondary to keratoconus.Despite faster resolution of corneal oedema in the FTS-AI group,we recommend PDS-AI to avoid potential endothelium cell damage.展开更多
The COvID-19 pandemic has posed severe threats to global sustainable development.However,a comprehensive quantitative assessment of the impacts of COVID-19 on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)is still lacking.This r...The COvID-19 pandemic has posed severe threats to global sustainable development.However,a comprehensive quantitative assessment of the impacts of COVID-19 on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)is still lacking.This research quantified the post-COVID-19 SDG progress from 2020 to 2024 using projected GDP growth and population and machine learning models including support vector machine,random forest,and extreme gradient boosting.The results show that the overall SDG performance declined by 7.7%in 2020 at the global scale,with 12 socioeconomic SDG performance decreasing by 3.0%-22.3%and 4 environmental SDG performance increasing by 1.6%-9.2%.By 2024,the progress of 12 SDGs will lag behind for one to eight years compared to their pre-COVID-19 trajectories,while extra time will be gained for 4 environment-related SDGs.Furthermore,the pandemic will cause more impacts on countries in emerging markets and developing economies than those on advanced economies,and the latter will recover more quickly to be closer to their pre-covID-19 trajectories by 2024.Post-COVID-19 economic recovery should emphasize in areas that can help decouple economic growth from negative environmental impacts.The results can help government and non-state stakeholders identify critical areas for targeted policy to resume and speed up the progress to achieve SDGs by 2030.展开更多
To achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)by 2030,it is essential to understand the interlinkages between the goals.Previous research has investigated these interactions by focusing on their cor...To achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)by 2030,it is essential to understand the interlinkages between the goals.Previous research has investigated these interactions by focusing on their correlations.However,few studies have systematically prioritized them from a structural perspective through the complementarity measurements and empirically validated their policy effectiveness,such as which goals and indicators impact other SDGs most,especially in China.This study introduces a new concept known as the‘SDG space’by employing the“Product Space”approach in network science and economics.It measures the complementarities between SDGs and indicators through their network structures in investigating effective policy design.Using the most recent available but unpublished data for 31 Chinese provinces,the SDG space was constructed at the 17 SDG and 118 indicator levels by analyzing the probability of comparative advantage between each SDG or indicator pair co-occurring in the same place.Historical data confirm that in the‘SDG Space’network,a goal connected to other well-developed goals would enjoy better future growth and vice versa.The structure reveals that SDG 4(Quality Education),15(Life on Land),and 1(No Poverty)are critical goals with transformative synergies to other SDGs.Furthermore,we identified strong complementarities between land-based ecosystems and clean water and climate actions using the finer-grained indicator-level space.These findings help pave the way for China toward a sustainable future by providing science-based policy recommendations for decision-makers.They can be generally applied to other countries and regions to assist in navigating toward sustainable development.展开更多
Urban areas’performance in water,energy,infrastructure,and socio-economic sectors is intertwined and measurable through Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)6–13.Effective synergy among these is critical for sustainab...Urban areas’performance in water,energy,infrastructure,and socio-economic sectors is intertwined and measurable through Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)6–13.Effective synergy among these is critical for sustainability.This study constructs an indicator framework that reflects progress towards these urban SDGs in China.Findings indicate underperformance in SDGs 8–11,suggesting the need for transformative actions.Through network analysis,the research reveals complementarities among these SDGs.Notably,the SDG space divides into socio-economic and ecological clusters,with SDG 6(Clean Water and Sanitation)central to both.Additionally,SDG 8(Decent Work and Economic Growth)and SDG 9(Industry,Innovation,and Infrastructure)act as bridges,while greater synergies exist between SDG 12(Responsible Consumption and Production)and SDG 13(Climate Action).An in-depth view at the indicator-level shows a core-periphery structure,emphasizing indicators like SDG 6.2(Wastewater Treatment Rate)and SDG 6.6(Recycled Water Production Capacity per capita)as pivotal.This study confirms the urban SDG space’s stability and predictiveness,underscoring its value in steering well-aligned policy decisions for sustainable growth.展开更多
Recent phenomena such as pandemics,geopolitical tensions,and climate change-induced extreme weather events have caused transportation network interruptions,revealing vulnerabilities in the global supply chain.A salien...Recent phenomena such as pandemics,geopolitical tensions,and climate change-induced extreme weather events have caused transportation network interruptions,revealing vulnerabilities in the global supply chain.A salient example is the March 2021 Suez Canal blockage,which delayed 432 vessels carrying cargo valued at$92.7 billion,triggering widespread supply chain disruptions.Our ability to model the spatiotemporal ramifications of such incidents remains limited.To fill this gap,we develop an agent-based complex network model integrated with frequently updated maritime data.The Suez Canal blockage is taken as a case study.The results indicate that the effects of such blockages go beyond the directly affected countries and sectors.The Suez Canal blockage led to global losses of about$136.9($127.5–$147.3)billion,with India suffering 75%of these losses.Global losses show a nonlinear relationship with the duration of blockage and exhibit intricate trends post blockage.Our proposed model can be applied to diverse blockage scenarios,potentially acting as an earlyalert system for the ensuing supply chain impacts.Furthermore,high-resolution daily data post blockage offer valuable insights that can help nations and industries enhance their resilience against similar future events.展开更多

