Objective: The aim of this trial was to compare both the efficacy and the safety of a weekly nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel(nab-paclitaxel) plus cisplatin vs. gemcitabine plus cisplatin in patients with advance...Objective: The aim of this trial was to compare both the efficacy and the safety of a weekly nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel(nab-paclitaxel) plus cisplatin vs. gemcitabine plus cisplatin in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods: A total of 84 participants received either 100 mg/m^2 nab-paclitaxel each week on d 1, 8 and 15 of a 28 day cycle, as well as cisplatin 75 mg/m^2 on d 1 every three weeks(nab-TP arm); or gemcitabine 1,000 mg/m^2 on d 1 and 8, plus cisplatin 75 mg/m^2 on d 1 every three weeks(GP arm). The primary end point was progression-free survival(PFS). The secondary end points were overall response rate(ORR) and overall survival(OS).Results: According to our analysis, the median PFS was 4.8 months for the nab-TP arm vs. 5.2 months for the GP arm(P=0.55). Analysis showed the median OS was 14.6 months for participants who were in the nab-TP arm vs. 15.1 months for those in the GP arm(P=0.94). Besides, nab-TP showed OS advantages over GP in patients harboring epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) mutation(26.7 vs. 15.3 months, P=0.046) and patients with a performance status of 0(23.5 vs. 14.7 months, P=0.020). It was found that incidences of drug-related grade 3 or 4 toxicities were comparable between the two treatment arms.Conclusions: Therefore, it can be seen that weekly nab-TP treatment has a similar efficacy and tolerability to GP treatment for patients who are undergoing their first-line treatment for NSCLC. It could be that survival differences among platinum doublets in the context of both EGFR mutation and performance status have the potential to be the basis for our further clinical trials.展开更多

The effects of externally applied resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) on the locked mode of the neoclassical tearing mode (NTM) are numerically investigated by means of a set of reduced magnetohydrodynamic equations....The effects of externally applied resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) on the locked mode of the neoclassical tearing mode (NTM) are numerically investigated by means of a set of reduced magnetohydrodynamic equations.It is found that,for a small bootstrap current fraction,three regimes,namely the slight suppression regime,the small locked island (SLI) regime and the big locked island (BLI) regime,are discovered with the increase of RMP strength.For a much higher bootstrap current fraction,however,a new oscillation regime appears instead of the SLI regime,although the other regimes still remain.The physical process in each regime is analyzed in detail based on the phase difference between the NTM and the RMP.Moreover,the critical values of the RMP in both SLI and BLI regimes are obtained,and their dependence on key plasma parameters is discussed as well.展开更多

In this paper, based on the expressions for the coupled flux threading a magnetometer obtained by Wikswo, we studied how the gradiometer performance parameters, including the current dipole sensitivity, spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), are affected by its pick-up coil via Mat Lab simulation.Depending on the simulation results, the optimal pick-up coil design region for a certain gradiometer can be obtained.To verify the simulation results, we designed and fabricated several first-order gradiometers based on the weakly damped SQUID with different pick-up coils by applying superconducting connection. The experimental measurements were conducted on a simple current dipole in a magnetically shielding room. The measurement results are well in coincidence with the simulation ones, indicating that the simulation model is useful in specific pick-up coil design.展开更多

Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins,which have numerous nutritional and pharmacological effects.In this study,the absorption and stability of rabbiteye blueberry anthocyanins extract(BAE)were assessed using in vitro ...Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins,which have numerous nutritional and pharmacological effects.In this study,the absorption and stability of rabbiteye blueberry anthocyanins extract(BAE)were assessed using in vitro digestion and Caco-2 cell monolayers.Overall,similar patterns were found through different phases of simulated in vitro digestion,however,the total anthocyanin content(TAC)of BAE significantly decreased.Among all thirteen anthocyanins from BAE,the highest bioaccessibility of>50%was found in Cyanidin-3-glucoside(Cy-3-glc),Petunidin-3-galactoside,(Pt-3-gal),and Cyanidin-3-arabinoside(Cy-3-ara).However,malvidin glycosides represented around 55%of TAC with 27-35%bioaccessibility.The absorption Caco-2 cell monolayers assay indicated that blueberry anthocyanins with higher hydrophobicity are more efficiently absorbed.In addition,the structure of glycosides impacts the absorption and transport efficiencies of anthocyanins.This study provides data on the stability and absorption of blueberry anthocyanins,that can be used to explore the underlying mechanism of BAE absorption.展开更多
