We disclose the development of the Rh-catalyzed amine-directed remote 5,6-carboamination protocol of pyridines via dual Csp^(2)-H functionalizations.A variety of readily available 2-aminopyridines and 1,2,3-triazoles are allowed for coupling cyclization to access polyfunctionalized azaindoles.Mechanistic studies including DFT calculations unveil that relay carbenoidelectrophilic addition to pyridines and the sequential pyridyl Csp^(2)-H amination are involved in this transformation.The postsynthetic utility of this methodology is showcased by versatile and site-selective modification of azaindoles. 展开更多

High performance and low-cost electrocatalysts for overall water splitting,i.e.,catalyzing hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions with the same material,are of great importance for large-scale,renewable energy conversion processes.Here,we report an ultrafast(~7 ms)synthesis tech nique for tran sition metal chalcoge nide n anoparticles assisted by high temperature treatme nt.As a proof of con cept,we dem on strate that cobalt sulfide(~20 nm in diameter)@few-layer graphe ne(~2 nm in thick ness)core-shell nan oparticles embedded in RGO nano sheets exhibit remarkable bifunctional electrocatalytic activity and stability for overall water splitting,which is comparable to commercial 40 wt.%platinum/carbon(Pt/C)electrocatalysts.After 60 h of continuous operation,10 mA crrT?water splitting current density can still be achieved at a low potential of^1.77 V without any activity decay,which is among the most active for non-noble material based electrocatalysts.The presented study provides prospects in synthesizing highly efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for large-scale energy conversion application via a simple yet efficient technique. 展开更多

The disinfection of waterborne pathogens from drinking water is extremely important for human health.Although countless efforts have been devoted for drinking water inactivation,challenges still exist in terms of relative high energy consumption and complicated to implement and maintain.Here,silver nanoparticles anchoring wood carbon(Ag NPs/WC)membrane is developed as cost-effective,high flux,scalable filter for highly efficient electric field disinfection of water.Under electric field of 4 V voltage,the designed membrane achieved more than 5 log(99.999%)disinfection performance for different model bacteria,including Escherichia coli(E.coli),Enterococcus faecalis(E.faecalis),Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimirium(S.Typhimurium)and Bacillus subtilis(B.subtilis)with a high flux of 3.8 x 103 L m^(-2)h^(-1),extremely low energy consumption of 2 J L^(-1)m^(-2)and fantastic durability(7 days).The high disinfection performance of Ag NPs/WC membrane is attributed to the synergistic disinfection of carbon nanofibrils,Ag nanoparticles as well as the low tortuous structure of the channels in wood carbon.The Ag NPs/WC membrane presents a promising strategy for point-of-use drinking water electric field disinfection treatment. 展开更多