The cause of the premature failure of 304 stainless steel tube heat exchanger was investigated.The unique skeleton structure inside the leakage point reveals that this is a new damage mechanism caused by a δ+γ two-p...The cause of the premature failure of 304 stainless steel tube heat exchanger was investigated.The unique skeleton structure inside the leakage point reveals that this is a new damage mechanism caused by a δ+γ two-phase structure and crevice corrosion.The three-dimensional structure of the leakage point was demonstrated using X-ray diffraction topography.The results of scanning electron microscope examination show the microstructure of the weld to be columnar and dendritic.It is found by electron probe microscope analysis and transmission electron microscopy that columnar dendrites consisted of γ-dendrite and an amount of δ-ferrite phases at the dendrite trunk.Simulated corrosion test results confirmed that the corrosion medium was the chloride ion.Crevice corrosion of chloride ions occurred at weld defects on the inner wall thus forming a concentration cell.Grains of columnar dendrites were then corroded by chloride ions and δ-ferrite phases on the grain boundaries were retained,which formed the particular skeleton corrosion structure.As a result,it led to leakage when the corrosion of weld occurred from the inner wall to the outer wall.展开更多

文摘·AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of full-thickness sutures combined with intracameral air injection(FTS-AI)versus pre-Descemet’s membrane sutures combined with intracameral air injection(PDS-AI)in the management of acute corneal hydrops in keratoconus.·METHODS:The research included 8 patients(8 eyes)suffering from acute corneal hydrops caused by keratoconus.Four patients were randomly assigned to FTS-AI.And the other four were randomly assigned to PDS-AI.Corneal oedema,visual acuity,corneal thickness were assessed during follow-up.·RESULTS:The demographics,preoperative duration of symptoms and severity of corneal hydrops between the two groups were not significantly different.The mean corneal oedema resolution time after FTS-AI and PDSAI were 11±1.15 and 15±1.41 d,respectively(P=0.005).The maximum corneal thickness of the scarred region decreased in both groups at one week postoperatively(P<0.05).No obvious difference was found in the mean maximal corneal thickness between the two groups postoperatively.The BCVA improved significantly after FTS-AI and PDS-AI at three months postoperatively.No obvious difference was found in the BCVA after FTS-AI and PDS-AI at three months postoperatively.·CONCLUSION:FTS-AI and PDS-AI are safe and effective therapies to accelerate the resolution of corneal oedema in acute corneal hydrops secondary to keratoconus.Despite faster resolution of corneal oedema in the FTS-AI group,we recommend PDS-AI to avoid potential endothelium cell damage.

文摘The COvID-19 pandemic has posed severe threats to global sustainable development.However,a comprehensive quantitative assessment of the impacts of COVID-19 on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)is still lacking.This research quantified the post-COVID-19 SDG progress from 2020 to 2024 using projected GDP growth and population and machine learning models including support vector machine,random forest,and extreme gradient boosting.The results show that the overall SDG performance declined by 7.7%in 2020 at the global scale,with 12 socioeconomic SDG performance decreasing by 3.0%-22.3%and 4 environmental SDG performance increasing by 1.6%-9.2%.By 2024,the progress of 12 SDGs will lag behind for one to eight years compared to their pre-COVID-19 trajectories,while extra time will be gained for 4 environment-related SDGs.Furthermore,the pandemic will cause more impacts on countries in emerging markets and developing economies than those on advanced economies,and the latter will recover more quickly to be closer to their pre-covID-19 trajectories by 2024.Post-COVID-19 economic recovery should emphasize in areas that can help decouple economic growth from negative environmental impacts.The results can help government and non-state stakeholders identify critical areas for targeted policy to resume and speed up the progress to achieve SDGs by 2030.

