Objectives:The objectives of this study were to assess the knowledge and practice skills on home-based urinary catheter care among parents of under-five children with urinary catheter.Materials and Methods:This cross-...Objectives:The objectives of this study were to assess the knowledge and practice skills on home-based urinary catheter care among parents of under-five children with urinary catheter.Materials and Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted from June 1,2021,to September 11,2021,in a tertiary hospital in north India.Purposive sampling was used to select 50 participants.Three instruments were employed for data collection after fulfilling sample criteria;for baseline information demographic tool,knowledge questionnaires,and a practice checklist.Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.Results:On assessment of 50 participants,the majority of parents aged above 30 years(74%).Most of the participants were male(82%),graduated(38%),and working in the private sector(58%).Similarly,two-thirds of participants were residing in a nuclear family(64%)with a single child 32(64%)and family income<5000 rupees per month(60%).The mean score of knowledge was 1.94±0.81 and that of practice skills was 1.98±0.85 on home-based care.Regression analysis showed that knowledge of parents was significantly associated with qualification(β:1.821,P=0.002).Similarly,association of practice skills of parents with gender(β:1.235,P=0.050)and qualification(β:1.889,P=0.00)was significant.Conclusion:The general findings of our study showed that parents’education and occupation played a significant role in a child’s care.Parental education and catheter care skills positively affect the child and reduce readmission rates.展开更多
This paper presents a new low delay centralized cooperative spectrum sensing method based on dynamic voting rule using multiple threshold level,for indoor hospital environment,where fading and direct path loss both ar...This paper presents a new low delay centralized cooperative spectrum sensing method based on dynamic voting rule using multiple threshold level,for indoor hospital environment,where fading and direct path loss both are together responsible for variation in signal strength.In the proposed algorithm,weights of Cognitive Radios(CRs)in terms of assigned votecount are estimated based on the sensed energy values with respect to multiple fixed threshold levels,so that the direct path loss can be dealt without further increasing the error,which occurs due to fading.For indoor hospital like environment,Rician fading model is more appropriate.Therefore,formulation,evaluation and analysis of various sensing performance parameters have been carried out considering Rician fading model.Comparative analysis and tradeoff among three optimum parameters-energy threshold,total number of CRs participating in sensing and total error rate,are presented with respect to signal to noise ratio(SNR).Finally,the Monte Carlo simulation is designed and implemented considering the two conditions-only fading environment and fading along with direct path loss environment.It can be observed that in both cases,the proposed spectrum sensing rule outperforms the other contemporary rules.展开更多

The algorithm is applied for embedding watermarks like patient identification /source identification or doctors signature in binary image format into host digital radiological image for potential telemedicine applications. Performance of the algorithm is analysed by varying the gain factor, subband decomposition levels, size of watermark, wavelet filters and medical image modalities. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves higher security and robustness against various attacks.展开更多
Background:The aim of this study is to elucidate the potential risk zones prone to the invasion of perennial ornamental plant Lantana camara,which is native to South America and has invasive tendency in Jharkhand,east...Background:The aim of this study is to elucidate the potential risk zones prone to the invasion of perennial ornamental plant Lantana camara,which is native to South America and has invasive tendency in Jharkhand,eastern India,for present(2020)and the future(2050)climatic conditions under four different Representative Concentration Pathways scenarios(RCPs).We analysed the current distribution pattern of L.camara in the plateau region of eastern India and identified potentially suitable habitats prone to its further infestation in the future under the climate change scenario.Results:Results showed the presence of L.camara invasion in~13%of the geographical area of Jharkhand,Cho-tanagpur plateau which may expand up to 20–26%by 2050 depending upon emission scenarios as characterised by the four RCPs.Analysis for the current scenario suggests the dominance of L.camara in sub-zone V(12.77%under high risk zones(HRZ)and 9.5%under critical risk zones(CRZ))followed by sub-zones IV(6.7%:HRZ;4.19%:CRZ)and VI(2.49%:HRZ;2.14%:CRZ).Future projection(2050)indicates a possible expansion of its distribution range across all agro-climatic sub-zones with dominance in sub-zones V and IV.Variable Bio_4(temperature seasonality)was observed as the most contributing factor for the distribution of L.camara for current and future scenarios across all RCPs.Suitable habitat for L.camara mostly occurred under natural vegetation(66.05%of CRZ and 60.71%of HRZ)and agriculture landscape(29.51%of CRZ and 34.48%of HRZ).Conclusions:The study provides an insight of invasion of L.camara in the plateau region of eastern India,and reveals wide distribution across all the agro-climatic sub-zones of Jharkhand,mostly in open and disturbed areas under natural vegetation and agriculture landscapes.Future projections for the year 2050 suggest a continuous increase in the expansion range of invasion across Jharkhand and call for urgent initiatives to combat its further invasion.展开更多