文摘To achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)by 2030,it is essential to understand the interlinkages between the goals.Previous research has investigated these interactions by focusing on their correlations.However,few studies have systematically prioritized them from a structural perspective through the complementarity measurements and empirically validated their policy effectiveness,such as which goals and indicators impact other SDGs most,especially in China.This study introduces a new concept known as the‘SDG space’by employing the“Product Space”approach in network science and economics.It measures the complementarities between SDGs and indicators through their network structures in investigating effective policy design.Using the most recent available but unpublished data for 31 Chinese provinces,the SDG space was constructed at the 17 SDG and 118 indicator levels by analyzing the probability of comparative advantage between each SDG or indicator pair co-occurring in the same place.Historical data confirm that in the‘SDG Space’network,a goal connected to other well-developed goals would enjoy better future growth and vice versa.The structure reveals that SDG 4(Quality Education),15(Life on Land),and 1(No Poverty)are critical goals with transformative synergies to other SDGs.Furthermore,we identified strong complementarities between land-based ecosystems and clean water and climate actions using the finer-grained indicator-level space.These findings help pave the way for China toward a sustainable future by providing science-based policy recommendations for decision-makers.They can be generally applied to other countries and regions to assist in navigating toward sustainable development.

文摘Urban areas’performance in water,energy,infrastructure,and socio-economic sectors is intertwined and measurable through Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)6–13.Effective synergy among these is critical for sustainability.This study constructs an indicator framework that reflects progress towards these urban SDGs in China.Findings indicate underperformance in SDGs 8–11,suggesting the need for transformative actions.Through network analysis,the research reveals complementarities among these SDGs.Notably,the SDG space divides into socio-economic and ecological clusters,with SDG 6(Clean Water and Sanitation)central to both.Additionally,SDG 8(Decent Work and Economic Growth)and SDG 9(Industry,Innovation,and Infrastructure)act as bridges,while greater synergies exist between SDG 12(Responsible Consumption and Production)and SDG 13(Climate Action).An in-depth view at the indicator-level shows a core-periphery structure,emphasizing indicators like SDG 6.2(Wastewater Treatment Rate)and SDG 6.6(Recycled Water Production Capacity per capita)as pivotal.This study confirms the urban SDG space’s stability and predictiveness,underscoring its value in steering well-aligned policy decisions for sustainable growth.

文摘Recent phenomena such as pandemics,geopolitical tensions,and climate change-induced extreme weather events have caused transportation network interruptions,revealing vulnerabilities in the global supply chain.A salient example is the March 2021 Suez Canal blockage,which delayed 432 vessels carrying cargo valued at$92.7 billion,triggering widespread supply chain disruptions.Our ability to model the spatiotemporal ramifications of such incidents remains limited.To fill this gap,we develop an agent-based complex network model integrated with frequently updated maritime data.The Suez Canal blockage is taken as a case study.The results indicate that the effects of such blockages go beyond the directly affected countries and sectors.The Suez Canal blockage led to global losses of about$136.9($127.5–$147.3)billion,with India suffering 75%of these losses.Global losses show a nonlinear relationship with the duration of blockage and exhibit intricate trends post blockage.Our proposed model can be applied to diverse blockage scenarios,potentially acting as an earlyalert system for the ensuing supply chain impacts.Furthermore,high-resolution daily data post blockage offer valuable insights that can help nations and industries enhance their resilience against similar future events.

文摘Next-generation sequencing has allowed identification of millions of somatic mutations in human cancer cells.A key challenge in interpreting cancer genomes is to distinguish drivers of cancer development among available genetic mutations.To address this issue,we present the first webbased application,consensus cancer driver gene caller(C^3),to identify the consensus driver genes using six different complementary strategies,i.e.,frequency-based,machine learning-based,functional bias-based,clustering-based,statistics model-based,and network-based strategies.This application allows users to specify customized operations when calling driver genes,and provides solid statistical evaluations and interpretable visualizations on the integration results.C^3 is implemented in Python and is freely available for public use at http://drivergene.rwebox.com/c3.
文摘The cause of the premature failure of 304 stainless steel tube heat exchanger was investigated.The unique skeleton structure inside the leakage point reveals that this is a new damage mechanism caused by a δ+γ two-phase structure and crevice corrosion.The three-dimensional structure of the leakage point was demonstrated using X-ray diffraction topography.The results of scanning electron microscope examination show the microstructure of the weld to be columnar and dendritic.It is found by electron probe microscope analysis and transmission electron microscopy that columnar dendrites consisted of γ-dendrite and an amount of δ-ferrite phases at the dendrite trunk.Simulated corrosion test results confirmed that the corrosion medium was the chloride ion.Crevice corrosion of chloride ions occurred at weld defects on the inner wall thus forming a concentration cell.Grains of columnar dendrites were then corroded by chloride ions and δ-ferrite phases on the grain boundaries were retained,which formed the particular skeleton corrosion structure.As a result,it led to leakage when the corrosion of weld occurred from the inner wall to the outer wall.
